Sorry, this request is not supported here. It doesn't depend on the chipset alone. It also depend on the I/O Controller Hub. For example, Intel® Core2 Quad Processor Q9100 compatible with:-
- Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset with 82801IBM I/O Controller Hub (ICH9M)
or
- Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset with 82801IEM I/O Controller Hub (ICH9EM)
You see, for ICH9 alone there are many I/O Controller Hubs:-
If the BIOS is the reason it doesn't work, usually you'll see error/warning message at the screen during POST.
Anyway, make sure the processor is fitted correctly. I'm under the impression the notebook processor is "legless", I am right? (meaning the connector is built in the motherboard) A picture of the processor would be nice.
I checked at Intel website, there is no Q9200 listed. I think it is a fake product.
If that is the case, even with the original BIOS, it is hardware problem.

Requirement for Intel® Core2 Duo Processor T9300 (6M Cache, 2.50 GHz, 800 MHz FSB):-
- Mobile Intel® PM965 Express Chipset with 82801HEM I/O Controller Hub (ICH8EM)
or
- Mobile Intel® PM965 Express Chipset with 82801HM I/O Controller Hub (ICH8M)
List of ICH8 Controller Hub:-
--------------------------
Guys, regarding the I/O Controller Hub (ICH) list I posted in the previous posts, it is desktop & notebook chipset.
As I said before, if the BIOS is the reason why the CPU doesn't work, usually there is an error/warning message displayed on the screen during POST.
The other reason I can think of right now is certain chipset features/capabilities that required to support other CPU are not implemented (electrically) by notebook manufacturer. Notebook manufacturer tend to implement some, maybe majority but not all, of the chipset functionality/capability/specification. You'll be lucky if you have a notebook that can support a broad range of CPUs, from Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad, maybe Core 2 Extreme, for example Gateway P-78 FX notebook. -
Thank you, kizwan.
About Crysis disk, yes, i have it and it works. -
The setting I was hoping to find in the BIOS was that S1 S2 S3 one that is on my main PC, however I couldnt find it even in your unlocked 8920G Bios.
Either way I thank you for your reply! -
my cpu is the same except QAJF -
-
I just download cpu-z and I have:
- chipset PM45,
- south bridge 82801 IM (ICH9-M)
like you write compatible ICH9M my is not on your list- another $$$ lesson
Do you know where I can buy just mobo for my G60VX witch will support quad core cpu - I know to my unit work for 100%, guy from ebay was show pic witch past cpu test.

Hi Kizwan, thanks for the advice on page 102, i did like you told me, and flashed with your bios (13 aug 2010, 1.16 mod) but my screens are totally different, they look more like 1.15. then again i check the versie in the information screen it reallly is 1.16. i don t hav VT in it i don t have cpu options. is it because of my model of cpu, i still have a T5750 but want to upgrade to X9000-Q174 is that a good idea?? today i also tried to flash my GPU ( geforce 9500m GS ) from 60.84.69.00.36 to -> 40 at the end but that even don t go.. strange but ok different topic ;-)
what do i do wrong or is it all depending of my CPU model.
thanks again for your patience -
OK, kizwan. I check it out - my T9300 is simply damaged. I think my laptop suppots such CPU. I have one more question: my current CPU FSB is 800 MHz, and I have two RAM modules, which is 800 MHz also. But, BIOS have fixed RAM bus to 666 MHz, and I see no way to change it. Is it any way to modify BIOS (maybe, not for additional settings in BIOS menu, just change some constant?) to make the equal buses for CPU and memory modules - 800 MHz?
-
Anyway, I doubt it have anything to do with BIOS. Memory bus speed limit usually depend on your hardware. As I explained earlier, notebook manufacturer tend to not implement the full specification of the chipset. Quoting weinter's post #1011:-

Man how work goes? -

I've run into this with my Dell XPS 1647. It's "technically" capable(PM55 Chipset, same as XPS 1645) of supporting a Core i7 quad core, but no ammount of poking or BIOS modding was able to get the CPU working. It was a frustrating trip to get to the conclusion that it just wouldn't work. Btw Kizwan, if I didn't say it before, thanks for all the work and effort. -
Does Acer AS5742G have innate integrated graphics in addition to its Nvidia GT420M GPU? It has an i5-460M CPU.

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The I5s do have an integrated chip. However the motherboard must also be wired to use it.

