    Hi kizwan!

I've installed the Packard Bell_EasyNote TJ65_BIOS_1.31_VT MOD from this Post and it works fine on my Pb TJ65. Thank you so far! But is it possible to unhide an option to disable the beep when I plug in/unplug my laptop's AC adapter?

    Thanks

For now, I don't have plan to support UEFI BIOS.
There is no such option to disable the beeps when unplugging/plugging the AC adapter.

Note to anyone doing UEFI mods: The Internal Form Representation code's format is publicly documented as part of the UEFI and Intel EFI specifications. (Be careful - many "UEFI" BIOSes are actually Intel EFI, which has a slightly different IFR encoding.)

@kizwan: Hello kizwan, i have a Problem with my Lan device on Acer 3820TG@modded Bios 1.19. I deactivated the Lan in the hidden intel menu but i cant activate it anymore. The Windows Devicemanager does not show the Lan Card. It would be very nice if you could help me or give me a tip. Thank you.

Reset CMOS by disconnecting the CMOS/RTC battery. You'll need to disassembled your notebook to access the CMOS/RTC battery.

    Hello,

the latest ACER BIOS update for the 5740G disabled the bluetooth on on reboot (before the update, if the bluetooth was on before reboot, it was automatically turned on after the reboot) so I hope that it is possible to automatically enable the bluetooth module from within the BIOS since from what I've noticed this isn't possible from within the OS. Do you think you could MOD the 1.28 BIOS (link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...=Aspire 5740G&OS=722&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=EMEA_27 ) to enable bluetooth automatically on every boot (not only reboot)? I first thought of disassembling the laptop and connecting the bluetooth module to another USB port, but that would mean I'd have a lot of trouble (disassembling it) and would lose a USB port, so if it would be possible from within the BIOS that would be really awesome.
Thank you very much in advance!

Downgrade the BIOS to a version that work for you. No need to update the BIOS if not necessary.
Hidden menu/options in this BIOS are not properly linked. It's not possible to unlock/unhide 'em.

This notebook use Insyde BIOS. Sorry, Insyde BIOS is not supported here. Anyway, it's very unlikely to find voltage control option (hidden) in the BIOS.

Well, there are 2 reasons I made this request:
    1) I have installed a second HDD instead of my optical drive, and previous versions of the BIOS don't support that (I had to put a on/off button on the caddy and turn the HDD off until after BIOS or the BIOS would get stuck, ugly stuff...)
    2) Even the previous BIOS didn't turn the bluetooth on at every boot, just at reboots, like I already said. But seeing that it is possible to turn the bluetooth module on from the BIOS I thought it might be possible to turn it on at every boot (I have a bluetooth mouse so I always need bluetooth turned on).

If you can't or don't want to do it, please let me know, I'll just disassemble it and will try to connect the bluetooth module to another USB port, which is always on.
    Thanks for your reply!

    Hi Kizwan,

Can you please mod the BIOS for my Acer Ferrari One FO200 as I would like to overclock my CPU? The latest BIOS is version 3112

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_3112_A_A.zip?acerid=634169419436986118&Step1=Netbook&Step2=Ferrari One&Step3=FO200&OS=722&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=AAP_10

Another question that I have is that I want to upgrade the CPU in my Ferrari from a AMD L310 to a TK-42 or a K345, would you know what if these two or any other CPU's would be supported by the BIOS?

Sorry, your request is not supported here.
Please use 3rd party tools like SetFSB to overclock. I unable to determine whether the processors you mentioned here are supported or not on Acer Ferrari One FO200. The AMD Microcode Update is different than Intel Microcode Update.

Thanks Kizwan. The problem that I have with SetFSB is that I have to run the program every time I boot the computer as the new FSB settings aren't stored and they are being reset to default when rebooting.

Can you still provide a BIOS update for my Ferrari One so that I can access the hidden BIOS features?

    Thanks a lot

Create a batch file that calls your setfsb with the right parameters and create a schedule to run it whenever you login (reboot or resume).

    Code:
    3.Command Line Switch Options
SetFSB Version 2.3.163.129 has the following Command Line Switch Options.

       -w : Wait [00-99 sec] default=10sec
       -s : Set FSB [000-999 MHz] or [000.0-999.9 MHz]
       -i : Increment(targetFSB > currentFSB) or Decrement(targetFSB < currentFSB) [00-99 MHz] or [00.0-99.9 MHz] default=max
       -u : 0(default)=normal , 1=ultra
       -b : 0(default)=normal , 1=background
       -p : PCI-E [000-999 MHz] or [000.0-999.9 MHz] default=none
FSB overclock[set PCI-E then increase FSB], FSB underclock[decrease FSB then set PCI-E]
-q : Quiet [no GUI to be displayed at all]
       -cg[string] : Clock Generator default=none Maximum 15 characters

     Example: -w05 -s300.1 -p105.1 -cg[ICS9LPRS918BKL] -u1

On Nvidia Optimus powered notebook, the Intel HD Graphics responsible in forwarding frames from Nvidia GPU to display/output. The Nvidia GPU do not have direct connection with display/output.

Disable the Intel HD Graphics? Yes, you can but you'll only get blank screen after that.
PBE is an old software. It will unable to open newer BIOS.

You won't be able to open the BIOS image using PBE. All newer BIOS can't. Even if you able to open it using PBE, you won't be able to see the hidden options. PBE is a simple BIOS tool which have limited functionality. The only way to modify a BIOS is using HEX editor. At first post you can find a tutorial doc on how to unlock hidden options. You also can find modified BIOS for Aspire 4741 at post #1580.

    Hi again kizwan,
I have this laptop - Dell Latitude D620 with Intel T5600 CPU. In bios I have the menu for enabling Virtualization. If I run securable in Windows XP 32bit, it says - Virtualization Locked On. If I right click on securable and "run as" current user, it shows YES for virtualization but with a mention - click for more - where it says that bios might disable this feature.
So, is the virtualization working in this laptop ?

Hi, Mine is Dell Studion 1555. Which was stopped working when I tried to upgrade my bios from A07 to A11. Now I want to go back to my old bios A07. Where can I find that, when I downloaded it from Dell, it is an EXE file. Where can I get my bios file in WPH format.

    Dell Studio 1555 A11.rar

EDIT: Just rename the 1555_A11.ROM to BIOS.WPH.

that is so prompt response. Thanks for your help. I will follow this process.

    1) Create the CRISIS disk using USB flash drive
    2) Disconnect any external devices, battery & power cord
    3) Plugged in the CRISIS disk to your Dell notebook
    4) Press "End" key
    5) While holding the "End" key, plugged in the power cord & then release the "End" key (DO NOT PRESS THE POWER BUTTON)
    6) The notebook should automatically powered on
    7) Let it run for 10 minutes, just in case
    8) If the recovery successful, your notebook should automatically restart with working BIOS.

Please let me know if I miss anything. Once again thanks

BIOS recovery doesn't require DOS bootable drive. You'll need CRISIS disk. You must create the CRISIS disk in Windows XP. Install Windows XP in VMware or VirtualBox or any virtual machine software.

I have acer aspire notebook model 3680-2682, what version of bios should i be updated too?

also, if the acer driver download site stops at some point updating, are there any other places to update?

and should one not use other models to update to a newer bios?
are specific acer models bios different?

i found this link to a bios updater scan, is it known to be good or is it no good?

one last thing, would i have to update my current bios to enable virtualization and speed stepping?
    Thanks for any help.
