is there anyone who can share VBIOS of 9300M GS for Aspire 9920G? you can also email it to me([email protected]), i can upload it and share to everyone.

@ catalyn21,
Didn't it get resolved that the 9920 needs, .NetRolller 3D's SBIOS flash and VBIOS flash? You have to read through to find it. You should be looking for blackened87 posts, or others. I can't remember where they are so you'll have to look. However the links for the SBIOS and VBIOS's on .NetRolller 3D's first page are not working. Sunhx_2013 has apparently scoured the internet and uploaded them so you'll have to find out what to do.
@ Jammed Death,
There's plenty of them on the TechPowerUp website. One will probably be marked Acer. Most of them will likely work, but flash to the most recent to start with I suppose. Really though I don't know what you are asking. Are you saying your card is not working in an Acer laptop?
@ orangemerc,
The T9300 should plug and play in the 6920, and the latest acer issue BIOS runs it. (I'm judging that on the 8920 same board same SBIOS version running the T8300, with the same Penryn core.) A blue screen at this stage suggests a faulty CPU.
What do you mean when you say your 9600M GT showed no desktop. Do you mean the laptop booted, but you got no image? If that were me, I would flash the vBIOS to another version from TechPowerUp's site. Someone before on this thread did the same process with a GDDR3 version of the card, and got it working fine. Otherwise if the laptop refused to post it's something else, but I'm not speculating any further until I know what the error is.
@ 9600M GT users,
I posted on page 234 of http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/396320-acer-mxm-models-cards-234.html that the 9600M GT seems to be working fine with the nVidia issue drivers again. -
yup, i got pc booting but no screen...don't know how to flash a vbios without screen...tried in blind mode (with bootable usb key) but no fortune....there is a way to put the bootable usb key with vbios that start flash automatic and restart notebook when it's done? I do not have another notebook to flash that card
-
@Jammed_Death : you need external display, connect laptop to your TV or regular monitor to flash VBIOS will make it done.
-
already tried, doesn't work, no signal...tried the vga and dvi port on the notebook on a 2493hm samsung
the laptop is a travelmate 5720g i have no info about it because everyone on the internet have the aspire 5720g gghhghghg
ps: if the vga is broken the notebook won't start at all right? But i get to windows, i can hear the windows sound -
@ Jammed Death,
Well if you're thinking the vBIOS flash didn't fix it, I would try a different version vBIOS. It's tricky though doing blind flash. You need to memorise or write down every keystroke before you proceed. ( It starts something like: nvflash -4 -5 -6, followed by the name of the vBIOS. Then I think you press 'y' and then 'y'. I may do a flash in the near future so I will write down the right method for you if I do.) Remember though you have to have the vBIOS file in the right form, to complete a flash. It downloads as a rom file, and if I recall correctly you have to simply rename it as a bin file. If you didn't allready, check that.
Generally if you have no picture, I think it is worth pursuing the vBIOS flashing. Either the card has become defective or it has an incompatible vBIOS with your lappy. Other users have got around this with flashing to another version. Someone had a 9600M GT 512MB GDDR3 which gave no picture. It was the same card in the same 8920 laptop as me. They read which vBIOS I was using and flashed it to the same. It worked. (There are different Acer versions for different Acer machines aswell.) Another example is I have a 9600M GS which works in a (.NetRolller 3D modified SBIOS) Acer Aspire 5920, but it won't give me a picture in an 8920. Unfortuanely for me there are no 9600M GS vBIOS's on the web, except the one I put up on here.
I think you should carry on with trying again, and with another vBIOS version, if there is one. Though you may have got everything right, and so my advice may be no good to you. In answer to your final question, a defective card would not always prevent a boot, that is for sure.
In answer to another of your previous questions, I presume Acer use 'Yuan' or 'MSI' vBIOS cards. That's because you can read this in the service manual. Acer vBIOS's are listed under Acer in the TechPowerUp stuff. Sometimes Asus versions are compatible too, but when they are they often mark them 'same as Acer'. -
thanks for the complete info...the only problem i have now is that i can't confirm if the vbios goes fine or not because it's blind...i read something on the internet about blind vflash, beep that you have to hear during flashing and some, but no luck...the only way is to get a visual...in that way i can flash all the vbios i want to try...some pages ago i was asking about a modded bios for the laptop so maybe i can start with a external monitor or something, there is one in the first page but i can't try because link are dead and i don't even know if can solve my issue
edit: i was even thinking that the travelmate 5720g bios is locked for ati but i can't be sure about it, that's because i want to try a modded bios -
Oh right yeah. I see you're still needing the SBIOS, as you put on page 102. Really though I think I'd started off answering your post on 105 about Acer vBIOS. Anyway you're stuck by the look of it. You could try doing what Sunhx_2013 has done, to find a copy of the SBIOS. I'd say 'letitbit.net' looks like a place to start. Or at least Sunhx_2013 could tell you how to search specifically for the SBIOS files it if you can't figure it out.
