No bluetooth in 1410?
-
Wow, I missed that in the specs. Nice catch. I don't see it listed anywhere. Hopefully that is just a misprint b/c I really want bluetooth.
-
I didn't want to believe that the 1410 will come out in the US with su3500 at first. So 1 point goes to Acer's site
The 1810TZ is kind of weaker, it has lower MHz and smaller cache
The Chinese are already celebrating their 1810 for weeks now, while the rest of the world hasn't even touched one, so why shouldn't they be the first to get a dual core model?
Combining all the facts I come to the conclusion that it is very possible, that a 1810TZ exists and will have a dual core. -
That may be but its only a Dual Core Pentium !!! According to the specs !!! so older arch...
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
No, this Pentium is based off the current Core 2 Duo platform since it is 45nm and works with the 4500 chipset. The only difference from an SU9400 is 1mb less L2 cache, .1GHz slower, and no virtualization. -
mmm... thought the Virtulization was introduced bach with the Centreno platform....
So why did Intel start re using the "Old" names... guess they will come out with a Core 2 Duo 8080 and single core 8040 , in the near future just to confuse people..
-
I guess we can't have everything. Right now I don't know if I'll just take the su3500 and have fun with it or wait an unknown amount of time till a su4100 version will eventually come out in my country.
Do you have any links where I can compare the different SU**** to each other with their different capabilities and performance? So far I've noticed that su4100 doesn't support VT. Most interesting would be to know if there is a per MHz difference in performance. The 4500MHD is very CPU dependent so for my light gaming it's very important to have a fast processor. -
und wenn wird der 1810T im Deutschland Bestelbar sein ?
-
If the Acer 1410 is indeed using the same chassis as 751 (which it looks like) it will mean the 6 cell battery is sticking out on the back.
-
Moin!
(Vor-)bestellbar ist er ja bereits, die Shops sagen, dass er in 2-3 Wochen lieferbar ist
-
That´s the point, but it really makes a difference go from the SU3500 to the SU4100 ??
It looks like the SU4100 has 0.1 GhZ less, I Mb cache less and it consumes double than the SU3500 (10 against 5,5). Both are Dual Core ... so, what it´s worth ??? -
Guys, English please as we are on an English speaking forum.
Most Intel names are just marketing.
I'm thinking SU4100 can just do the heaviest Youtube HD while SU3500 can not.
Also, SU4100 will be a little bit better for multi tasking. But it's sure going to be interesting to benchmark the two, because SU3500 may be faster in some tasks. -
It has got the same chassis like the 1810t. I've posted a link in the other thread to a small review.
Edit:
http://benyouhui.it168.com/thread-980616-1-1.html -
Is the 1410 exactly the same as 1810t in the rest of the world?
If that is true I will merge the threads because they are the same model. -
Hehe that's 3810. You almost got me excited there.
-
The su3500 is single core thus the lower TDP
-
You are very quick !!! I realize and I just removed , but you catch it !!
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
SU3500 is single core. And here is a processor comparison list. -
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
I posted this in the other thread. I don't think all 1410's use the 1810 chasis, some use the 751. -
But this is actually an important find!
T Z-> SU4100 -
Yeah !!! Some understood here, I now realize .... !!!
When I read too fast .....
Intel® Core2 Solo processor = One ONLY proscessor ... the number 2 has make me go wrong about a Dual Core !! Marketing !!
Thank´s & cheers -
Well what do you guys think, keep seperate threads or make one Acer 1410/1810 thread?
-
Man, it starts to get more confusing every day
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Combine them. In some countries the 1410 is the 1810 body, others its the 751.. I say combine them and make an Acer 11.6" culv jumbo thread of info.
True! All I know is as soon as the US gets the SU4100 version with the 8 hour battery, it is mine. My 3810's days are limited.
-
I agree. Will do.
-
It looks like if there is a previous model like the 3810T Z is also posible in the 1810T Z too, but over the Aspire 751 Chassis ...
I have found a chinesse page where speaks also about the same ... saying the SU4100 is comming in last August/ first September over the 1810T !?.
Acer 1810T will be in Hong Kong su4100 CPU
http://translate.google.com/transla...2&goto=lastpost&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&hl=es&ie=UTF-8
The google translation is not good, but we can get an idea ...
We will see. -
LOL, that would be funny. Wasn't it a 35 year aniversary this year?
-
Had some free time in Taipei this morning. 2009-8-13
The 1410 was on display in three stores within one city block.
The Taiwan version may well be different from 1410s in other countries.
The body is definitely the same or very similar to the 1810T.
It is very different from the A0751h.
It looks great, and feels even better. So impressive!
The glossy Acer brouchure has dropped the name "TimeLine",
and added "ULV" after the numerals, 1410ULV, 3410ULV, etc
The1410-722G25n model has the Celeron 723 at 1.2GHz,
2GB/250 hd, Draft-N, Bluetooth 2.1, Vista Home Basic.
List price is 22,600nt
Easily negotiated to 19,500nt
19,500nt -5% value added tax = 18,500nt or $562 US
Beautiful machine but very slow. Must have taken 30 seconds for
Adobe Reader to fully open. Even the display loaded in patches.
Might be better with System 7, but I'm definitely going to stay
away from this sluggish processor.
Oh... something else I did not like. The touch pad surface is
very close to the surface of the palm rest. My old fingers
had problems sensing the edges. -
Here are some info about the SU processors:

