Hello, I tried to use SetFSB, increasing the voltage, decreasing the multiplier, and even tried to use the old ram (samsung) lowering latencies, but apparently the X9100 does not want to go to 333 mhz of fsb.. . Well anyway, I do not care much, because right now I can overclock up to 3.6 GHz stable with maximum of 94 ° playing Need for speed the run, in medium details and 8x antialiasing having 19/25 fps, which is absolutely wonderful

Ah, maybe it would be appropriate to change my cooling fan (I have the SUNON) apparently because the temperatures are a bit high ... What do you think?

Hi Nik! Do you increase the V in SetFSB or in modded BIOS?
You have modded BIOS right? Cause your OC.. I'm dummmy
What is the max ratio for the X9100 i heard its unlocked..
3,6GHz is pretty though Whats are the settings?
11,5x313FSB?? is your RAM running on 1252MHz?
What is your thermal grease?
Do you really think that The Run need that amount of GHz?
I got an advice for you
Sell that CPU to Tunay - he wants the X power
And get yourself an P8700 and a good graphics like a HD5730M or 6770M or at least GTS250M.

Hey! Another question:
In CPU-Z i the SPD section I can check my RAM operating frequency:
There s a info that my RAM is able to work on 609 (1218MHz) on timings 8-8-8-23 tRC=31.
Is there a option to get this frequency with a CPU O/C 3,04GHz? (1/2)=(FSB/RAM)???
C'mon Tunay please help me! Where are you? -
Yo Nik becareful when O/C, I understand that u are happy with speed and temps, but remember the more O/C you do, the less life time your CPU will have. I will order X9100 in future, but for sure I'm not going to do any O/C...

Hello everyone, well here are the answers ...
to owner5739g: Well I must say that It's not at all wrong with the modded bios, but almost certainly you will know that even on this BIOS, the multiplier and voltage are not present, but of course with throttle stop (and then the multiplier) , is able to raise the voltage / multiplier also windows (this is possible only with versions "X" as for example my X9100), but unfortunately our laptop, does not have a very good heat sink, and therefore beyond a certain limit, because of the temperatures, you can not go ... However, as I said, for the moment, even raising the voltage, and decreasing the frequency I don't think you can raise the FSB (certainly I will try to do more tests). For the moment, the maximum frequency that are able to reach without problems, is touching the 3.7 GHz to 1.33 V if I remember correctly, the only problem then, is only the cooling system (I have only raised the FSB and multiplier so 266 x 14). My thermal paste, I have no idea what brand it is ... But it works, and also good. As for the cpu instead, I think I'll keep it at least another 3 years, and after I will change directly the notebook, also because I already had and still have a P8700, and I must say that is not bad, but unfortunately I do not enough, and as for The Run, I can assure you that, 3.6 GHz are the minimum to play, partly because I also tried the P8700, but I got 12 fps yes and no ...
to mikemilk: not worry so much now that my laptop will last a maximum of 3 years. -

That sucks, have you tried to increase your timings with MemSET?
I think it is more your RAM then CPU as it is running on high voltage.

As requested (P.M.) link for modded BIOS is updated:

I currently have the gt 130m and it runs most my games at low-med. I'm waiting on my 4670 to arrive and Ill let you all know how it works out. My cpu will be my biggest bottleneck since it only T6500. I need to upgrade the cpu soon since I think that what is holding my ram back.
-
Danzigmisfits, can you please download this http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2065j/GPU-Z.0.5.6.exe and upload your vBIOS?
-
I have the same problem, I have the T6500 CPU at 800MHz stock and I'm running 8gb of ram 1066MHz, I wonder if I can OC my cpu FSB to 1066MHz, but the problem is, if I do OC do I really have to remove that white wire from fan? I beliave that if the cpu reach high temps it should turn off isn't? I'm not sure what to do...
-
Cmon it will not burn
LEave the white wire like it is.
MAybe first OC and see how it is Im sure it will be ok, but when not the cut the rope -
Don't cut the white wire. You'll go insane with the fan noice. I've just tried to overclock my T6600 with one of my RAM sticks from ACER. It went rather well. I were almost able to reach 1000Mhz without any modification on timings. But this is on my ASUS with nForce chipset, I'm able to overclock with 1mhz fsb at time. Give it a go, on worst case you're laptop will freeze. Don't forget to increase timings... (higher timings = slower RAM sticks).
-
I have the latest bios from acer website, it shows the version as VO.3310 using CPU-Z. My ram is running at 800mhz and fsb:ram is 1:2 ratio. I cannt adjust the timing or setting for my ram under bios. I messed with "MemSet" to change the ram setting under windows but resulting in instant reboots.

