now again, can anyone tell me if it is normal that the Celeron SU2300 always runs at 0.975 volts vcore?
i thought they were running at 0.90 volts?
concerning battery life with the SU2300: i got 4:30h yesterday with display set to 40% brightness, internet surfing and installing software, playing around with 720p videos.
i am a little bit disappointed tough. i was hoping to get at least 6 hours.
as for the sleeve: i am also using my neopren sleeve from the acer d250 and it fits perfectly. -

umm, you know that HD videos and installing software is a semi-intensive task right? that will eat up your battery pretty fast.
-
yes, of course. so i am guessing that i will get about 5 hours out of it.
fact is, i only use the notebook for watching divx movies and checking my email, i mean what else could you do with such a lightweight -
i bought mine for 12 euro on ebay (Austria). -
But since I'm also in Austria & would end up paying $20 for shipping, could you please post the ebay link? Vielen Dank -
,I use it more then my desktop at the moment
Also the battery needs to be chaged a few times to get full capacity.
And have you done a clean reinstal off windows(not using the recovery)
That helped me to get some better battery runtime -

My 2888 score's slightly higher then theirs ( 2684) so I guess they left McAfee and the other junk on there, lol -
Believe it or not my desktop is not as "strong" as my current 1810!!!
I use it also more, cause it does everything! couldn`t be happier with my purchase -
I don't even have a desktop. My laptops do everything I need them to do and I can take them anywhere.
-
ive never owned a laptop, especially one this small...
is it a bad idea to leave it plugged in and running all day while i'm gone so it can download some music and maybe run a small app like simplify media, so i can access the music from my iphone? is it possible it would overheat or something? -
No, just be sure to disconnect your laptop from the wall periodically to "exercise" the battery.
I've had two batteries die on my laptop that stays plugged into the wall constantly. -
Only reason I have a desktop is for gaming... And maybe some heavy HD video NLE... That's about it!
Cheers,
Kermee -
Btw, anyone following my previous questions about audio apps (ableton)... Unscientific noodling around shows this is indeed more capable than my recently deceased emachines desktop. I might do a more standardized test (from the ableton forum) this weekend for reference. -
Ordered a Dell ST2410 LCD monitor ($199 CDN reg. $300) and 5 button bluetooth travelmouse ($27 CDN) today in the Dell sales. Hopefully they work well with this laptop. Anyone else running this mouse?
-
I've installed WoW. I'm about to try it out... I hear 800x600 will give about 27fps... we'll see. -
Oh wow the local Fry's ad has the 1410 for $349. I need to go pick this up now.

I tested NBA 2K10 on my 1810 today. I decided to run all options low, just left the Screen at 1366.
Never bothered changing the detail, low works just fine for me!
Very much playable , no problems at all, even on battery -
Krista........my "Ruby Red" 1410-SU2300 arrived today. I think I'm in love! And since I grew up in the era of "the handbag and shoes must match", I immediately bought a Logitech v450 Nano mouse in the same red.
LancerEvoX........I say "run, don't walk to Fry's"! It appears that B&H sold out of these babies almost as soon as they got them in. -
I don't think anyone of the ecstatic owners of Acer here will mind this piece of news

I got this sleeve for my 1810T from Best Buy. I wanted one with a splash of color and a pocket to store the AC adapter if I am going to be out all day and needing a recharge. Otherwiwe, I keep a mouse and a USB flash drive and a few other doo-dads in it:

Is it a perfect fit? or does it slide around inside?

I'm in the market for a mini laser bluetooth mouse, and have seen these three:
Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=099
Trust: http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=15865
Ebay chinese: http://cgi.ebay.com/3D-Bluetooth-Wi...emQQptZMice?hash=item3ef9e09373#ht_2700wt_928
Trust and MS ones have back keys and seems well done, ebay one is cheap.
Have you used any of them? Please give me your opinions and another options you may know. -
I tried to purchase the SU 2300 from B&H on 12/2, but they told me it was discontinued/none in stock. I told them that I had called the day before and was told there were 8 in stock and explained that I'd been trying to purchase it since Sunday, and that I really wanted the 2300 processor. Was told that there have been many recalls for the 2300 (overheating or such) so it's been replaced with the 743, he advised me to get the 743.
Those who know about the processor difference - is this true? Should I get the 743, or the 2300 offers better performance so better to get it? Is there an overheating problem?
Thanks!
-
I got mine a few days ago with SU2300. I am in Austria, Europe. having played around with that thing for hours now, installing new software, watching divx movies and so on I did not recognize any heat issues.
the thing is, I am using 1810tray - the cpu never gehts hotter than 52 degrees celsius and that fan is only rotating at very low speed according to 1810tray.
so, as a matter of fact, there are no overheating issues at all. the notebook is quiet and cool. -
-
Tjunction according to Intel is 100°
So temperatures up to 70 degrees would not bother me at all. -

