You had a lot better luck than I did. I just spoke with a rep and he told me that they did not have it in stock and it will be about a week before they have them. He offered a subsitute product, but since I only want that one, that doesn't really help me. I mentioned seeing it in stock on other websites and he basically just said if I decide to cancel the order I will need to call back and do it over the phone. I really hope he's wrong about the week delay!

Did anybody see 1810t in person at store?
It seems like major retail stores(bestbuy, microcenter staples) don't have 1810t avairable yet..
Does anyone know where to go?? -

hi there!
Just a few lines:
One big surprise: AS1810TZ 413G25n has a 64 bits Windows 7 Home Premium. I really didn't expect the 64 bit windows OS. Nice. I had a 2gig ram stick lying around, and now windows sees the full 4gigs ram.
On linux, the power consumptions seems to be between 10W and 20W. This is applying lots of powersaving tips and undervolting the laptop.
Battery life: don't know yet, but I believe it will be really good. The laptop has been running on battery from 19:45 up to now (23:35) and it still reports 45mins. Keep in mind I have been compiling a linux kernel, installing programs, restoring data from a USB HDD and so on.
About the hardware:
As I've said before, the processor only scales between 1,2 and 1,3GHz and is missing some C-states. In powertop I see C0 (running), C1 and C4. Installing latest bios hasn't solved this.
Wifi card: I got the Intel Wifi Link 1000. According to Intel the card is power optimized and a/b/g/n compatible, so seems to be a very nice card.
Battery, 5600mAh. 63WHr. Great.

The max I got from a linksys (WRT600N) is 270 mbps with less than 10 feet away from the router with the 5300. The new Netgear WNDR3700 I've gotten 300 mbps intermittently. -
Let's hope it's true (SU7300-4gb-320gb-no umts) for that price (556,30). If not, i waited another week for nothing - bad bad! -
Hmm... the silver palmrest is a bit of a surprise... not sure anymore... :-/ What's your opinion? Still prefer white? I also noticed that some is std matt white while the gloss areas are pearl (or so-called seashell). Tough call, now... -
My AS1410 with the SU3500 draws 10w-12w and spends most of it's time in C6 running at 800Mhz. If I turn wifi off, it will go down to ~8w.
PowerTop gives me the following information:

how much power does 4500mhd draw?

Be aware... From PC Magazine - Oct 21.
"But after a year or two of fire-sale bargains, a Windows 7 success may swing the advantage back toward PC OEMs. Unbelievable as it may seem, some tech companies are already warning of potential shortages, and higher prices that may be passed along to consumers."
Don't wait too long! -
Hi all, I am seriously looking into the Acer 1810 @ Amazon - Nice one with Dual Core etc.
My question to those of you that had the chance to play around with it (esp. with the Multitouch - Pad) and Windows 7: could you use the Touch Applications that MS delivers with 7? They do not work with a Resistive Touch panel, but maybe Acer's Multitouch Pad works??
THAnks! -
Edit: nevermind..

I was (again) surprised to see that the palmrest is of a different color... :-/ Personally, I'm starting to think that the red is the best color combo, with a brushed-alu-red palmrest, red cover & bezel & otherwise black case (& battery).
Speaking of battery, that was my other concern whit the white edition. There will certainly be no chance of finding an after-market / extended battery in white... :-/
EDIT: I take that back: I forgot that Phil did a review one the black on way back when... -

Yesterday the T-Online Shop displayed the black 1810TZ-413G32N as available. I immediately ordered and used a 25 voucher from http://www.melsungen-online.de/Shopping/t-online_gutschein.php. Final price with free delivery was 574 . But apparenty it wasn't ever available as it now displays a delivery in 2 weeks. Next to impossible anyone ordered before me. I ordered at 9am or so. -
BTW, the 3G module in this model is the Huawei EM770W. Acer already has x64 drivers for Win 7 in its support area. Looks quite good but I hope all the features (sending SMS) will be available through Win 7 directly.
EDIT: Yesterday they had an entire dialing program. Now its just a firmware update for the EM770W. Seems indeed all features are supported by Win7 directly. -