Aside though, I think you should be careful about the fact your fan is not spinning with the 9600 in. It's possible that the vBIOS is OK, but the SBIOS is not supporting your card. Hence .NetRolller's made the fix.
I would guess though with almost certainty that VG.9PG0Y.007 carries Acer vBIOS. You should ask .NetRolller 3D or someone what the Travelmate 5720 fix is for though, as that might help you. Some of the laptop's SBIOS's would mostly run the 9600's, and the fix was minor, depending on how you look at it. -
yes, for what i was reading on the first page there is a bios that work for me (travelmate 5720g fix) but i can't find the link...i was about one month looking for it but i find only "aspire" model :/...the not spinning fan let me think that in fact the laptop doesn't recognize the vga so a vbios is useless without sbios (sbios=motherboard bios right?)
-
TravelMate 5720G - MXM-II, HD 2400XT, X2500
that is what I can found over internet and it was confirmed by Acer, Maybe you can replace your card with anyone of them.
I did not see any post about mod of travelmate 5720g SBIOS, and you can BING it to see if you can find something , just use "travelmate 5720g BIOS 9600M" as keywords or something like it.
Good luck. -
already tried, i find only my questions or about aspire series

Hello !
I'm new here with problem on Acer 9920g. I can see that this forum is very good with a lot of good solutions.
I have Acer 9920g with dead original graphic card 8600m GT.
From someone I did buy 8600M GS 512MB card from Acer, but now I have picture only on external monitor.
Is there any chance to fix Vbios to make it work with 9920g ? Can I use some other available vBIOS for 9920g (for example vBios from 8600M GT or 9300M GS or 9500M GS or 9600M GT)?
Netroller, can you mod vbios 8600M GS to make it work with 9920g ?
Any suggestions welcome.
Best regards -
try my post here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...ussion-x920g-vs-9600m-gt-105.html#post9016709
try search bar at the top next tim before ask for something. -
I already saw your post few days ago and download all files, but I didn't find anything for 8600M GS.
Did I miss something ? -
please download mod pack for 9920g at bottom, you can find some *.bat file in ZIP, it looks like 8600.rom is universal for some cards include yours; try it on your own risk since it was not confirmed by anyone in this topic.
But I will suggest you return 8600M GS and get your money refunded, a 9600M GT(C1 version) will be much more faster to handle latest OS and software.you will need to fresh SBIOS first before you install 9600M GT and fresh VBIOS after you install the card. -
Ok I decide to buy new card.
I don't need very high speed graphics card since I don't need it for games or other graphics intensive programs.
I did found some new videocards on ebay. Are they all compatibile with my Acer Aspire 9920g ?

What determines if a card works in a specific notebook or not? In the http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/396320-acer-mxm-models-cards.html thread it says thata my extensa 5620G wolud work fine with a HD4650 but my local repair guys said that any ATI won't work as it came with a Nvidia card (says X2500 or HD 2400XT in the thread though). Someone else faild to upgrade a Travelmate 5720G with a 8400m GS even though that's the card my 5620g came with and they share both mobo and BIOS. How can this be possible and most important of all, what are the chances of me getting my 9600m GT to work? I'm waiting for the MXM mod now but don't know if it will it help me. Is there anything else I can do?
-
i am an example of failing the travelmate 5720g upgrade...still do not know how to buy to get a good upgrade...
-
9300M GS is the same card as 8600M GT in 9902g, just make sure you get acer version and fresh VBIOS of 8600M GT in my post will make it work.
-
No, 9300M GS is a true 9xxx-series card. You are confusing it with the 9 500M GS.
-
I did order 9600M GT 1024MB new graphics card yesterday. I will report if it will work on 9920g when I'll get it.
Netroller, Can you tell me if there is any known way to enable my temporary graphics card 8600M GS to work on 9920g internal LCD. It works well on external monitor connected to DVI and VGA. -
i've FX570M (256 ddr3) with HP vBios..it's seem to be the same of 8600m gt.
Can i use it to fix my 9920g? -
none on ebay or alibaba can confirm if the card works with my travelmate 5720g...there is a specific code for the compatible 3650hd?
i have only m86-m
i have asked directly to acer but they give me a phone number only to buy and no other info
edit: called acer and they pass me through 3 or 4 departements...last conclusion was that i can only put a ddr2 vga on this notebook and now i'm waiting for an estimated price -
-
example: the VG86M06.003 got 512mb ddr2...the one compatible is the .004 or the .005 but i can't remember wich one -
It came with a 8400m GS but when i try to put 9600m gt 512mb ddr3 it starts like normal with fan and lights but the screen stays black and doesn't seem to get to windows as I don't hear the sound. External screen through DVI doesn't help either.
