I already unlocked everything I know.
What are you trying to do exactly?
Aspire 5560G have UEFI. Sorry, UEFI mod is not supported yet.

I try to unlock the hidden menu using your tutorial. I succeed to dump the Bios setting from NVRAM. But when i try to change the value (0141), I can't locate it. The value is not found, and I stuck at there. So I am wondering if my laptop bios can be modded.

How do you know you need to change the value for Token ID 0141?

That is a solution specifically for 3820TG notebooks. You have different notebook & different BIOS. First you need to find this information:-
    Code:
    (strings)
    4D02: Loc of text "Intel"
    0550: Loc of text 02 4D

    (templat0)
    0CA1: Loc of text 10 0A 50 05 00 00 19 32 43 32
2nd bytes, 0A is the total length from 1st bytes, 10.
          "1st table"="50 05" (item), "2nd Table"="00 00" (description), "3rd Table"="19 32" (first function), "4th Table"="43 32" (second function)
^^Remember the above is an example. The value are different for your notebook.

This is what you need to do.
    1. Firstly, go to first post & download the PDF file (How to unhide/unlock hidden menu in Phoenix BIOS Setup Menu).
    2. Then, follow the example in PDF file. In the PDF file, I show you how to trace Intel Virtualization menu. Use the same steps to trace "Intel" menu.
      You should get this:-
      Code:
      (strings)
      501D: Loc of text "Intel"
      0536: Loc of text 1D 50

      (templat0)
      10B9: MENU Loc - contains locations & values text 36 05 00 00
      --> 000010B9 10 0A 36 05 00 00 [B][COLOR="Red"]86 3E[/COLOR][/B] [B][COLOR="Blue"]B0 3E[/COLOR][/B]
      10 Generic Text
      0A Length
      36 05 - 1st table: Offset in STRINGS (Item)
      00 00 - 2nd table: Offset in STRINGS (Description)
      [B][COLOR="Red"]"3rd Table"="86 3E" (1st function)[/COLOR][/B], [B][COLOR="Blue"]"4th Table"="B0 3E" (2nd function)[/COLOR][/B]
The important information you're looking for is the " function" offset (see the red & blue text).
    3. When you have the "function" offset for "Intel" menu, load TEMPLAT00.ROM file in IDA Pro. At menu bar, click Jump \ "Jump to address...", insert the "function" offset & click OK. "function" is actually subroutine which is responsible in "Intel" menu behavior. The behavior including whether the menu is visible or not. You'll need at least basic knowledge in assembly language to read the subroutine.
      1st function: 86 3E
      - Jump address: seg000:3E86
      Code:
      seg000:3E86 ; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
      seg000:3E86 push bp
      seg000:3E87 mov bp, sp
      seg000:3E89 call sub_3E8E
      seg000:3E8C pop bp
      seg000:3E8D retf
      seg000:3E8E
      seg000:3E8E ; =============== S U B R O U T I N E =======================================
      seg000:3E8E
      seg000:3E8E
      seg000:3E8E sub_3E8E proc near ; CODE XREF: seg000:3E89p
      seg000:3E8E push dx
      seg000:3E8F [B][COLOR="DarkGreen"]mov ax, 22Bh[/COLOR][/B]
      seg000:3E92 call sub_5B14

      seg000:3EAF

See " mov ax, 22Bh". This show TOKEN ID is 022B.
    4. Finally, when you get the TOKEN ID, you can use symcmos.exe to set the TOKEN ID value to 1.

Hello, I'm from Russia (I use the translator Google). I have a problem with a notebook Emachines D440. I think a good solution would be to lower the voltage in the BIOS. The standard setup is not. Is there help?

UEFI doesn't always come with a mouse-driven GUI. E.g. InsydeH2O's setup and boot screens tends to look indistinguishable from PhoenixBIOS.

    Hi Kizwan,

Don't know if you missed my post or not. Would you be able to mod the latest BIOS release, v1.15, for the Acer Aspire 7745G to unlock all hidden menus and such please, or explain how I could do it myself maybe?

Here is the download link: Aspire 7745G BIOS v1.15

    Hi All,

I'm afraid I'm only be able to work on the BIOS after Xmas. Sorry for any inconvenience. Don't worry, I have all of the request with me. Happy holidays!

    Still pending:-
    - <strike>Aspire 7745G (11 Dec, mod newer/latest version)</strike> ( Done! Post #1039 - 29 Dec)
    - <strike>Dell Studio 1555 (27 Nov)</strike> ( Done! Post #2837 - 27 Dec)
    - <strike>Packard Bell EN TR86 (28 Nov)</strike> ( Done! Post #2839 - 28 Dec)

    NOT in pending list:-
    - Aspire 2930 (19 Dec, VT menu)

@ Sergey1964, you can use RMClock to undervolt the CPU or replace thermal paste & clean the fan if CPU is overheating.

@ dadomar83, I'm glad to hear everything OK. For the time being, please try use ThrottleStop to enable dual-IDA mode (IDA on both cores). For the BIOS mod, I'll get back to you after holidays.

