Hello kizwan,
many users and I have a big problem.
It's about the Acer Aspire 8942G-434G50Mnbk.
We are often provided during the writing on the wireless button.
![]()
Better would be a combination:
Fn key + wireless Lan Button = activate and deactivate.
Drivers and registry do not help.
Can you rewrite the bios so does the keyboard shortcut?
( Aspire 8942G 3109 microcode MOD TEST R4.rar)
Many users around the world would rejoice!
Greetings from Germany.

I have that problem as well.
The "Disable/(Enable) Wireless LAN Key" is right next to the CTRL button - an unfortunate positioning that makes me press it unintentionally and disable my WLAN instead of hitting CTRL.
I'd also gladly appreciate a remapping of this button to a function key.
Cheers! -

Hi Kizwan - I would like to try your bios on my Extensa 5630G again. I got two options for processors:
Q9100
Only shows Acer logo on screen, goes no further. Is it possible cpu code update will fix this? Chipset is PM45 so it should work in theory.
T7250
If above isnt possible, I would like these mods:
- Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked - for enabling dual-IDA using ThrottleStop
- Virtualization enabled
EDIT: Bios is in next post -
Sorry just rebooted to make sure, but my new m/b identifies itself as a Travelmate 5730 in the bios. Hmmm... But current bios version is 1.36 and can be found here:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...velMate 5730G&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=EMEA_27 -
Please make clear/proper request. I need these information:-
1) Which BIOS version you want this modified BIOS based to? 1.22 or 1.28?
2) Please specify the the GPU/Core Clock & Memory Clock value you want me to set.
3) Please provide me the BIOS version which you can get from GPU-Z.
Thank you.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 6, 2015 -
Hi guys,
I'm not familiar with this kind of mod. I'll try look into it. -
There is new modified BIOS for Extensa 5630G available at post #88. Except " Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked", all of your request already covered by the modified BIOS. FYI, Extensa 5230 also use the same BIOS as Extensa 5630G. All of these models share the same BIOS:-
I'll modify BIOS with " Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked" for Extensa 5630G as soon as possible. For the meantime, please make sure your notebook can recover corrupted BIOS with CRISIS disk. -
Ok thank you very much Kizwan. I will make very sure I can recover before trying your actual modded bios from post 88 (Sorry i didnt see it)
However, you didnt say anything about the Q9100 ES processor I have lying around. Is that just simple a no-go ? -
I'll need to create another modified BIOS image (" Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked"). The one at post #88, the EIST still locked. The modified BIOS image will be ready as soon as possible.
I forgot to mention about this earlier. I don't know for sure but since it boot & you can see the BIOS splash screen with Q9100 installed, probably microcode update can fix the problem. I'll add new microcode update in the new modified BIOS image.
Your pending request are:-
- Microcode update for Q9100 (ES)
- Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked
The modified BIOS will be ready as soon as possible. -
OMG if microcode update makes the Q9100 work! It'll be the fastest Extensa 5630G in the world
- And help me wait upgrade
-
1) 1.28 kizwan, with unlock hided menu bios
2) i want gpu at 850 and memory at 950
3) i upload my gpu with bios version
thank kizwan for your support
-
The modified BIOS will be ready as soon as possible.

Do you know how many times a day I update this page in pure awaitingment exciteness?

Hello everyone I wanted to ask if it was possible to have a mod bios for acer 5920g to overclock the cpu.
Thanks again and sorry for my English but I am Italian. -
User Retired 2 Notebook Nobel Laureate NBR Reviewer
There's a dualIDA bios already for your 5920G: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...ida-both-cores-core-2-duo-15.html#post6646598 . If you want to overclock further then consider applying a PLL pinmod as shown in http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...pll-pinmod-overclocking-methods-examples.html . -
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum so first off Hi Everyone!

