In linux you'll need to use acer_acpi.

Don't know if this is the right thread but I'd like to ask for a modded Dell M1530 A12 bios.

Would it be possible to make the fan on constantly on at low rpm with some bios setting?

Read this. It should give you a pretty good idea of how you can enable/disable bluetooth on the hardware level.

In Linux, you can enable bluetooth automatically using acer_ec.pl

Place this in /etc/rc.local before exit 0:
    Code:
     # turn on bluetooth
    /file/location/acer_ec.pl +f 0x71 0x02 &
And here is what I use to turn off WiFi on boot:
    Code:
     # turn off Wi-Fi on boot
    /file/location/acer_ec.pl -f 0x71 0x01 &
Alternatively, you can download and play around with acpi_call. You can use it to make calls directly to the ACPI for various things.

    Cheers!

    Sorry, no.
If your notebook unbootable with T7500, that means the CPU is not supported. No modified BIOS can make it to work.
Sorry, FAN mod is not supported here. All 3820 series notebook use the same BIOS & have the same embedded controller. You have better luck at Acer Aspire TimelineX 3820TG mods/tweaks ONLY! thread. When flashing BIOS make sure both battery & AC adapter are plugged in.

Try flash BIOS in DOS mode (boot with USB DOS bootable drive). Did you tried this custom FAN profile? What error did you get when trying the custom FAN profile? A screenshot of the error is useful for troubleshooting.

ok i ve found the solution to update the bios, the problem was my battery it was 0% and the bios updater needed it to be at 30+%

    i edited setting.ini in winflash64 folder to VERIFYPOWER=0

i still need help with the noisy fan :( whatever trick i use it does nothing, it wont slow it... maybe its because i cleaned it before? because when i had temp at 55° the fan was quiet now its 40° and its noisy zz

    Hi kizwan! ;)
I noticed that in your Aspire 5920G modded BIOS things like "CPU Frequency Ratio" and all that is related to LCD Display/TV Ouput is hidden!
    Can you unlock this things?

    Thanks! :)

CPU Frequency Ratio is known to cause notebook unbootable. It has been tested on several notebooks. Regardless it is standard or multiplier unlocked CPU, changing CPU Frequency Ratio will causing notebook unbootable.

    Hi all,

Can Someone help me unlock the Hidden/Advanced features in Phoenix BIOS SecureCore Tiano version 1.22 for my Acer Aspire 4750G. I want to be able to Enable or Disable the Intel HD VGA Function or For Nvidia.

Yes, I do know the issues that I would encounter if I attempt to Enable or Disable the Intel HD VGA or the Nvidia GT 540M Function. However, I do know of someone who have used a modded BIOS from Kizwan for the 4743G and managed to get display even though either VGA is disabled. So I would like to try using a modded BIOS for my Acer Aspire 4750G.

My Acer Aspire 4750G Notebook full specification can be found here:

Acer Support: Acer Aspire 4750G Notebook Series Specifications

The link to download the latest BIOS for Acer Aspire 4750G is here:

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...ep3=Aspire 4750G&OS=721&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_6

Further old versions of the BIOS can also be found from here by selecting the appropriate notebook model:

    Download

I really hope you can help me to fufill the function that I need for the BIOS.

    Thanks in advance. :D

    Hey guys,

Can someone tell me if the hidden advanced BIOS for an Acer 8920g has any kind (or can be made) of "Wake on Keyboard" feature or any ACPI options?

My 8920g seems to be stuck in that state and i cant figured out whats happening (i have tried multiple OS), the shutdown command puts the laptop on a "sleep state" which i can wake the laptop from the keyboard but it boots from the bios screen. Ofcourse it eats up my battery and its extremely frustrating

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kizwan,

Thanks for the reply. So 4750G is using Phoenix UEFI BIOS, then what is 4743G using? I see from here

HELP Unlocking ACER 4743G Phoenix BIOS v1.06

that you are able to mod the BIOS.

Currently you do not have any solution for the UEFI BIOS yet is due to no UEFI editor available yet or some other reasons? Also about when will UEFI BIOS be able to be modded?

