There is a 64-bit flasher in the 5920G vs. 9600M GT thread. Not tested, though - my machine has an Insyde BIOS, which has no problem updating from 64-bit OS.

This is Phoenix SecureCore Tiano BIOS. It's UEFI. UEFI mod is not supported yet.
The flasher, included in the package is actually for DOS. You'll need to create a DOS bootable disk (using USB flash drive), put all of the files from the package into the disk & boot with it. Then run the .BAT file. The alternative is use the 64-bit flasher (Winphlash64). However, I do not recommend flashing BIOS in windows.

    Disable enhanced C states.
Then your CPU should run slow. Not sure why you would want that though.

Also check the link in kizwans sig and try to find your PLL, see if you can get setfsb to work so that you can underclock from windows.

Also you can download throttlestop and lower the multi to underclock from windows.

Aspire 3830TG have Insyde BIOS. You're asking in the wrong thread. There are several thread for Insyde BIOS. You can ask help there.
That is BIOS for Aspire 8942G. You shouldn't flash BIOS that is not for your notebook.

    Hi Kizwan!!

I'm the one that asked for a modded version of Acer 7738G Bios v1.20, and then for a modded v.1.13 (that has a later build date).

First of all! There was no stability issue right now and all the cpu features are unlocked! SO YOU ARE TRULY GREAT! :D

There is just a strange issue regarding battery charging...

The battery can charge only when the laptop is off and only if you unplug the battery, press the power button for 5 secs, and reput the battery in... now the battery start charging (with relative red light).

But if you power on the charging stop, it seams right after the video post and before the bios post. (to restart charging you must re-do the above procedure)

I have tried with unmodified 1.13 and the problem is not present... but i have reflash again with you version cause i can't stay without all that features! ;)

Can you do something about it?

    Thanks in advace!!

    Hi dioskey,

It's very unlikely the source of the problem is BIOS. Whatever it is, it's hardware issue. You need to pressed the power button for 5 seconds show there are electric charge residue left which interfere the battery controller chip from working normally. Try unplug everything, including RAM module, battery & hard disk. Press the power button for 20 seconds. Plug everything back. Hope this solved the problem.

It could also be the charger. It gets overloaded when you are trying to charge while running.

    Hey there.

I was able to install the modded bios A12 on my Dell Studio 1558. Here is my problem though. My secondary hard drive that is installed on the ODD sata port is negotiating at 1.5 gbps instead of 3 gbps like the primary drive. Is there any way to fix that? I would like my secondary hard drive perform as fast as my primary hard drive.

    Thank you very much,

    Jeremy J Visa :D

Thank you for your excellent work on this bios.

When I am in windows 7 64 bit, my benchmarks are also considerably slower than my primary drive. Is there anything bios related that can help? Or is the speed issue limited by the chipset?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

    Hi jvisa,

Good question. I don't know for sure but (referring to 1555/1557/1558 schematic) ODD connector have less pin-out compared to SATA connector. So, this might be the reason why the HDD connected to ODD connector is running at SATA I (1.5Gbit/s).

    EDIT:-
I found SATA Control Register in Intel 5 Series Datasheet. With this register we can set the 3Gbit/s speed. However, don't put your hopes up too high just yet. I still need to study this.

You can find the modified BIOS for Aspire 5630 (BIOS v3.60) at post #212.
Aspire 4750G have Phoenix SecureCore Tiano BIOS (UEFI). UEFI mod is not supported yet. Anyway, VT should already enabled by default on this notebook. Did you tried installing Windows/Linux 64-bit OS on VMware? If installation of 64-bit OS on VMware is successful, this means VT is enabled.

Please read carefully. In that post already explain how to flash BIOS using either Winphlash (32-bit) or phlash16.exe (DOS). Proceed at your own risk!

You can find instruction at first post how to create DOS bootable disk.

I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5560g. I love the performance, but the BIOS is terrible. I planned to upgrade it to faster memory, but that's probably pointless if I can't adjust the timings.

Is this BIOS moddable? How do I find out? Thanks!

    Hello kizwan,

You can modding a new bios?
    Based on this one ( Aspire 8942G 3109 Microcode MOD-TEST R4.rar)
Bios 3212, 3314 and 3315 were not good, because this was my SSD is not often recognized.
Bios 3212 is not there anyway, because of this the Ram had not fully recognized.
Your Biosmod (Aspire 8942G 3109 Microcode MOD-TEST R4.rar) is still the best for me ...
Would be fantastic if you could integrate my settings from ACFanControl!
    For an Acer Aspire 8942G Core i5 - 450M.

ACFanControl my preferences are also suitable for an Acer Aspire 8942G Core i7.

    maikvalberg
that has already been tested, he has a Core i7 - 720M.
My ACFanControl ini -. File fits perfectly with him.

    Thank you!

Intel P7450 doesn't support VT. You can't do anything except upgrading/replacing it with VT capable processor.

    Hi Chaosstorm,

Where did you get this BIOS from? Are you sure this BIOS compatible with clevo w860cu and w870cu? Can any clevo w870cu owner confirmed this? Did you already flashed your notebook with this BIOS?

P/S: Please answer all questions. People tend to answer only the last question.

    Thanks for the quick response:
1: The clevo w860cu owners thread. A long time ago people where talking about it, but to be of use for me, I kinda need your mod :) (to enable bios overclocking wich was in the bios you generated/unlocked, works just like throttlestop but then automatically and in every OS)
2: Yes, I have flashed it about half a year ago already and others have done too, it enables the w860cu raid modus/options.
3: I dont know, but i know w860cu owners can, its a original mysin bios and apparently the w860cu and the w870cu motherboards are the same.
    4: yes, see answer 2.

Its even on the frontpage in the w860cu thread, and its there already a long time, but it lacks your options :D

    @Chaosstorm,

I have visit Clevo W860CU thread & this alone proved the BIOS file is for Clevo W860CU. I'll mod it for you. I'll update here when the BIOS file ready.

Since Clevo/Sager BIOS update usually contain BIOS & EC firmware files...well you know the drill. :) Make sure your notebook currently using this BIOS.

Kizwan, do you also have knowledge about vBios editing?
I want to change my Mobility 5870 to FirePro M7820.
The flashing of my 5870 to M7820 worked and it showed catalist pro, but it only worked with DVI output and only in low power settings.
Im using 3ds max and that firepro card would give way better peformance ;-).
