The gpu will only be damaged if if you don't recognise how much pressure is being applied. Mine simply fit straight I'm my 5935g with I believe 1mm thick. But it could be thinner. I bought a bag of them when I had my 5920g a couple years ago.

Can you tell which is max temperature for this card? Currently, while chrome is oppened, its temperature is 55 C.
-
Any gpu had a max temp of 105c so some say. Mine runs up to 90+ when over clocked running furmark and prime 95. Mine tends to idle around 30-45.

Damn, that`s hot.
whith my processor, that is heating like a beast, I have to do some modifications whith cooling system...
i`m installing HD7xx0M drivers.
Whohooo. Drivers for 7770M are installed and my card is working now. -
Enjoy. That is the reason I have held off on a x9100. Maybe in the future when they become even cheaper.

I want to buy T9900 E0 stepping - this cpu is not so hot and has outstanding performance, as X9100. =) And, they are cheap for now.
First of all, you applied thermal-paste to the heatsing, than put on it copper square, than applied thermal-paste to the GPU? -
The X9100 E0 in the market place goes for $200 now. Is there a room for modifying the cooling? You can get some ideas from my overhaul topic if you want
-
Added: I think, that heat-sink can be lifted up a little-bit. That`ll not damage the heat-sink and there will not be necessity on copper squares. I shall see. -
I`m interested in the following: is it possible to solder on the heatsink copper square? Does the liquid, that is inside the copper tube, will change it ability to cool or it will not?
Updated: I`ve attached copper square, it is 0.1 - 0.2mm approximatelly, but when I perform "Windows Performance Test", itwas heated till 102 C, as MSI afterburner and AcFanControl showed. Damn, it is not enough even with copper square? O_O it seems, that new thermal pads are needed for cooling ram. -
You'll only be able to solder it with a blow lamp and plumbers solder I think. But not a normal soldering iron, as the copper moves the heat away too fast. But it isn't really worth it in my opinion.

I aggry with you. Damn, what can be done additionally to cool this monster?...
-
You can undervolt as far as you can go. Take the bottom cover off when gaming/hot and put a cooler underneath. You could try some crazy mods, but it all comes down to getting more air to the fans fins which = more holes. I attempted to let air from the top get through to the fan...next to the power button. But once you peel the mesh stuff off it didn't look like it was going to be easy to get back on so mine now looks messy.
Interested in your fan control by the way. How? -
Undervolt? Is there any other programs, that can download vBIOS and modify it? GPU-Z don`t downloads it, but RBEditor can`t open it =\
About fan control - you can use AcFanControl utility. =) Here is the link/ -
Finally I got temperatures, that I wanted!
Using furmark for 10-15 minutes max temperature of video card was only 82 C!
Just put alot of thermal-paste on the GPU. Strange.
Interesting, how this card is overclockable? Avora, can you post max clocks, that you achieved with working stable system? By now, for example, it is more than enough of M4000 performance, but this is really interesting, on what it is capable.
And another interesting observation - with that videocard temperatures of my notebook are more "smooth", than with GT240M.
Other upgrade: 5739G has slot for TV Tuner. It seems, that it is mSATA slot, so, is it possible to install there mSATA SSD drive? -
I haven't had time to push it too far just yet. But Meaker got some crazy results by adding voltage.
The msata I am uncertain it will boot. Likely it won't as pcie is not the same as msata.

It probably will if you rewire the 4 PCIe related pins to 4 SATA. That's if you have spare SATA lines
I'm planing to give it a go at some point
-
-
Sure, but I don't think that you have a spare one. You can cut the eSATA or the ODD
Anyway, whenever I feel like it, I'll give it a go and I'll let you know, and I have an mSATA drive already to test it
Nice signature pictureI've made it, but feel free to use it. Spread the love of the last truly Gamerline MXM Acers

Hi guys ,
I am very happy to see that we have a forum for our lovely notebook !
Today i ordered those ram 2X 4GB 8GB DDR3 RAM Speicher Acer Aspire 5738Z 5739 | eBay
And i want yours help to order a new cpu . Now i have P7450 .
I am between X9100 and T9900 . I don't play games . I have the notebook almost all day open for downloading ,surfing on the net and other things .
I am considering to having problems with temperature with X9100 because it works on 45watts .......
The price is almost the same
What's you opinion ? -
There's a X9100 E0 for $200 in the marketplace. It would run COOL and if you feel like it, you can overclock it as well
-
what is the different between X9100 E0 and X9100 ?
I was between those New Intel Core2 T9900 3 06GHz 6M 1066MHz Slgee Mobile CPU Processor | eBay and one intel x9100 from my country with $135
I am not interested a lot for overclocking because i will not make a heavy use
ps. Ok i found the different . With the T9900 will i have temperature problems ?
Since i am not interested for overclocking and the X9100 E0 is more expensive and more difficult to find. Is the T9900 the better solution for me or you suggest me waiting for find a cheaper X9100 E0 ? -
T9900 is almost the same processor, as X9100, except two things:
1. It is cooler (it has 35W TDP, not 45W, as X9100);
2. It can not be overclocked, as X9100 can be.
So, if you don`t need over-performance, not interested in overclocking, than you need T9900 SLGEE (E0) version. SLGEE is the last version of T9900 and X9100 - it has some bugs fixed, and, the most important thing, it is not so hot, as C0 is. For example, I have X9100 C0 stepping version. It runs really hot - I had to modify little bit cooling system, provide processor with Arctic Silver 5, undervolt it using RMClock and control fan speed using AcFanControl utility. -
hi,
can someone link me "last" auido driver for win7 64bit ?
regards.. -
thank u my firendhow is ur new vga ?
-
That is a very old driver actually. If you want the latest go straight to realtek. 2.71 is the latest.