Just read the blog and is too deep for me to understand...my bad.

However, is a headstart to look into the UEFI BIOS to be modded. Probably Kizwan will be able to comprehend what the blog is saying. Hopefully I can get my 4750G started with the "Which Graphics Adapter to Disable?" option

3 cheers to Kizwan on his work all these years!!! *clap clap clap!!!*

    Hey kizwan!

Can you change one integrated vBIOS to another?

Also, I don't know how much you know about vBIOS. I know it is more system BIOS for you. Either way, can you see if there are some special proprietary LVDS output and fan control?

Disregard that if you can sum up this situation better... What someone is planning on doing is upgrading a GPU BGA.
The GPU soldered to the motherboard, and it is a g92-700 (8800m GTS). The new BGA is a g92-751-b1 (gtx 260m).

    Hi,

I'm not an expert on the VBIOS but I can re-integrate the new VBIOS into system BIOS (for the onboard-dedicated GPU). Just need to replaced the old VBIOS with new one.

If the old & new GPU chip have identical connection to the motherboard, I don't think you need to worry with the video output (LVDS, VGA, HDMI, etc). The trickiest part is VBIOS of course. You can't use any VBIOS because they contain information for the video output, for example, index 0 HDMI, index 1 LVDS & index 2 VGA. If the VBIOS for the old GPU have video output arrangement, for example; index 0 HDMI, index 1 VGA & index 2 LVDS; the VBIOS for the new GPU also need to have the same video output arrangement. I know several tools which can read video output configuration from VBIOS but they are Mac's software. I haven't found similar tools for windows though.

You can't find any info about the outputs by disassembling the BIOS?

I know you are not an expert on vbios, do you know anyone who is? other than mavke.

There is a major problem I foresee, if the vBIOS is simply too proprietary. Because the new vBIOS... would have to be from a standard MXM card... Doesn't seem like it will work.

So I would need someone who can disassemble vBIOS like you disassemble BIOS. AFAIK there are no real tools for this.

I believe there is a fairly logical arrangement of headers and places in the vBIOS with brand customizations. And the actual 8800m GTS vBIOS is not that different, same g92 architecture... BUT making a combined vBIOS out of 2 is completely beyond me.

Back to the case in point. This mac software, does it only read outputs of the card on the system running mac OS? Or can you disassemble a vBIOS file if you have a mac system?

No, I can't check the outputs in the VBIOS myself & I don't know anyone can do it. You can use any VBIOS including VBIOS from MXM card. Just need to use VBIOS which have the same/correct outputs configuration. The software only run in Mac operating system. So, you'll need a Mac system. Anyway, the tools just give the information, it can't do anything. IIRC, someone already tried to modify the outputs configuration in VBIOS but it doesn't work.

Actually, a VBIOS from an MXM card is perhaps the easiest thing to modify for this - simply find where it calls the MXM interrupt (INT 15h, (E)AX=5F80h), and replace the call with a function that returns a hardcoded MXM structure you embed into the VBIOS.

Hi Kizwan, hope you can answer the above queries.

Does this post frm NetRoller able to help you get started into the UEFI BIOS mod?

Sorry, I must have missed your post. Sorry, there is no option like that hidden in the BIOS. The problem you're experiencing is a bit weird. I don't know what caused it.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay. You can find the modified BIOS for Extensa 5230 at post #87. It contain CPU Microcode Update for Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (CPUID 6FBh).

iJo09, you're referring to IGD sub-menus. That is for notebook with Internal Graphics. This sub-menus can cause BIOS menu to crashed.

The hidden options in Aspire 5920G is not similar with Aspire 6920G. 6920G have many sub-menus. On 5920G, only Virtualization option look useful. The EIST is unlocked in the latest modified BIOS image (EIST MOD_FIXED). You can enabled dual-IDA mode if you have compatible processor.

EDIT: I'm still looking in the 5920G BIOS if there are any useful hidden options.

The new modified BIOS image for Aspire 5920G is available at post #595. It is based on BIOS " EIST MOD_FIXED". This new modified BIOS contain more unlocked options. Use at your own risk!
