    I have tried this BIOS version in my Acer 9810 for enable VT, but i still got only 3GB in WIN 7 64bit. Do anyone know why?

    Is there any possibility to skip or turn off the memory test in POST?

    When 'repackaging' the BIOS I won't have to follow special procedures I hope? Aside from it being more difficult to find which module serves for the GPU for example the rest of the procedures is the same to edit my BIOS correct?

    Zippyshare.com - GT525M_BIOS_N5110_A07

    This is the bios module of the GT-525M in my Dell N5110 using bios version A07

    Nibitor can't load the bios but it does recognize the model correctly.

    How can I recognize the voltage table or the clocks table myself to mod the bios manually? Can someone help me getting started with undervolting?

    These are default voltages:
    0.85v
    0.95v

    According to my look-ups. You have a X3100 Media Accelerator. According to its specs. It has no dedicated memory. But it has up to 256MB shared memory available.

    And about that buswidth. I don't think you can make two cars from one car. Unless someone can state me wrong :)

    You may be able to overclock your media accelerator using GMABooster. I am not sure

    The 3GB usable memory from 4GB of RAM is common issue on this laptop. It's due to chipset/BIOS configuration. I don't have solution for it yet.
    Modding Nvidia VBIOS is difficult especially Nvidia mobile GPU. Which NiBiTor version did you use? I found NiBiTor v6.0 on the net. There might be newer one. Check over here. I don't know how to mod it manually.
    The modified BIOS for Aspire 4920 is available at post #782. You might be able to increased the shared video memory. Your notebook don't have dedicated graphic card. So, there is no dedicated video memory.

    I have version 6.03

    According to the supported GPU list, my GPU should be supported.

    Now if NiBiTor doesn't work I will have to manually mod the clocks and voltages itself.

    Said that, I need information on how to recognize them. But that information seems hard to find because no one seems to even care.

    Could it be possible the clocks and voltages are encrypted by Dell? It can't be a coincidence it is voltages and clocks and the rest works...

    Hi Kizwan,
    After some testing I discovered that all the hidden options can't be changed, the bios shows them but after every reboot all changes to the hidden setting (only those that were hidden) change back to default.
    might that be that there are some locks in the bios configuration?
    Thanks again

    Hi. I'm trying to find out if Acer Aspire 1680 / Travelmate 4000 Phoenix BIOS has hidden menus, but i have no clue where to start. I'm new to BIOS modding, i have just successfully added SLIC 2.1 to my custom BIOS (with battery and 48-bit LBA mods) for my laptop, posted at mydigitallife. I have no problem in trying any mods you can think of, because i have ACER crisis disk and USB floppy drive.

    Reason: all 3 USB ports of my friend's computer (same model as mine) don't work, he gets BSOD when anything is inserted. It's a real hardware problem, check this topic at tomshardware, and from Hellboy's experience its a bad mofset. I got him a PCMCIA/USB2 adapter, it also gives him BSOD with mouses, printers, gamepads, but not with pen drives (low amperage?).

    I'm hopping there may be a hidden USB menu in BIOS that can be unhidden, so i can disable the USB ports from BIOS and hope that's enough to disable USB voltage, so at least a mouse can be connected to the PCMCIA/USB2 adapter without a BSOD...

    EDIT: Link for the original BIOS, and Link for the custom BIOS (battery and 48-bit LBA mods) and custom BIOS with SLIC 2.1.

    @johnye_pt,

    The hidden settings in the BIOS doesn't link properly. So, I unable to unhide them. Sorry. Also, I checked the USB settings, there is none.

    @yankeeone,

    If the settings reset, either the original BIOS is buggy or the hardware itself is not compatible with the settings. I can't do anything about it.

    @djjonastybe,

    I don't know. I don't have experience on Nvidia VBIOS. Usually the clocks & voltages can be readable (HEX). Don't ask me, I don't know where both are located in the VBIOS.

    @kizwan,

    I've got a positive reply on another forum, it seems there are lot of settings in a hidden Intel Advanced Tab but probably none is for USB, anyway he will post a modified BIOS if/when he is able to unlock the Intel Tab, and i will repost it here ;)

    Hello there,

    I have got an Acer TravelMate 5742G notebook with dedivated Nvidia graphis card.
    Unfortunately Acer has hidden the "Display Mode" option in the Bios, so it is impossible to switch between the integrated Intel IGP and the dedicated Nvidia GPU. :confused:
    Could anyone of the experts here around this board help me out by unlocking this (and if possible some other hidden features)?

    Here is the download-link for that Bios:
    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_1.24_A_A.zip?acerid=634495956904584093

    I am very thankful for any help I can get!

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    TravelMate 5742G have Insyde BIOS. Sorry, Insyde BIOS is not supported here. Please go to BIOS-MODS.
    If you're interested with BIOS 3211, please go here, I already mod it. If you want BIOS 3212, please wait.

