Dial-up for 3Dmark 06 demo is gonna take a resumable download manager and a download site that supports resuming. I'm using "Download Accelerator Manager" which works pretty well and has the benefit of being free. You can get it at download.com (c-net).
I'm going to download the Dox drivers now and I'll let you know the results as soon as I can
-
~600MB on dial-up
I'll be old before it finishes
I'll just ask a friend with DSL to get it for me -
Yesterday, for the first time, i tried gaming without the cooling pad, dunno why i wanted to do that. I played NFS Undercover on highest settings for half an hour. and guess what i got as the temperatures..
guess.....
97 for TZ...
96 for GPU
70-80s for HDD
90 for P8400
-
Especially for the hard drive
It's thermal limit is around 60/65 degrees, you can serioulsy damage it
Other temps also high
How long have you had it, maybe its dusty (do you pack it away at night or leave it open)
Also were you playing on your lap?????? -
i use it on a cooler pad usually on the table. last night i moved out the pad. so, obviously on the table. Its just been one month since i got it. No dust or anything much. this just happens when i play NFS undercover. now its back to normal. other games showed 75 or 78 maximum. whats with NFS. other games are COD5, PES 2009 (the lowest temps are shown with this), Crysis, Assasins Creed and all.
just after i cut off from the game, the temps came back to 30-50s. -
What would be the best coolerpad in your opinion guys?
I don't want it to cost to much but still it should be able to cool down the tempatures and also be quiet.
I've been looking at this one:
http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=87577 -
A user on this thread had one (Deks) and it served his needs fine, and lowered his temps -
Any type of cooler pad will do, as long its strong and durable and enough to give you service for a long time to come.
And better get one with an external power source. -
Get any more info on your temps, ath
They seem high without a cooler -
Okey so i will buy this zalman nc 2000 today probably
-
yea... i checked on the temperatures... after that, no other game seems to go that high. it just happened with nfs undercover.
everything else stays on the reasonable range. 70s to 80s. usually 75s... -
@vaquin
this notebook cooler buyers guide might help you out. Check it out if you are interested.

Thank you, but i will probably go for the NC2000 cooler that deks also bought.
A question on my graphic systemperformance menu you could either choose between:
High performance
Performance
Quality
High Quality
And when i noticed that you could change between theese settings the standard was set on "Quality" Anyone know if any other setting would increaze the computers performance in games etc? -
----------
-
i asked him about the diff. and this is what he said
Balanced - best compromise between quality and performance
Quality - Games look better, but performance is likely to take a hit
Performance - games do not looks as good, but FPS are higher (runs smoother)
The control panel options should also be similar
Hope this helps -
hi guys
this is my HD it was prepartitioned into these 4 Primary Partitions (i did resize C and extended the D partition) any way i know the 1st partition is the recovery but what about that last one?
now i wanna install windows 7 beta to try it out for real (I did try it in VM) so i want to dual boot it with the pre installed Vista Home premium SP1
the problem is i can't create any partitions bcuz i already have 4 primary partitions.
with Paragon Partition manager i can convert the D partition to Logical partition but will my data will be safe ... i wanna be sure about that first.
any help is appreciated ...... thanks -
With Partition Manager you can split an existing partition and utilize the free space to create a new one. And i hear ppl say that it wont damage your files. Only thing you will have to be careful with your moves when you do it.

Not sure
but post a thread in the hardware forums and they should be able to give you an exact answer -
Rayyan did you get the P8400 in the standard or have you upgraded? also with the 4gb ddr2 ram?
-
what is the highest overclock you can achieve with 9600m gt?sorry for bad english..
-
@ Vaquin
If you ask me, I got the P8400 and the 4 GB when i bought it itself, meaning, it was with the package. I believe RaYYan must have got it the same way. -
Lol i only got 3gb ram and P750 in the orginal
-
I haven't upgraded anything, the model you have was also there, but I wanted to get the best I could -
Lol I'm lost too much replies since i've left but i've seen some high temps records here
.
Well, after tried many games with 182.05 I can tell you it's a sh*tty driver except if you want to score at 3Dmarks. Big frames drop after a game pause for example in fallout 3 and cryostasis. Need to reboot game to recover normal framerate. Very irregular. I'm on 179.48 and it's heaven compared to Dox.
