Dial-up for 3Dmark 06 demo is gonna take a resumable download manager and a download site that supports resuming. I'm using "Download Accelerator Manager" which works pretty well and has the benefit of being free. :D You can get it at download.com (c-net).

I'm going to download the Dox drivers now and I'll let you know the results as soon as I can

Yesterday, for the first time, i tried gaming without the cooling pad, dunno why i wanted to do that. I played NFS Undercover on highest settings for half an hour. and guess what i got as the temperatures..

    guess.....

    97 for TZ...
    96 for GPU
    70-80s for HDD
    90 for P8400

Dude that is waaaaaaaay to high

    Especially for the hard drive
It's thermal limit is around 60/65 degrees, you can serioulsy damage it

    Other temps also high

How long have you had it, maybe its dusty (do you pack it away at night or leave it open)

Also were you playing on your lap??????

i use it on a cooler pad usually on the table. last night i moved out the pad. so, obviously on the table. Its just been one month since i got it. No dust or anything much. this just happens when i play NFS undercover. now its back to normal. other games showed 75 or 78 maximum. whats with NFS. other games are COD5, PES 2009 (the lowest temps are shown with this), Crysis, Assasins Creed and all.

just after i cut off from the game, the temps came back to 30-50s.

What would be the best coolerpad in your opinion guys?
I don't want it to cost to much but still it should be able to cool down the tempatures and also be quiet.

I've been looking at this one:

Zalman NC-2000 is a good cooler, it should be fine

A user on this thread had one (Deks) and it served his needs fine, and lowered his temps

Any type of cooler pad will do, as long its strong and durable and enough to give you service for a long time to come. :p

And better get one with an external power source.

yea... i checked on the temperatures... after that, no other game seems to go that high. it just happened with nfs undercover.
everything else stays on the reasonable range. 70s to 80s. usually 75s...

Thank you, but i will probably go for the NC2000 cooler that deks also bought.

A question on my graphic systemperformance menu you could either choose between:

    High performance
    Performance
    Quality
    High Quality

And when i noticed that you could change between theese settings the standard was set on "Quality" Anyone know if any other setting would increaze the computers performance in games etc?

Not sure, but when you install DoX's newer drivers, you get some options
i asked him about the diff. and this is what he said

Balanced - best compromise between quality and performance
Quality - Games look better, but performance is likely to take a hit
Performance - games do not looks as good, but FPS are higher (runs smoother)

The control panel options should also be similar ;)

    Hope this helps

    hi guys

this is my HD it was prepartitioned into these 4 Primary Partitions (i did resize C and extended the D partition) any way i know the 1st partition is the recovery but what about that last one?

now i wanna install windows 7 beta to try it out for real (I did try it in VM) so i want to dual boot it with the pre installed Vista Home premium SP1
the problem is i can't create any partitions bcuz i already have 4 primary partitions.

with Paragon Partition manager i can convert the D partition to Logical partition but will my data will be safe ... i wanna be sure about that first.

any help is appreciated ...... thanks :)

With Partition Manager you can split an existing partition and utilize the free space to create a new one. And i hear ppl say that it wont damage your files. Only thing you will have to be careful with your moves when you do it.

Lol I'm lost too much replies since i've left but i've seen some high temps records here ;).

Well, after tried many games with 182.05 I can tell you it's a sh*tty driver except if you want to score at 3Dmarks. Big frames drop after a game pause for example in fallout 3 and cryostasis. Need to reboot game to recover normal framerate. Very irregular. I'm on 179.48 and it's heaven compared to Dox.

What up Rayyan ??? Didn't fry your lap yet ?? ;-)
    BTW where is your 3dmarks score ? I can't find it anywhere :D :D :D :D

dammit .... yeah i remember reading in this thread that Intel has protected these CPU from OCing .... why would they do that ? :(

anyway i confirm that changing the drivers for the Realtek Audio would solve the buzzy annoying sound in the right speaker ... i'm happy now despite the fact that i lost the subwoofer function as it was mentioned b4 here too :(

    I'm running windows 7 now all drivers worked by default ( I guess nvidia didn't but i don't remember actually :p ) installed 149.28 drivers (I'm trying the 179.48 now )
    everything else works just fine.

the only thing that i miss is the beep sound when you plug/unplug the AC power but i guess its related to the ePowrer Management
and the launch manager which doesn't work so the animation and the green text which pops on the screen when you change the volume, turn on the wireless, .... etc
Edit : Installed Lunch Manager in Vista Compatibility mode and yes i tried that b4 but i was using the WaterMark removal tool which disables the compatibility mode for every thing .... after some googling i found this solution
I hope it helps and thanks to the original poster :)

You don't need to flash the GPU bios to oc the card

You can do this by simply using latest drivers from the nVidia site, and using software to overclock

There is more detailed info in this thread somewhere you will have to find it though

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh5FBcsxD-U

    Asus N81Vp-C1 14" WXGA, T9550 2.66GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, ATI HD4650 1GB GDDR3, 320GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive

    ----> 3dmarks 1280*800= 6399 pts

We can hope for an +20% increase for 4670.
From 4650 to 4670, core and shaders clocks increase from 550 to 675 mhz (about +22%)
So logically 6399*1,2= 7680 pts !!!!!!! But let's take 7500 pts to be more realistic ;)

Not bad ;-) Hope it's MXM II.

    Vista bluetooth driver there

    No, those seem high

my idle temps ATM just for info: [IMG]

It seems some bios/CPUS/motherboards/whatever is reporting wrong temps for the CPU. My C2D P7350 is ALWAYS 56 deg for one core and 59 deg for other core when I boot my computer, it never go below this ever, but it rise when I put load on my computer. My TZS0 and TZS1 starts at 28-29deg C when I boot my computer and rises normally as the computer heats up.

    Oh right right

Deks (user on here) also had the same CPU as you
And I think he said that HWMonitor/ or something in the pc tells the temp like 10 degrees more than what it actually is for the CPU

Not 100% sure though, since I have P8400
it was somewhere in this thread though ;)