    Aspire 4750, Aspire 4750G, Aspire 4750Z & Aspire 4750ZG use the same BIOS which actually Phoenix SecureCore Tiano (UEFI). Anyway, sorry, UEFI is not supported yet.

    D901C with QX9650 tested. The " Frequency Ratio" option works. It controls my CPU's multiplier.
    But there are no options higher than 9x,the default multiplier.
    I can only downclock it to 6x,7x or 8x.

    Thank you for the feedback. You are second person reporting "Frequency Ratio" + extreme edition processor working for downclocking, not overclocking. PsychoUsagi also confirmed (read here & here) that even after forcing higher multiplier, it won't overclock & notebook will unbootable. Will need to reset CMOS to allow notebook bootable again.

    (Copied from Wiki)
    Basically a replacement to BIOS.

    BTW, I'm still learning UEFI. When I know how to mod it, I'll announce here (IF I decided to support it).

    Kizwan,

    Can you please revisit your work on the 7552G bios with me? I have applied your mod bios without any problem, but I do not see a setting to enable hardware virtualization in any of the now unhidden menus...

    According to your post on bios-mods, the bios for the 7552G does have an option to enable VT hidden:

    Bios Mods -The Best BIOS Update and Modification Source - Phoenix BIOS unlocking possible?

    Did you not unhide it in your bios mod? I also tried using symcmos on your mod bios, and the original 1.04 bios, either way, [0375] was set to 0001 already, I tried changing to 0000, either way VT/AMD-V, does not register as being enabled by the vmware test program.

    It is so dumb that they would disable hardware virtualization on a quad-core cpu, but I thank you for your existing efforts that got me this far, and any new insight you could provide.

    Can you do a bios mod that would unhide this option, and/or verify which value to change with symcmos?

    Thank you!

    Are you using this modified BIOS? I didn't unlocked VT in this modified BIOS. I might have forgot about it last time.

    Anyway, VT already enabled by default with BIOS v1.04 & v1.12. Did you tried installing 64-bit OS in VMware? Might be processor you have doesn't support VT? What processor do you have?

    That is the bios I am using, yes.

    The processor is an AMD Phenom II X4 N950, which should support hardware virtualization just fine as far as I know.

    I've used the vt.iso, per:

    VMware Communities: Trouble-shooting Intel VT-x Issues

    Which says virtualization is not enabled on any of the cores.

    The troubleshooting page only pertaining Intel VT-x: "It does not pertain to AMD-V (aka SVM) on AMD hardware."

    Please try install 64-bit OS in VMware. If it is successful, that means VT is enabled.

    @kizwan

    upon installing bios version 3207 and 3211 on the 8935g I noticed there is no vt option available is this because it is always turned on so would be it pointless having an option to turn it off in the bios?

    Thanks for all your hard work

    If VT option is not visible (in CPU Control Sub-Menu), that means processor you have is not VT capable processor.

    Aspire 7750G have Insyde BIOS. Sorry, Insyde BIOS is not supported here. BTW, Intel HD 3000 is not enabled in Aspire 7750G. There is nothing you can do about it because it is not connected electrically.
    I don't have solution on this issue. Due to chipset limitation, only 3GB usable from 4GB.

    Does it say something like 4GB available, 3GB usable? Windows XP/Vista/7 32-bit are limited to 3GB RAM, Windows XP/Vista/7 64-bit can use RAM above 3GB.

    Recommended by nando I have been directed here to you Kizwan!

    I am looking to have my bios modding to allow my new 4850 mxm card to run on the internal lcd as well as external which works fine. Presently the internal remains grey and unresponsive. Can you help.

    Also on another note the option to change to AHCI is non existant. However considering the motherboard is a modified P35 chipset and running the components in the sig I know the hardware is capable of ore than IDE...

    My laptop in a Asus C90P and the bios is american megatrends I think not phoenix can you help?

    Many thanks!!!

    I referred you to this post as a place you could see that the bios modder kizwan exists. Per the title, this area might not the right place to request modding an Asus system with a AMI bios core. bios-mods.com or mydigitallife.com are the best places to seek a bios modding service.

    Is this Extensa 5235? Why your BIOS file is different compared to original BIOS?
    This is known issue on 945PM/GM chipset but I don't have the solution. Sorry.
    This might cause by corrupted MXM structure in the BIOS. Please go to this thread:-

    Noted. I will use the original BIOS image. Please wait. It may available next week.
    You can find the modified BIOS over here. However, there is no option for SMART found in the BIOS. If you got the SMART warning message, you'll need to backup all of your data because HDD failure will happen anytime.

    Just an update. If you want to mod Nvidia VBIOS (mobile GPU), please go here. Ask Saltius.

    OK. I'll mod it later.
