500GB hard drive, DDR3 ram (8GB max), and 3G wireless capability. -
I had to cancel mine at Beach Camera just now. They dont have it in stock, yet they still post for sale on ebay. I cant wait as I am travelling out of country next week.
I still got my SR 430. It weight 1.5 lb more and 2-3 hr battery life. But no shiny lid. -

These numbers are starting to get annoying. I guess Acer should rename the old Single Core version from 1810T to somethign else!
Also the same problem exists in the USA with the 1410!
Many are listed with the 743 processor , and others with the SU2300
So, beware! -
people who has 3810t wit su9400
how much did u pay?
how is it different from su3500? -
FYI- Newegg doing the nice $214.99 USD + F/S again this Friday for the Intel X25-M G2 80GB. 'Cept this time, there's 10% Bing CB making it $193.50 USD after Cashback...

I'm considering to buy a 1810TZ (SU4100) but i'm having some second thoughts.
Some people say they have problems with the playback of HD content (720p & 1080p) and others say they don't have any problems and everything runs very smooth... Now I don't know what to believe, lol
Youtube HD is no problem at all... -
DXVA works for 720P & 1080P content that is DXVA-compliant.
Intel drivers has a slight issue with deblocking out-of-normal compliant L4.1 H.264 however which ATI & nVIDIA drivers are better at handling.
Cheers,
Kermee -
With Flash Player 10.1 Beta , Youtube HD runs with SU4100 on 50-60% Cpu Power. Current stable flash 10,3.. needs nearly 100% Cpu Power.
For best Video results with Avi, mp4 DVD try PowerDVD 9 with TrueTheaterHD Support. -
When I ordered last night, newegg said 24-48 hours to process... Do you think there will be any "processing" tomorrow or Friday? Or will I be waiting till Monday? Ground shipping is what, 3-5 days? I hope it's at least here by next Friday
-
I finally ordered the 1810TZ /w SU4100!
Any ideas on what sleeve I should get for it? It's gonna spend a lot of time in my backpack, and I don't want it to get all scratched and dirty. -
Care to share your passmark scores in Windows 7 for the SU7300, SU4100 and SU2300? Most of the scores around are from vista.

Ok i`ve used my 1810T for quite some time now and i can say that the 8 Battery Hour life that Acer quotes is true.
If you use the computer sensibly with Power Saver mode on, normal brightness (not too high not too low) you can easily get 8 hour and maybe more. At least that`s what i`m seeing.
When i play videos, from DivX to 720p/1080p the battery life is around 5,5-6 hours. Even more impressive right?
Well, I`m happy , for what is worth -