To everyone who requesting VT, please check your CPU specification at AMD or Intel website. CPU must support Virtualization (VT-x) before you can use VT-x. If CPU does support VT-x, I will add your request in "pending" list. Thank you.

i want to upgrade my Acer 8935g CPU and GPU to (Q9200 & GTS 250m) I already have a Q9000 in it. Whats the best approach? shall I update bios to the acer 3212 first or after installation? or should I use the 3212 MOD bios?

can this be done on this machine? from what I've seen only one person has the Q9200 ES upgraded.

also how do I go about flashing the bios and making a backup of my currwent one just incase

Indeed I do, I have recently upgraded to an intel t9550.

Once again it does support VT-x, it's a t9550 from intel.
Thanks for doing this I really couldn't do it on my own neither find anyone able to do it for me.
A Merry Christmas and much thanks!

Sorry, I must have missed it when I checked it earlier. It turn out modified BIOS for Aspire 5737Z already available. You can find it at post #1653.
Which modified BIOS did you use? I asked because the modified BIOS for Aspire 5630 contain original VBIOS (GPU BIOS). For BIOS recovery please refer to BIOS Recovery Procedure at first post. You'll need CRISIS package to create CRISIS disk. You also need a floppy disk, real floppy disk. This means you need USB floppy drive.

Basically just proceed with the CPU upgrade. BIOS mod only required if you get microcode update warning/error message during boot. That's all. Also if someone already successfully upgrade to Q9200, it should work on your notebook too.
    Hi Torment78,

You cannot use phlash16.exe with UEFI. You need Phoenix UEFI flash tool for Phoenix UEFI BIOS. You can skip BIOS version check like this:-
    Code:
    pflash.exe /sa BIOS.ROM
If you're using WinFlash, create PFLASH.RSP file in WinFlash folder & the file should contain this:-
    Code:
    -sa

The extension is not important. The BIOS file can be either .ROM or .WPH, sometime .BIN. Just make sure the file is BIOS file.
I don't know TravelMate 5630. I only know Acer produced Aspire 5630 & Extensa 5630. Where did you get the modified BIOS file?

If OS boot, you can do blind flash. Prepare a DOS bootable drive, put original BIOS file & phlash16.exe in it. Also create "autoexec.bat" file & put this in the .bat file (assuming BIOS file filename is bios.wph):-
    Code:
    phlash16.exe bios.wph /x /s /c /mfg /mode=3

Hello, Im wondering if anyone could makea modified BIOS for the Acer 5560G-SB448 that would allow me to use the discrete graphics card (currently the only options are integrated and switchable graphics), and to allow the enabling of AMD's Turbo CORE technology.

Belarc lists my current BIOS as Phoenix Technologies v1.09.

    Thanks.

    * The fan trip-point may not able to control the fan speed. On notebooks, usually fan is controlled by Embedded Controller (EC), not using standard ACPI fan control.

Please make sure your notebook can recover corrupted BIOS with CRISIS disk before flashing BIOS with this modified BIOS image. I will not responsible for any problem. Good luck. :)

    Hi kizwan, hi @ all,

i have an TravelMate 5620 and i have successfully updatet my Bios with your "Aspire 9420 BIOS v1.24 MOD R9_4.rar"
the problem i have: i can not see the "advanced" settings button. why?
could anyone tell me, what happend?

    thx so much,

PS: sorry for my bad english...

Edit: I found some details in kizwans PDF "Unlock Hidden Menue in Phoenix Hidden setup menue tutorial" i think that this Mod does not help me by my problem to set the clock multiplier to a higher level... (i like to overclock my TM 5620 without the setFSB tool)
it only enables the VT, right?

Please take a picture of the error & post it here.
Aspire 5560G have Phoenix SecureCore Tiano BIOS. It's UEFI. Sorry, UEFI mod is not supported yet.

(P/S: I'm looking for guinea-pig to test my UEFI mod. PM me if anyone interested.)
    Hi,

The Advanced section only contain infrared menu (just one menu). This BIOS only contain VT menu for enabling VT-x. Unless you have extreme edition processor, you can't change multiplier, either using BIOS mod or tool(s). I think you mean, increased the bus speed. I don't know how to do that in BIOS. You'll have to use SetFSB. It's not expensive at all.

    Thx for your answer :)

increase bus speed, right... i am using SetFSB, but my windows always freezes after i change the speed... i have tried serveral settings but nothing works :-(

I have read your post "http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-components-aftermarket-upgrades/401017-overclocking-acer-laptop-6.html#post6839268" this is the same clockgen as in my travelmate 5620... does SetFSB work fine in your Aspire?

    Herjendil

PS: Thx for your great work in this Forum!

Last time I use, SetFSB worked fine. Possibly you increased too much?

    Hello,

The modified BIOS for Sony Vaio VGN-C2Z can be found at post #449. AHCI Configuration menu is located under "Advanced" \ "Workaround Control Sub-Menu" \ "ICH Control Sub-Menu" \ "Integrated Device Control Sub-Menu".

I don't know for sure. It should support CRISIS recovery. Hotkey to trigger CRISIS recovery is Fn+Esc too.

You need 5 or 6 (don't remember right now) quality posts to get PM rights.

Cool thanks, Still not sure how to go about it - Increasing the Video Ram beyond 256megs via the UMA - it's still locked at 256 megs

What other settings changes will allow the locked VRAM to be unlocked besides the UMA setting? The 3303 bios mod dosent unlock the Acer Aspire 6530 bios video graphics settings completely!
