Base model 1810T with SU3500 will be cheaper than base model 3810T with SU3500. Just like in Europe and Asia.

Wow, that is one glossy lid. I really wish they would make them matte, similar to the bottom of the unit.
-
-
-
Lets hope the also bring a professional version like the 8000 Service .. but that means you loose the HDMI and gain a docking port and Matt display ... however don't really see how they could fit the Docking station connector.. so perhaps it will never happen -
here the English shipping link http://www.notebook.de/index.php?section=shipping&lang=en
Although they state including VAT that's only for the Shipping not the Notebook as they are shipping outside the EU, but you need to pay the VAT on the Shipping which is "Performed" within the EU, only NONE EU residents -
Or put on adhesive foil. Should be fairly easy because of the simple shape of the lid. -
For non-EU residents, the VAT has to be reduced, so the computer it will cost -19% ... but you pay the total price of the shipment as a service contracted in the EU. Is the same if you send the item by postal service with stamps, you pay the total price of the stamps ... but be aware that tou will probably pay taxes or duties on arrival at your country for custom clearence !!

Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Bios on the Acer US website is dated 5 days ago, 8/5. No user guide pdf's up yet. But 6 hour battery life? It should be able to beat the 3810 with SU3500 which gets over 8 hours.
Also don't forget Dell has their 11.6" coming this month, HP is working on one, and Asus has an optical drive-less 12" (probably a U20 clone) headed our way. Hope none come with a dual core option, otherwise I will be really tempted... -
My understanding was that the 1410 is with Celeron 723 and without HDMI. These specs look like those of the 1810...

Here is Synnex Acer list:

4467038 AS1410-8803 VHP ENG/FR ULVC SU3500 1.4G LX.SAB0X.072
The SKUs are close to the ones I posted plus it lists the same SU3500 CPU. Typos do happen but I trust my sources -

The only difference between this 1410 and the 1810T seems to be a quoted battery life of 6 hours instead of 8. Weird.
[Edit] The "standard" 1410 has a Celeron 723 which has higher TDP and lacks SpeedStep. That would explain the lower battery life compared to the 1810T. -
-
so they quoted something to me that they wanted me to pay them which does not exist !
-
Guys, Notebook.de ships with German keyboards. Very different to US/International.
-
I was wondering how Acer managed to fit a 6-cell battery inside a body based on the AO751h (where the 6 cell sticks out the back). So I made this little comparison. As you can see the keyboard has been moved down a bit to make place for the bigger battery. According to specs, the 1810T is only 6mm deeper than the 751h!

It seems like most shops in Europe have pushed back their delivery dates. Most say 2-3 weeks.
-
I can't wait to see some photos of the inside. In one of the links I've posted you can see the thin cooling fins so there will be a heatpipe design similar to the other timelines inside. The first thing would be to remove the thermal pads and put some quality thermal grease on. I'm very interested in the overclocking/underclocking capabilities. The 3810t uses a RTM875T that is pin compatible to SLG8SP513 and ICS9LPRS365. So if Quanta used one of those chips and enabled TME on the 1810t chances are that it is easily disabled with a little solderingIn the 751h they didn't enable TME on 3810t and AOA1x0 they did.
-
ok so what is TME ?
Is this some input to the Clock GEn that makes it read only and Locked to what ever Acer has dreamed up ? -
It's Trusted Mode Enable.
-
Just a question about the keyboard ....
This morning I was checking the feeling of the keyboards from the 751 and 4810T ... looks and feel different, the one from the 4810T looks "poor quality" and "soft", specially when you push down a little bit, is bending like a membrane ... some kind of feeling that in one moment the keys are going to jump out from the keyboard ... did anyone feel the same ??
I hope the keyboard of the 1810T will be like the one of its predecessor, the Aspire 751, it looks more reliable ...
Cheers -
Specs now available on Acer Germany site.
Seems like Celeron only to me... also noticed that battey spec is 4400mAh not 5600mAh. -
Acer America has the 1410 up now with the same specs I posted (Intel® Core™2 Solo Processor SU3500).
US Specs from Acer:

Makes no sense to make the 1410 and 1810T so much similar, but we'll see soon enough
-
If you look at the pics on the CN pages it looks identical to my 751 Keyboard the 3/4/5 serice all have glossy keys and any ways the 1810T and the 751 seem to be the same size so I'd be surprised if they developed a new key keyboard when the 751 should fit... -
-
I agree, it doesn't make sense.
Also notice, they mixed up DDR3 and DDR2 on that site. On Configurations they write DDR3 1066MHz and on Technical Specifications they write DDR2 667MHz.
The 1410 is definitely sold with a Celeron and DDR2, it has already been delivered in China. -
-
That reconforts myself ... because this morning I was very disapointed with the 4810 keyboard !!
Cheers -
US and Canada are getting the 1410 with the SU3500. It would be quite odd to have several distributors with wrong information. -
http://www.acer.ae/acer/product.do?link=oln85e.redirect&changedAlts=&kcond48e.c2att101=-1&CRC=2759084358#wrAjaxHistory=0
and no 1410T available in the product pages but in the download section !! -
No comments yet on the price of $499?
-
It really seems that US will get 1410 with su3500 instead of 1810t. An other aspect I've noticed is a difference in weight. Someone measured the 1810t and got 1306g and someone else measured the 1410 and got 1418g. The different Technical Specification pages say 1.4kg for 1410 and 1.35kg for 1810t.
Very weird. The DDR3/DDR2 statement must definitely be a mistake. I don't think the stuffed in some more slots. -
Can't wait to find out the official U.S price! It would be awesome if they release a dual core model as well.
-
What exactly does S/PDIF support suggest? Is that a toslink connection? 5.1 surround sound? I'm hoping the 1810t can double as a HTPC for me
-
and if that dont work then

Nevermind, it seems that I misunderstand. We'll see soon enough which versions will be available in which part of the world -
-
It was rumored that Intel dropped the bulk price of lower end CULV to $65. I doubt that they will lower the price of their premium dual core versions to that price. -
-
Edit:
Don't confuse with the other none CULV models. The dual core version we talk about is part of the SU**** CULV series (SU9400) and thus very efficient. -
Well Intel just released a new SU2300 for CULV. I wouldn't be surprised if we're going to see that in 1810T.
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/14947/1/ -
I've totally missed that
What frequency will it run at? -
1.2GHz, 1MB chache. ($134 I think)
-
I've seen a benchmark comparison chart somewhere, but I don't find it right now. The su9300 was a little faster than the su3500 but not that much. The su9400 was much faster. I think that the performance increase of a 1.2GHz 1MB dual core CPU over a 1.4GHz 3MB single core won't be that much. But in multitasking it would help, that's for sure.
-
Right, it's very interesting for multi tasking.