What up Rayyan ??? Didn't fry your lap yet ?? ;-)
BTW where is your 3dmarks score ? I can't find it anywhere -
Thanks for that
DoX for 3Dmark, then go back to nVidia for gaming
Nope, mine is nice and coolsince I cleaned it
-
Joking aside, no additionnal infos yet on mobility 4670 ???? it's too long... -
guys .... is there anyway to overclock the P7350 ?
-
Not that I know of
I wanted to oc the P8400 but I couldnt find any info -
anyway i confirm that changing the drivers for the Realtek Audio would solve the buzzy annoying sound in the right speaker ... i'm happy now despite the fact that i lost the subwoofer function as it was mentioned b4 here too
I'm running windows 7 now all drivers worked by default ( I guess nvidia didn't but i don't remember actually) installed 149.28 drivers (I'm trying the 179.48 now )
everything else works just fine.
the only thing that i miss is the beep sound when you plug/unplug the AC power but i guess its related to the ePowrer Management
and the launch manager which doesn't work so the animation and the green text which pops on the screen when you change the volume, turn on the wireless, .... etc
Edit : Installed Lunch Manager in Vista Compatibility mode and yes i tried that b4 but i was using the WaterMark removal tool which disables the compatibility mode for every thing .... after some googling i found this solution
-
anyone say pls how I can update gpu bios to oc my 9600mGT?
regards ! -
You don't need to flash the GPU bios to oc the card
You can do this by simply using latest drivers from the nVidia site, and using software to overclock
There is more detailed info in this thread somewhere you will have to find it though -
RaYYaN I already download lastest drivers and software (like evga and rivatuner) but i cant oc I think because bios are block oc
you can help me pls ?
regards and sorry my bad english -
this was how one of the people on the thread did it
http://www.a2jblog.com/?p=138?/lang-pref/en
Good luck
I haven't done it myself so I can't help much more, sorry -
guys what transfer rate do you get
would you please use HD Tune utility to benchmark the HDD Bcuz i think mine is kinda slow
here is mine
-
im in school atm
I'll post a screen once i get home -
Well, I just got home, and I have found an older benchmark that I did ages ago
Quite close to yours, and I think that is fine for a 5.4k drive
-
ppl my cpu in full with more or less 80º and idle ~66 º its normal ? :x
-
Try raising the back of the notebook up and see id it affects your temps -
Im having trouble with my bluetooth, I simply can't getting it to work on this laptop with the drivers for xp, anyone know any other driver that's working or some solution
The thing is that i wan't to transfer files from my computer to my mobile phone with bluetooth but my phone can't find the acer aspire 5930G
thanks in advance -
Maybe try vista drivers from the acer site
they work fine in vista
might work in xp as well -
Well could you give me a link to a bluetooth driver for this pc? cause i can't find anyone even if i try searching i must be quiet an idiot :S
-
RaYYaN and temps in idle are normal ? :x 66º..and I already raising the back of the notebook..
regards -
Does anyone know a Uk based company I could buy this laptop from?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh5FBcsxD-U
Asus N81Vp-C1 14" WXGA, T9550 2.66GHz, 4GB DDR2 800, ATI HD4650 1GB GDDR3, 320GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
----> 3dmarks 1280*800= 6399 pts
We can hope for an +20% increase for 4670.
From 4650 to 4670, core and shaders clocks increase from 550 to 675 mhz (about +22%)
So logically 6399*1,2= 7680 pts !!!!!!! But let's take 7500 pts to be more realistic
Not bad ;-) Hope it's MXM II. -
Vista bluetooth driver there
My idle temps for CPU are in the 30s, and GPU in the 40s
How long have you had the laptop, and did you ever clean the vents???
my idle temps ATM just for info:
not too sure that our BIOS would support it though, who knows there may be ways around that -
-
Oh right right
Deks (user on here) also had the same CPU as you
And I think he said that HWMonitor/ or something in the pc tells the temp like 10 degrees more than what it actually is for the CPU
Not 100% sure though, since I have P8400
it was somewhere in this thread though -
My cpu never goes under 40° when idle.
-
Yep, and apparently they are supposed to give better battery life as well