Hi!
Are there any news about the bios for the X7200??
best regards -

im not sure how to find the bios file itself. the dell site only has the .exe that installs the bios from windows. -
Is this original BIOS file? Just give me the file as long as it contain the BIOS file for your notebook. Please specify the exact notebook model.
-
conscriptvirus Notebook Evangelist
the bios should be in that file. i just don't know how to extract? it's a .exe. u update the bios by just double clicking on the .exe and it does everything.
my laptop is a Dell XPS L501X
the site (with the same file that i posted) is
here
EDIT: someone told me how to get the files
i uploaded them here on this site
it's essentially the files that get put into a temp file when u run the installer. i believe the bios is located in l501x_bios\WinPhlash64\BIOS1.WPH
btw here are my specs:
i3-370m 2.4ghz
3gb ddr3 ram
420m 1gb video card w/ intel HD video card for optimus -
I don't suppose it would be possible to port some of this work back for the D901C? Our BIOS is shockingly bad for features..
-
NOTE: Before using the modified BIOS in this post, make sure you already flashed BIOS with the original BIOS (according to the version you want to use).

Please give me the download link to your notebook BIOS & also the model/brand of your notebook. I'll take a look.
I'll take a look later. The modified BIOS image will be ready as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure your notebook can recover corrupted BIOS with CRISIS disk.
@guys,
The modified BIOS will be ready as soon as possible. It will gonna take a longer time, 4-5 days or a week. Please refrain from asking me when it gonna be available. It will be available soon. Thank you for understanding. -
Thanks kizwan, it would be great if you could have a look, but there's no rush, whever it's ready. Here's the link to the generic BIOS from Clevo (they stopped distributing them around 2009, so unfortunately file-sharing is the only way to go):
D901C BIOS 0.22 & EC
The model/make of my laptop is a Novatech X90R, so I believe mine should be exactly the same as Novatech are just a reseller. Just to be sure though I ran Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit and extracted the actual BIOS: http://rapidshare.com/files/448957691/X90R.rom It's almost certainly better to work on the generic one though, as I believe UBBT has problems with extracting the manufacturer with Phoenix BIOSes. I could be mistaken however.
Good luck, hoping for the best!
-
I think better I use "D901C BIOS 0.22" file as long as it is compatible with your notebook. It is not a good idea to work on backup BIOS since it is not usually complete (missing the platform data).
-
Yep, I agree - I believe you'd only need to look at the D9C_22.WPH within the D900C_22 folder, as the other (H8D900C.13N) is just a keyboard file. Thanks again for looking

The modified BIOS image for Toshiba Qosmio X300 requested by dseriewow via PM on 15 February 2011 is available at post #546. It is based on BIOS180. Use at your own risk.
- Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked - for enabling dual-IDA using ThrottleStop. -
Currently using your bios to enable VT on my 6930g and it's awesome, flawless even! But i still have a question, is it possible to do bios-undervolts on a 6930G.
My current cpu is fine in windows with undervolting software but since it has a very high vid it runs really hot while using an OS without this abilities (Mainly linux) -
acer 5553g, can u disable by default this 25 mhz clock that slowls that that machine.. ?
-
It is can be done but it is not supported here. It involved a bit of editing & testing. I don't have time for it to be honest.
Please open new thread for this specific issue (6930g undervolt). Invite me & we'll discuss it there.
Which option are you referring to? If you can disabled it in BIOS, there is no need for BIOS mods. Usually it is not a good idea to change the default settings. -
Hi,
AMD microcode update is different than Intel. So far I'm unable to determine the AMD microcode update format. Does the original processor which came with the Ferrari One is AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core Mobile L310? I'm still looking into it. I'll let you know later. -
Hi Kizwan. Yes the original processor is AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core Mobile L310.
Understand this may be different than usual .I apreciate your efforts and hope we you can find a solution. -
New modified BIOS image for Extensa 5630G. It is based on BIOS ver 1.36.

Use at your own risk!
New modified BIOS image based on BIOS v1.36 is available at post #88:-
- Unlocked hidden options
- Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) unlocked - for enabling dual-IDA using ThrottleStop.
- Updated CPU Microcode Update for processor with CPUID 01067Ah (e.g Q9100)
Q9100 support:-
The original BIOS already contain microcode update for Q9100. It is the same version & the same release with the one available in Alienware M17x-R1's BIOS. I already checked that Q9100 does work on Alienware M17x-R1. I don't know why it doesn't work on your notebook. It is a long shot but I updated Q9100 CPU Microcode Update with latest version (28/9/2010). -