I have the 1410 with an SU2300 and speedstep doesn't seem to work, CPUz always report 1.2Ghz and 1.000 v. for the core voltage. I have tried both "Balance" and "Power saving" mode. I tried to search this thread but couldn't find an answer. Is the only way to save battery is to do the voltage mod?

Love my 2300 1410!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Returned a Dell Z11 for this, wow, talk about a 2x performance jump for less!
+ better mouse control and buttons!!
Question about increasing performance for games@@@@@@
We now have a nice sexy resolution of 1366 vs. 768
Can we do a custom resolution of like 1280 vs . 768 or something less for games, and thus get better gpu performance? -
Ulieq..........as a newbie here, you might want to go back and read many of the previous posts. I just joined recently and actually read all 151 pages to catch up a bit. You won't believe how much valuable information lies in the archives.
You especially may wish to look through Timeline Tweaks for mods and tweaks to this series of computers. Perhaps this is what you are seeking:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5335691&postcount=37
If not, I'm sure one of our esteemed members will correct me and provide the proper information. I haven't even had time to look under the hood of my new 1410, so don't have any original thought to contribute as yet.
Speaking of esteemed members, how do I contribute to someone's "rep"? A small payback to those who have provided so much valuable information.

Hi,
I'm really interested in getting this notebook, the 1810t-8638 version, to replace my main Acer notebook that sounds like it's about to give up the ghost. I have two questions (I tried searching in this thread and the tweeks thread):
1. 8GB appears to be the max amount of memory supported. Has anyone installed 8GB with success?
2. Does the BIOS support Intel VT-x activation, necessary for things like XP mode in Windows 7?
That's all for now. TIA -
as far as i know 4gb is the max.. at least on mine.. ( got it today) 414g32n i think the model numer is.. SU4100, 4GB, 320gb, bt..etc
Have a question tho.. anyone know of a sleeve that fits this, that zips all the way down? so i can open the computer inside the sleeve?
Also is there an integrated mic on this? -
Well I did buy it - it was getting frustrating trying to do get it for 2 days (and even more days of research before that).
Is the performance difference between the 743 and SU2300 real noticeable?
I found out I can get an SU2300 from the local Frys - will cost about $50 more, and if it's worth the difference I will do it. I prefer better performance over storage.
Thanks very much! -
You have the AS1410 SU 2300?
How will I know if this happens? May need to do it if I get the 2300.
Thanks! -
Anyone know what happen to the 1810T.....It's not even listed on Amazon's page..i remember seeing it a couple months backk

Hello, I'm a new member and need some help. I have a acer 1410 11.6" with the su2300. Windows 7 64 bit. I bought an external cd/dvd rw and it seems that the Acer recovery program does not recognize the drive.
I can write to it using the widows drag and drop and I can play a movie. The drive shows up on device mgr. and shows up in my computer as D: dvd....
When I try to load the recovery program it keeps giving me this message.
Please insert a blank dvd into the optical drive.. Then press ok to continue.
I do this and it kicks out the disk and asks the same question again.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks -
Yes, it certainly isn't good for rechargeables to be constantly plugged into power.
I actually recently read that it may not be good to drain them and then fully charge - use it a bit, then recharge, use some more, etc. may be better than completely draining and then recharging. That's just one thought, but it sure isn't good to leave a rechargeable device plugged in constantly, that much is fact. -
Try a totally new, untouched blank DVD and see if that works. Chances are you have been using one that has been written to already. Grab one from the middle of the spindle that you know you can't possibly have touched before.
Reboot both your computer and the DVD drive - unplug it from the power source, then plug in & turn back on. -
Also, by "periodically" I meant at least every two days or so at most. You shouldn't leave a device with rechargeable battery plugged in for longer than I think 12-18 hours is what some manufacturers recommend.
I've learned this the hard way, unfortunately.... -
I have done that, new dvd pack.. Acers recovery program still asks for a blank disk
-
Well then I'm stumped and don't know what to tell you.
Try Googling your problem, I'm sure you can find something.