I don't think I'll come ever to a clear decision hehe
Current thought:
1410-232G25N with SU2300, 2GB, 250GB for 449€ + probable RAM-upgrade for ~30€ = 480€
1810T-734G32N with SU7300, 4GB, 320GB for 556€.
480€ to 556€, plenty of money left for more HDD space for example...
Are there any real life comparison between 2300 and 7300? I've seen only passmark results... -
Exactly that! But they only have the model with 2G RAM.
I'm behind the bigger versions.

The spec sheet tells no difference for the battery itself, so I'd guess they are even in running time. -

With the 1410/2300 combo, you get the most economical solution (for some, anyway, since economical can be endlessly debated) - $399 or less
With the 1810/7300 combo, the upgrades have already been taken care of (RAM, HDD, BT, 8 hour battery, etc), unless of course you prefer to have SSD - it's been debated if the actual components is worth the $200 difference (to me it is). -

for me, paying 50% extra for 2-3 more runtime hours, bluetooth and slightly better cpu its not worth it...
i might just use my 500gb drive on that, upgrade the ram (with an existing stick i got) and that's it... a perfect secondary pc (although i'll probably sell my 3810T-6775 and keep the SSD for this.. rough economic times :S) -

Still curious how the BT situation will work out here. The 1810T offer for 556€ doesn't seem capable of it, while there are even more expensive versions that have it.
I gotta say it once more, price differences from America to Europe are a shame. Americans pay 399$ for the 1410T - Europeans 449€ = 675$. I am speechless... There's no way around it though. (just for comparison, the 1810T for 556€ I am leaning to would be 835$...)
Damn, I need all different versions available - waiting totally kills me, my thoughts running around in circles. I need to buy to end this -
LFDM where did you find these prices in Europe?
All the 1810t `s i find are priced over 600 euros! -

I'd go with the 7300 because it's a better CPU. I have the SU4100 and it only has 2 scaling steps (1,2GHz and 1,3GHz) and no C6-state (ultra low power processor state while idle), but C-4.
For me, the cpu, extra ram, extra HD and the bigger battery (the 1410 has a smaller battery.. 4400 vs 5600) are well worth the 70-80€ you're paying more.
I went with the SU4100 because here in Spain I saw nothing about the 7300. So I guess it's going to take some time before it lands here. Anyway, the SU4100 performs nearly the same as the 7300, it simply isn't as power efficient. -
It would be cool of someone of you if you would create a new 1410/1810 features and pricing thread with links and stuff where people post their shop findings only. It's really getting crowded out there and people need the facts in one place to make a decision. I'm sure people would add some reputation if someone is willing to take the task

And I would really like to know if anyone got delivery today from amazon.com cause since yesterday it says "item not released yet" !

Just got my 1810TZ yesterday
SU4100, 3GB/250GB a/b/g/n. 495€ in Spain.
All goes as it should. Once removed crapware I've gained 30 seconds of boot time (now 55" to password and 1'10" to WIFI connected).
Battery lasts from 6 to 8 hours while upgrading, updating, instaling, etc.
Great device. Now I have to solve the lack of bluetooth and it will became perfect!!! -

su4100 and su7300 are pretty much identical except cache size and VT. Both use the same 45nm Penryn core and have a TDP of 10W, so I don't see a reason why one of them should be more power efficient than the other -

I didn't follow the Linux discussion. I reread the posts. The discussion ended when PatrickVogeli asked Ohiomoto how to make Powertop show the supported C-states. The C-states are Penryn specific and it really wouldn't make sense to disable them on some of the models imo. As long as this isn't fully investigated I wouldn't claim that the su7300 is more power efficient. Nobody even has a device with su7300, yet. Btw, I find the power consumption in Linux extremely high. On my 1810T with su3500 the system idles at around 5.5W(Wifi on, backlight 40%).