Yep, my seashell-white 1810TZ "413G32n" package arrived yesterday and I picked it up this morning! I was actually surprised because although ALTERNATE's German head office showed 24hr availability, I assumed it would take weeks... but to my amazement, their inventory status is the real dealTheir Vienna store is very modern and the employees (local and remote) were very helpful througout the entire purchase so for anyone in the German-speaking region, I can highly recommend them!
On to the Notebook; As I have only had it for a few hrs I will post the first observations and eventually make a pictorial-review.
Packaging: although it may be "std operating procedures", I wanted to make it clear that Acer "seals" their boxes so you know you're the first person outside of their company to lay hands on the Notebook. This is a veryvery good thing.
Exterior: The case is an off-white, I'd say a a couple of shades lighter than the standard / classic "PC" plastic cases & peripherals. The panel is a shade darker, but this may be due to the fact that it's lacquered. In any case, it's not 1-1 with the case, but none the less doesn't look out of place. Guess what... NO FINGERPRINTS. Well, ok, they are there, just not visible...As noted by another member earlier in this thread, the battery is 100% identical in color to the case...
Good news, no wobble *lets out a sigh of relief*
The palmrest is in brushed-alu and although everyone claims it's plastic, it looks like the real deal to me... :-/ Optically, it's just as good and thus, it's only a question of wear & tear (painted plastic will wear out much quicker than alu). The keyboard has little to no flex, but mine has a bulge in the J-K-L region that reminds me of the cabling issues of my Dell XPS M1330...FYI, the keyboard is yet another shade of off-white (a shade whiter than the rest), but thanks to the alu palmrest, blends fine with the case. Last but not least... the panel hinges are slightly lighter, almost matching the keyboard... go figure
The Synaptics pad & "mouse" keys are fine. I'm not an expert with such pads, but it's no worse or better then my M1330's (also Synaptics). But guess what... LOTS OF FINGERPRINTS. lol...
The panel (AUO205C) itself has a bit of a crystal-sheen to it when viewed at an angle but looks perfect head on (I'll compare it to my M1330's Toshiba panel later). Alas, I have one "stuck" [blue] pixel, top-center, but I will try to run one of those pgms that trys to "un-stick" pixels later on. Fortunately, no dead ones spotted. Brightness "seems to be" ok, but then again, I'm indoors atm... ;p More disturbing is the default color settings - my photos look all " bleached out" (color saturation issues). Gamma is at 1.0, [1.0~5.0] brightness at 0 [-60~100] and contrast at 50 [40~100]. I will however try to calibrate it with my Spyder and hope that the onboard graphics can load color correction table(s)...
As for the Internals... communication-wise it's all there; I was kind of worried since the website didn't list BT, but fortunately it does have it installed (BCM2046). Ditto for the HUAWEI 3G module (EM770W). I have already tested both and they are working great! So I basically paid an extra $100 for the "Luxury" of keeping the notebook clutter-free and having all three USB ports at my disposal. I realize that most of us have limited budgets, but for me, it was $100 well spent. WLAN is of course on board, with an Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN.
CPU is as advertised, an SU4100 45nm Penryn (0.9V) @1.3GHz. It's currently running at 1197MHz, bus speed of 200MHz and a 6x multiplier (800MHz) FSB, 2048 L2 cache. Both cores are reporting 39C (102F) temps at idle.
The 3GB memory is running in DC "symmetric" mode @400MHz(x2) @CAS6 and is PC2-6400. Interestingly enough, CPU-Z was able to identify the 1GB stick in slot2 as Sammy M4 70T2864EH3-CF7, but has no id for the 2GB stick in slot1 (pn GU332G0ALEPR8H2C6F)...Looks like a physical inspection is warranted (tbd). The idea of mixing up sticks does not thrill me one bit... :-/
The mobo is again as advertised, a GS45 + ICH9-M "rev. 7", BIOS ver. 3204. Memory "reserved" for graphics appears to be 1390MB.
The 320GB HDD (WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0) has two partitions, the main 286GB and the 12GB "restore" partition (hidden). I don't know if it's loud 'cause the sys fan is loud-er and always on (yes, I still need to "drop by" Timeline Tweaks and install the tray goodies)
Webcam... well, it works, but it's not very impressive... :-/ Not to mention, it has the worst flickr (more like fast waves then a flicker), regardless if I select 50 or 60Hz. Acer's webcam SW options are not the best, to say the least.
That's all for now. All this typing and this post will scroll off the "active" page before you know it, so I will eventually create a separate review-thread, at which time I will add the rest (batt. capacity, HDMI / VGA / ph-mic jacks - noise chk, SD-reader speed, and so on). And pics, lots of pics (see my sig for my M1330 pictorial; similar to follow for the 1810TZ).
EDIT: p.s., the power brick's like a quarter of my M1330s in size (& weight), measuring approx. 85x30x25mm... -
Btw, I noticed there was another that looked just like it...would you know the difference?

My boot time when I received my Gateway 1435 was about 42 - 45 seconds under Windows 7 after stripping out the garbage. After installing the new bios, the latest Intel drivers for the graphics, my boot time is now over a minute.
Anyone else experience longer boot times after installing updates? -
Having my 1810T for a little over a week, I'm not seeing the 8+ hours. Its more like 7 hours. Im using Power saver with the screen brightness set on the lowest setting. I've removed most of the bloatware originally on my machine. I'm using WiFi. All my time is websufring.
So, what secrets have I not yet learned? I heard reloading Win 7 helps, but is this what Acer had in mind when they promoted 8+ hours? -
Hi, I recently bought a 1810TZ with the Intel wifi link 1000, and I'm very disappointed. The laptop detect's lots of access points, but it's unable to connect to wlans with less than 50-60% of link quality. It is not able to connect to wlans that my other laptops (an old toshiba a50 and a 12" msi) and even my nokia 5800 can conect without problems.
I'm considering buy another mini pci adapter. Could an intel 5100, 5300 (there is anyway to install a third antenna?) or even an atheros ar928x solve this? There is some BIOS limitation to change the wifi card? -
woah, newegg says it was shipped out today? i assumed they'd all be off work... should arrive 12/02 !