-
@ t.bear
That's the same as the 5920 did with the 9000M series. .NetRolllers 3D's fix worked. There is a mention of the Extensa 5620G/Travelmate 5720 on page one, but the link is still not working. Your news might give netroller a clue though, since the fix was listed experimental. I can't help though, I'm just adding the correlation to the 5920G. In .NetRolllers 3D's words, the 5920 "it flat out refuses to POST with a 9600M GT". -
Acer 9920 + 9600M GT. If your card runs too hot, go to nvidia control panel - 3D settings and change "multiple monitor performance" to "single monitor performance". Now your card wont run always at full clocks, it can downclock itself. Idle clocks are much lower and your card is cooler
-
so the acer answer me, they ask me € 220.58 (lol) for a anonymous VGA BD.N10PGE1.DDRII.1GB
can find what the hell of vga is that lol -
@ Jammed_Death
It's GeForce GT130M -
wow...and it works on a so old laptop? Maybe it's a rebrand? And most important: worths the money? Or i can find it at lower prices?
edit: for what i'm founding on the net it's a mxm III vga...am i wrong? -
Actually it's mxm 3.0a format, newest, different and will not fit into old mxm II or mxm III socket.
-
i hope they got drunk at acer
-
i have a GeForce 9600M GT in an Acer 6930g and it keeps shutting itself down randomly usually when FM2013 or Media player is on, could the issue on page 1 be the one causing this, i cant see a flash file of the 6930g.. anyone help?? its doin my head and cant even see where i can find an issue log after the restart to see the issue? i have no conflicts in drivers or in the device manager according to the system.. its pissin me off no end
-
how can i download the bios for a acer aspires 5920g? i don´t understand the web page to download the file.

Hello !
Today I receive new 9600m gt graphics card for 9920g.
I did flash moded sBios for 9920g / 9600m gt and 9600m gt did work on external monitor.
After that I try to flash vBios 9600.rom and I get warning "Firmware image PCI Subsystem ID (1025.0142) does not match adapter PCI Sbsystem ID (10DE.061C).
Anyway I forced it with 'y' to flash my 9600m gt card.
When I restart computer, on external screen there was only colored squares or vertical lines, but after some time windows starts anyway - I hear windows startup sound.
With blind typing I reflash back backuped vBios and I have now again screen on external monitor.
Is there any way to get proper vBios that will work on my 9920g in combination with 9600m gt ?
Please Help ! -
@ tonko1,
I doubt I can help much. I wondered if you had managed the 9920 SBIOS flash successfully. I used to have 9920, and as we all know now they would display externally with a GPU other than the specific vBIOS 8600M GT. I don't know if the 9600M GT would though, because I never paired them. Someone will know for sure. (Knowing this might give you a clue where you SBIOS flash is at.) Anyway, if I remember right, 'blackened87' did a fairly well detailed info on how to get it going. I'm sure .NetRolller 3D went into specifics on it too. You'll have to dig. Well done on the recovery flash on the GPU though!
The warning: Firmware image PCI Subsystem ID (1025.0142) does not match adapter PCI Sbsystem ID (10DE.061C)
I think that's nothing to worry about. You see that all the time. Even if you are reverting your GPU back to the vBIOS it had initially. -
Hi @ all,
first i want to thank .NetRoller 3D for his awsome work. And now my problem.
I bought two Acer Aspire 7520G with a defective video card. into the one I installed a 9650M GS DDR3 and flashed sbios for 5520. Of course I had to modify the radiator and remove the sd card slot. then have a 24 hour test to run through with Unigene tropics what he did without a crash.
the second I dont wanted to convert the cooler and bought myself a 9600m gs. has purely fit very well. I also flashed the sbios which has solved the structure fail. now it is a little strange. under win7 x64bit it is not possible for me to install any drivers. neither no a setup or on the device manager. under win7 x32bit I can only install a driver via the device manager. each driver and I was able to activate windows aero.
I read with hw monitor the temps and have noticed that remains under 3d load voltage of the graphics card at 0.9 volt. so it will not be 100%.
and here I am asking for your help. I think that I need a mod vbios for my 9600m gs.
I am German and have the most written with google translate.:hi2: -
I feel i really have to say for some reason so i'm gonna be a little bit of an hole.
Are still messing with that ty cloud storage? I say that because I'm pretty darned sure they are just jerking you around. On the other hand you could just be to busy to re upload, life does get in the way.
On that note there are better/other file hosting sites. I uploaded the latest modded Acer 5920G bios to Megaupload.

My 5920G is rolling along just great with a modded bios and PLL unlock mod along with an overclock.