Another question
When I'm playing on battery i've got 1/3 of the frame rate while playing on AC.
In windows its performance mode.
Is there any way to get max power on battery?
I know it will it it much faster.
My friend got an ASUS and there is no problem like this.
Tuney the newest modded BIOS is UPDATE (8 Dec 2010): Aspire 5739G BIOSv3310 VT MOD R3.rar ??
http://forum.notebookreview.com/6268861-post32.html
Just checking I have to do a bootable pendrive and copy the modded bios on that pendrive.
After booting type phlash16.exe /x /s /mode=3 bios-filename ???
Or just Take everything out of BIOS rar to root of your flash drive. Then boot in to it and type phlash16.exe ?? -
Everything out of rar to root of your flashdrive.
And type phlash16.exe, yes. Read the guide. -
Can I do a copy of my old BiOS?
How?
Hey!
Got my modded BIOS and SetFSB, i managed to get FSB 333
I't means 3,33GHz and 1333MHz on my 1066MHz RAM def.timings.
Temps did not go up (could not do a long test due instability in IntelBurnTest which stresses the CPU at most).
Some results:
T9550 2,66GHz/RAM1066 vs 3,33GHz/RAM1333
SuperPI 1M: 17,3s vs 13s
IntelBurnTest 17,5GFlops vs 21,5GFlops but unstable ....
now everything is stable, changed ram timings with MemSET from 7-7-7-20 to 7-8-8-23
EDIT
3Dmark 06 tested 2,66GHz gave me 2425/8220 3,33 gives me 3022/8547 (CPU SCORE/OVERALL) !!!!! AMAZING PERFORMANCE
HERE are some CPU-Z screens and temps.. - gonna upload again.. -
With the updated changes you guys made I was able to mode my BIO finally
Some reason when I tried before I just get "error" message. Now I need to see if I can mess with the ram settings. Thanks Tunay for the update and info, you rock.

I've done that lots a time, but seem to be a problem with flashboot you used to make the files in boot.rar bootible.
-
boot.rar?
You mean the rar achive I've uploaded?
You have to move that to the root of the USB flash. If not, ask Kizwan, he wrote that guide. -
hum ok, what I did was extract the files in boot.rar to a USB stick memory and boot from there is that right? Tell your way TuNay
-
Download files from link here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/7843686-post266.html
Then open the .rar file and copy everything to root of your bootable USB stick. Boot to USB stick and type phlash16.exe
Don't panic, your laptop will biib like a woman, then reboot itself. You're modded BIOS is ready. -
I will try this, thanks
-----------------
lol that is the one I dowloaded and didn't work -
What you mean didin't work? There is two diffrent links, but both is the same. Not every country can download form MegaShare.
-
I managed to download the boot.rar and extract to a usb stick but the problem is when I restart my laptop with the pen drive plug in, it show me that the flashboot used is a demo... and my only option is to reboot
-
That is a bit confusing. Have you used this guide to make your usb bootable?
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...enix-bios-bios-mod-request-7.html#post6280013 -
That what was missing!!! You the man..... thanks, I went throw that biib thing and system restart with no problems... Is it means that my bios as been a unlocked and now I'm able to OC my cpu?
-
YES!
Enjoy your modded BIOS -
lol I try to have a go with setfsb but gives me a black screen after I set from 200/400 to 266/533. Problably I have to do something else...
-
You know, that black screen can mean that your FSB is actually set. Check wih CPU-Z, only that will give you the correct reading.
You'll have to edit your RAM timings a little bit too. Typically to 7-8-8-24. or 7-8-8-26. I really don't know as every system is diffrent. It is like a human body, you can may take more lets say food then me.. -
I tested my 3,33GHz and It is stable in IntelBurnTest but while playing cod4 gta 4..i get blue screens... When i get to stock 266 then everythink seems to be fine. Should I play with the timings more or what?
How to decrease the FSB to for example 300?
Is there an option to get lower FSB?
Or just lower the multiplier in Throttlestop? -
You must lower the multiplier in Thorttlestop. But I higly dubt if it is your CPU.
I had the same problem as you!! Stable tests, fail realworld usage.
Here is what you should do;
First, increase your timings more, and see if it makes any changes. But go 1 at time. Eg. 7-9-9-26. You really have to try it yourself.
If it is still not stable, lower your multiplier with Thorttlestop..
Still no good? Take one of the RAM sticks out and try again, fail? Then try the other RAM stick you left out in first place..
If you still do have a unstable system, then we'll have to try something else.
I were sucesessfully able to boot with pin mod, (which increased my voltage to 1.125 if I'm not mistaken) but I were still unstable.
You can't overclock with 1 mhz at time, only nForce chipset can do that. Our laptops have Intel chipset.
Just to say, if you DO manage to get it stable with diffrent RAM timings etc. I'll buy a T9550, I've allready asked my friend (the guy I've bought the T9900 from) for the price and if he haves is. (Yes, he sell CPUs).
One last thing I need to know about your system, you still use the RAM sticks you're laptop was shipped with right? I never found stable sticks as those Samsung's. -
I was working couple hours today (web browsing, watching movies...)on FSB 333 and nothing happened. But yesterday while playing games on 333 it bluescreens..
I will play with timings maybe tommorow.
Why can't I change the first timing (7) from 7-8-8-23?
Any other timing is able to change.
Just to say, if you DO manage to get it stable with diffrent RAM timings etc. I'll buy a T9550, I've allready asked my friend (the guy I've bought the T9900 from) for the price and if he haves is. (Yes, he sell CPUs).Click to expand...

For now i just have to play with timings more.
See ya! -
I had the same issue about changing the timing too. I was unable to change the first number.
-
You can't change the first timings. That's just like that.
And, the reason why I'll go for T9550 is because then I can overclock to 333 Mhz FSB. Now, I first have to fix my timings, then lower multiplier with Thorttlestop, then overclock. That's a whole bunch of issues. Sometimes Thorttlestop fail to fix my multiplier then my laptop crash on boot, sometimes MemSet delays, my laptop crash...
If T9550 is stable, it is just one click overclock, which will be awesome. -

Hi Guy,
If your laptop is stable, it is not really necesarry. If you however experience bluescreen and crashes/freeze you can try to increase the RAM timings.
We're not able to do this in BIOS, you'll need to use 'MemSet'. If you're not able to find it, let me know I will upload it for you.
Let me know how it turns out.