Hi!
Can you help me to got modded bios for my HEL80- laptop. There is Phoenix bios inside. If possible, mod CPU/memory sub folders.Attached Files:

Is there a VT enabled Phoenix BIOS for the Acer 8942g? Also, do you think that RAID can ever be enabled?
So, did kizwan's R3 mod for 8942 work for you? Does it have VT enabled? -
Hello.
I am a new owner of a AC5742G Notebook with i5 460 and Geforce GT420M
Its really annoying that the Intel Graphics are using ~200Mb of my 4 Gb ram for nothing. I would like to disable the Intel Graphics,or at least change the Memory usage to a minimum. I could find this text on the Acer Page at the revision log of the latest Bios:
"1. Updates detect Optimus VRAM type and Size. (more..)"
It seems that Acer has builded in the Optimus Technology but has disabled it.
I would really want to look at the Secret Features in the Bios.
Could you please unlock the Secret Features of my Bios?

Many thanks in Advance -
Guys, sorry, it have been a hectic weeks. I will try to keep up with the requests. -

- Virtualization menu
- SATA: IDE - AHCI option
- Advanced NB (North Bridge) Options
- Advanced SB (South Bridge) Options
Packard Bell DOTMA BIOS_3302 MOD.rar
When I compared Packard Bell DOTMA's BIOS (original) v3302 with Gateway LT31xx's original BIOS, both BIOS are identical.

THX man!
I'll test it now -
@Alkor, I'll appreciate if you can give feedback later. Thank you.

kizwan, do you have news about bios for extensa 5620?
-
It will be ready today or tomorrow.

kizwan
Ok, what can i say. All works great.
I do slic mod for this bios and it works.
Just 2 things that i don't understand, when i flash ur bios and in options chose ACHI mode, it boot about 30min oO Then i think tjhat better it ti re-install windows. And second i see a can't downgrade cpu clock? -
Extensa 5620G BIOSv1.35 MOD.rar
( Modified BIOS image with EIST unlocked is available below.)
Note: Original BIOS doesn't support manual control on Intel Speedstep. So there is no Speedstep option in the modified BIOS image.
EIST Unlocked: Extensa 5620G BIOSv1.35 EIST MOD.rar (EIST unlocked - for implementing dual-IDA using ThrottleStop.)
- This is modified BIOS image for Acer Extensa 5620G with EIST unlocked. Do not use this modified BIOS image if you don't know what it is. This BIOS image is considered experimental until Rockstar59 confirmed it does work. (UPDATE - 16 Dec 2010) Rockstar59 confirmed it does work & EIST is unlocked now.

Thanks, kizwan, I will test it now and give you feedback later!
-
What do you mean by "downgrade CPU clock"? I'm afraid such option is not supported in original BIOS. Therefore, it will not available in the modified BIOS image too. -
I flash new bios. All menus is now available. Thanks.
But a was need a speedstep menu for overclock cpu by bsel mod, because it was disabled eist and lock multiplier at x6 (cpu is pentium t2330).
Is there another way to overclock by bsel mod?
Sorry for my english. -
I will try look in the BIOS image again tomorrow for possibility to enabled the EIST. You need it to be enabled (EIST) right? -
And it mustn't disable.
P.S. Now EIST is enable, but it locks when i try bsel mod. -
Hi Kizwan,
I have an Acer 5553G with the BIOS version 1.18. The CPU is bottlenecking the performance a bit and I'd like to boost its performance via HT reference clock (which seems to be the only way as multipliers are locked). Is that option available/implementable into the BIOS?
Thank you! -
-
thank for the reply, i downloaded and installed the mod and it appear to work but that seems the VT not work when enabled.
I requested that mod because i want to use vmware on my pc for emulate another os but that give me the same error i had before flashing the mod with the vt feature enabled "OS is not supported with software virtualization. To run OS you need a host on which VMware Workstation supports hardware virtualization." this problem must resolve with VT enabled. I don't want to go OT but can u tell me anything about this?
thanks in advance. -
EDIT: To run 64 bit guest OS on VMware, you need 64 bit CPU. Please read this KB. Combination of the modified BIOS image & VT capable CPU, VT does work. To run 64-bit Guest Operating Systems, it require additional requirement which is 64 bit CPU. -
Have any idea of how to resolve the issue? I thought it was a Bios mod problem but if not, I'll have to try something other. -
please please, i wont last bios 1.22 with modified clock ati hd5470 gpu 850 and memory at 950
-
- Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode
- VT Feature
( NOTE: I don't know what is Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode & how it work. If you googled about it, you'll found several information about it, for example this.

Do you mean if I can see a menu tab called "advanced"? I'm not sure what you mean.
Also, is there any CPU-performance boosting options in this BIOS as far as you have seen?
Thank you!
edit: No I'm afraid I can't find any option/tab called Advanced. Could you give me a brief summary as to what major options are hidden, from what you've seen? -