It's rocking a T9300 (2.5ghz) @ 2.96ghz, 5gb ram DDR2 79x mhz and a new MXM 2.1 Type II GT 240m.
The only thing that bugs me is the Intel logo at boot has white background where the bios has a black back ground. I know the gfx are moddable but, I have no idea how. -
Hi everybody,
I have an acer aspire 5720z laptop. Recently I bought a videocard (asus gf9650m GT). I installed windows drivers but with the latest version after 20 sec the display goes blank/system freezing/system restarted. If I can start the games quickly before freezing the games run good (eg: sniper elite v2). When I quit the game after 20 sec it's freezing again (the system). If I install nvidia 182.67 driver the system is not freezing and it's running good but the games are not running. I read in this forum that the problem is caused by the systembios (0.90 v ) when the card goes to low power state. If somebody have already modded the system bios can give me a link for download or advice how to fix this problem.
My system is acer aspire 5720z /t9500/4gbram/gf9650m gt
original bios link till (1.42) : ftp://ftp.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5720/vista/
here little bit newer (1.45): Download
I tried the method written in the top of this page (with the pref table modification but it's still not working, and I flashed back the original vbios.
Thank you in advance. -
@.NetRolller 3D Some time ago you mentioned maybe up dating the intel video bios on the icl50_1.45_black_edition_40.fd bios, any luck with that?
Also you enabled efi, wonder if there might be a way to upgrade that? It is ver 1.10 and I think windows 7 or 8 needs 2.3. Or do you know how to make the older version work or a good link with some insite?
FWI windows 7 and vista crash for me with the icl50_1.45_black_edition_40.fd version. I am not sure but I think it is a video issue.
Thanks for all your efforts,
Don -
I can confirm that the 5520 bios does work on the 7520. However the text in the top row where the tabs are, is a bit strange. Every tab sais "Menu". Not that big a deal. So far I didn't find anything disfunctional and it runs great with a 9600m GS.
As in the question above, I had to trick windows into installing the driver by copying the hardware ID into the .ini file of the driver to recognise it. -
Some weeks ago I had a problem with the driver instalation in windows 7x64. I solved the problem with the drivers of LaptopVideo2Go. i overclocked my graphics card to 750MHz, now i can play dead space 3 in low settings with 60fps.
@ happyshark: try out the modded driver from laptopviedeo2go or do ti like Pietjuhbel. -
@ .NetRoller 3d (and any other people with similar skills)
i need your help.. :-( i just killed my G/F's laptop!!
I flashed the vbios using nvflash from a usb stick and now the screen is no display the fans spin and laptop doesnt do alot either.
I was trying to fix a error on boot up something about "invalid mxm please update rom!" known fault i see ;-) .Any way laptop is Acer Aspire 5520g Running windows 7 Home premium 32bit using Nvidia 9300m GS 512 ddr2 card
The file i used said it was right and sucsessfull but killed the display upon restart.. i do have the original vBios file backed-up to my other pc. the origininal did work in a fasion but i dont know how to get it back onto the vga card and i only brought if for like £60 last week
i found a company in wales recentrly who will get the file of my choice back onto the card but i need a better version as i dont wont the same error message after all this hard work and expense
the vga card is as follows
nVidia GeForce 9300M GS 512MB MXM Laptop Graphics Card G98-630-U2
ORGINIAL VGA BIOS VERSION was - V62.98.4A.00.00
i dont mind paying for your time as long as the file works ill be happy ..
best regards -
hello robsmith39,
maybe you can fix the problem if you reset your system bios. remove the RaM´s. among them there is a small connector with the signage j1.
connect the contacts with a small screwdriver. reinstall the RaM´s and start the laptop. -
The answers are either:
YES (enter)
y (no enter)
YES (enter)
y (no enter)
or
y (no enter)
YES (enter)
y (no enter)
Furthermore, the mxm structure error isn't produced because of the vbios. There is a rebuild system bios to fix this problem. Actually I'm running the same bios on a 7520g. -
@ Pietjuhbel
thank you for this information however sadly i have allready tried this blind flash .. i have tried it so many times it make my brain hurt .. also i made a .bat file which was intended to make the pc speaker beep from dos. the file works on my main pc and on my spare laptop booting from the usb stick but the laptop with the broken vga card doesnt! beep , so i am presuming its not even getting to boot from usb nore is it loading doss at all..
yes i have seen the modded system bios's on page one however the links dont seem to give me a file nore do some of the later ones in the threads maybe somebody has one that works so that i would fix that problem after i fix the vga vbios. ;-) -
@freetree777
hi there im not really sure this will help but if u would supply a little more detail on the location of the j1 connector id surely have a look into it. i feel that the reply from Pietjuhbel is what i need to do however please read my reply to him for fruther update.
thanks again for the time taken, -