Cheers -
I just talked to my supplier. It's being shipped today and should be here tomorrow.
I am going to test it for a while and I'll probably sell it when black / SU4100 versions become available. -
Phew! No more cryptic google translations
I'm thinking about getting the su3500, too. I buy a new toy at least once a year So I might just jump to 2GHz dual core 11.6" end of next year. The 1810t has so much more to offer than my Aspire One, dual or single core wouldn't add that much to the difference.
Edit:
BTW www.netbooknews.de will cover the review. I've just told them about it. -
Thanks for that der_mali.
-
So I just hope that the 1410T(Z) is not build the same way as the 751 where they did not use an onboard SATA interface but used a parallel (IDE) to SATA chip and killed the through put for the drive
which might explain the SLOW opening times for Adobe mentioned above .... -
Maybe compare the datasheets of us15w poulsbo and ich9m southbridges. An additional chip adds to the costs. They might have had a reason to use a converter on the poulsbo chipset but I doubt they use something like that on the timeline. Why should they do that? It would just be more work and costs.
-
Ok so the 2 anomalies between the 1410 and the 1810 are the slower battery quoted (6 hours) and the lack of Bluetooth (oddly excluded). First, the battery life at 6 hours does make me wonder whether whoever put up the specs should have listed a Celeron 723. Has anyone compared the battery life listed for the 1410 in other countries with a Celeron 723 with the 6 hour claim in the US? Second, as I mentioned I really hope the 1410 includes Bluetooth because it would be a dumb omission. Maybe they are trying to save $20 on the retail price or something but that would be very annoying because all my laptops and netbooks have Bluetooth and I have come to expect it.
-
I'd be surprised if the 1810T coming here tomorrow has Bluetooth. Acer has the tendency to strip base models as far as possible, to keep prices low.
-
Phil. Please let us know about the bluetooth once you get it. I hope that if they stripped it that I can at least add it as an option or install the chip myself. I would be fine with paying $520 instead of the magic $499 if it had bluetooth. The odd thing is that all the other specs I have seen ALL list BT so I guess we shall see. Thanks so much for giving us your opinion once it comes.

J&R is a highly reputable US retailer.
Black, red and blue Aspire 1410s are available for pre-order at $449.99
Free shipping and no tax for most US states.
Microsoft's Bing search has a Cash Back feature.
It is free, but you need to create an account.
Sorry. Don't know if this works outside the US.
Until the end of August, Bing is offering double cash back or 10%
for all searches that end up in a purchase at J&R.
You need to wait up to 90 days for the 10% to be credited to your Bing account.
So you go to Bing first.
Select J&R.
Search for and purchase your Acer.
The $45 cash back will be available in your Bing account in 90 days.
Rather than request a check, I transfer cash to my PayPal account.
Bottom line is a slick new Acer 1410 for
$449.99 minus $45 = $405 delivered

Bluetooth not mentioned.

BTW.. I now live in Taipei where the 1410 with a slower 723 processor showed up in stores Monday.
Great display, great keyboard, and great overall feel.
I didn't like the touchpad which sits only about 1/64" below the palm rest.
Difficult for my old fingers to sense the edges. -
The Acer.nl site is kind of vague about BT, it isn't really listed but there's a key to enable it. Oh well we'll see.
Wow that is dirt cheap! -
BAM!!! I may just go ahead and place a pre-order with J&R but I do still want to know about BT. <sigh> Thx for the heads up about Bing and the J&R link. Great price (that is about what I paid for my Asus 1000HE).
-
In a worst case scenario you could still use one of those USB bluetooth dongles that are basically just the size of the USB plug.
-
I agree they are so small, I wouldn't mind.
-
I might have to jump on this even without any reviews.
It does appear that the US is getting the gimped 4400mAh battery though in the 1410. A google search of Acer Aspire 1410 turns up a lot of listings for replacement 4400mAh batteries.
Unless of course there was another Acer Aspire 1410 in the past.
I wonder if we can buy the 5600mAh battery that the 1810T comes with? -
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Here's what I decided to do. I will keep my 3810T until next year when Arrandale is out, then I will get the 1810 when it is available with dual core Arrandale.
-
The 1410 will qualify for the free Windows 7 upgrade right?
-
Those batteries are for a different Acer model which unfortunately has got the same name.
-
There's a brilliant move. Two different models with the same name.
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
As long as it comes with at least Vista Home Premium, then yes. -
I thought the upgrade is not valid for Vista Home Basic, but I could be wrong.
-
It's listed as eligible model on the Acer site