Usually, manufacturer used to lie a lot about battery time. You should take 8 hours doing very minimal stuff, so 7 hours with wifi and constant surfing seems like very good to me.
I'm getting 6 hours and I'm extremely happy. -
PatrickVogeli,
My post is in reponse to mogolfiero post that he gets 8+ hours. Don't get the wrong, 7 hours is good, but I'm wondering how people are getting 8+ hours. I even recall reading in a review that 8 hours is very doable. So, with Power Saver on and screen intensity set at its lowest setting (mogolfiero says his seeting is above the lowest screen brightness), my question is how is it done. I guess someone could leave the computer sitting for a couple of hours unused, but that hardly counts. And while websurfing takes power, I would not think it is in the same category as watching an HD movie, or gaming. -
This is my very first post in this forum overall. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has posted in this thread. With all the information this thread has, it was quite easy for me to go with the AS1810T Su7300. I plan on using this thing to the wheels fall off which is why i spent the extra $50 over the TZ, not the mention the faster processing power of the SU7300. I have ordered a case with pockets and the Zegg Invisible Shield which will be applied at a kiosk.
I'm looking for a mini BT mouse, can anybody recommend a decent one?
Also, i have read all pages twice. lol. Can somebody list the advantages of doing a clean install of win7? My AS1810T is being shipped as we speak and looking to do the clean install before I start adding the programs i want. That way i wont have to back up my files. Im a noob, so i might still have to back up my files. If anybody wants to add any other kind of feed back or ideas on what i should be interested in doing to my Acer be do!

I got a 1810TZ and I love it! Just one thing bothered me though and I found a solution for it, maybe some of you will like it.
My problem is that I use the Home/End keys much more often than PageUp/PageDown. However, you need to use the Fn key to access Home/End which gets really inconvenient for me. So I made a little script for HoeKey ( http://www.bcheck.net/apps/hoe.htm ), a tiny hotkey freeware (just a few Kb of memory).
The script is:
Code:33=Keys|\h ; Next = Home 34=Keys|\e ; Prior = End _33=Keys|\s\h ; (Shift) Next = (Shift) Home _34=Keys|\s\e ; (Shift) Prior = (Shift) End

I too wanted to get by without a re-install (it was fun when I was younger, now I have a life) I just finished a re-install, though partially also motivated by the fact that I wanted Win7 ultimate. After the clean-install, thought, it "feels" snappier and others have reported an increase in battery life (I'm still to test that out). Its not entirely clear to me however, if there are "measurable" benefits to a clean-install, but I guess I'm ready to give it the benefit of doubt (since I've already done it
). I backed up using Acer eRecovery, I also did the clean-install in the original user partition and kept the recovery partition intact with the hope of keeping the "recovery" option intact -- still to verify that works, though.

1. They don't have it any more for $49.99
2. For this price they was selling with sleeve for 8-10", not for 11,6" -
What are my .mkv 720p and 1080p options with an SU2300 or SU3500? I watch 8,000 - 15,000 bitrate .mkv 1080p and I'm wondering if this will run on the 1410.
-
I have several of those for various machines for the past two years. Love'em! No frills; just works!

) This could be the reason i reach 8 hours with wifi on and the screen 2 clicks above lowest.
Normal websurfing doesn`t eat much battery, if you start watching videos on youtube then you could get less -
I'm about to buy the 1810TZ in Denmark with 3 gig of ram. Now, Win 64-bit is usually recommended for 4+ gig ram, how will this machine with 3 gig handle the 64 bit OS?

Just a heads up, Amazon has some available through J&R. They probably won't last if history proves itself...........

Is it really true that there's no recovery dvd in the package? I read it on netbooked.com

A recovery solution on a USB stick would have been nice though! -

Those of you who re-installed Windows 7 on the 1810, have you installed the Acer ePower management drivers?
Other than the drivers Windows installs and updates, I have specifically installed only the latest graphics drivers from Intel, Acer Launch Manager (for the OSD), and keeping everything else lean as much as possible... the thing that bothers me is whether the ePower manager/Powersmart software is necessary for the best battery life?
And since the Webcam works as is (with MS drivers) is the specific hw driver necessary -- or does one get any additional sw with that?
Trying not to install anything more than necessary, so inputs would be appreciated -
Will the recovery software reinstall all the bloatware? Cause that's actually why I'm asking, I want to do a clean install once I get the 1810

Picked up the Acer Aspire AS1410-2801 from newegg yesterday with a 10% cashback.. nice since they're pricing at 408 + 4.99 shipping.