Thanks, Avora.
I thought that is latest version. I have this driver installed, it is working good.
ajoleyte, this M4000 is a monster. It gives two times more performance in games and in CAD software, than my old one.
At weekend I`ll post some benchmarks and temperatures. I can say, that after installing new card, my system is not so overheating anymore, as it was with GT240M. By the way, GT240M TDP is 23W, but M4000 is 33W.

@ propolkin
@ triturbo
Thanks a lot for the help . I will buy probably T9900 New Intel Core2 T9900 3 06GHz 6M 1066MHz Slgee Mobile CPU Processor | eBay it's a SLGEE version and i cant find at this price X9100 SLGEE version .
I am interesting to buy a ssd drive for primary hard disk .What kind of ssd have to choose ?
This for example will fit; Kingston 120GB 120g SATA3 6GB s SV300S37A 120g 7mm Solid State Drive SSD 740617212662 | eBay
Is good brand for ssd?
Can you suggest me a better ? -
maybe i ll ve it later
-
Usually, this card is about 250-350 dollars.
Alien-3-, there are some used X9100 E0 on ebay, but, I think, they were overclocked allready. I suggest you to buy T9900 SLGEE =) -
Can you help me with my questions for ssd drive ?
Every ssd drive fit to our notebook ? -
I can only say, that this is great manufacturer - it produces good RAM, flash, HDD, and SSD. I think, that every SATAIII or II will fit to our notebook to the optical drive slot, or HDD slot.

i am wondering it on diablo 3 :s

mate sory for my questions at last iam wondering did u do some fix about cooller parts in ur laptop ?
" I would buy T9900 E0 (because, as you said, you don`t want to overclock it and experiment with it), there are some offers at ebay. For example this"
i really would mate but ebay does not send anything more than 100$ electronics parts to our country -
hi everybody,
i have this notebook with intel P9600 and nvidia GT 240,
i want to boost , a little , grafic perfomance but maintain a low power consumption because often i use notebook in battery mode
what % might gain with ati 5650 mxm A(ddr3) or ati 6770m mxm A (gddr5)
and the power consumption in battery mode?
Thanks. -
To ajoleyte, I don`t guarantee, that your X9100 will work at 1.0875V correctly at high-performance mode. I searched for this voltage by reducing it to some values and testing notebook with cpu-stress-tests. When voltage is too low, your notebook will hang-up at high-performance mode. My CPU is working stable at 1.0875V - that is as example. That is first thing. The second is that performance will be at lower voltage as at 1.275V. So, you just have to experiment with voltages and find out at which your system will be stable.
To VTS, if you are choosing between 5650m and 6770m, than I suggest you to buy 6770M. It has good performance, but a little more power consumption(23W as I remember), than 5650M(15-19W as I remember) does. If you are going to buy 6770M, don`t forget, that there are ROMless versions. To run ROMless version of card, you have to put videoBIOS into your systemBIOS. Or make a soldering mod - solder ROM chip at card and than flash it, but is dangerous and demands good SMD soldering skills. And in addition, 5650M has only GDDR3 memory, 6770M has GDDR5 - that memory type is faster, than GDDR3. -

Damn. I have new problem. My DVD drive is not reading disks. Strange... Have to do some experiments with windows settings, but, it seems, that it is dead.ajoleyte likes this. -
and ur dvd problem sometimes happens to me its really strange but for me and some 5739g users says its temporary.
Did u support ur cooler for c0 heating ?propolkin likes this. -
for the 6770M is this version romless?
SCHEDA VIDEO AMD ATI RADEON HD 6770 MXM-A PER NOTEBOOK ACER ASPIRE 8935 2GB | eBay
thanks -
For ajoleyte, good luck to you in your experiments!
About DVD drive, I thought that it was a problem with drivers, strange. What do you mean am I support my cooler?
For VTS, yes, that is romless version. Just see third picture (the picture, where you can see GPU), at top left corner there are two 8-pin places for chips. One of them should have BIOS chip soldered on it. These two versions are not ROMless:
V1.
V2.
Before ordering, ask the seller to send you photos of exactlly that card, that you are going to buy. Post them here, after that I`ll tell, if this version really has BIOS chip soldered on it. -
thanks  -
propolkin i have the same problem with the dvd drive
My solution?
As i almost had never use it ,in place of the dvd drive, i have installed a second hard drive .(the original hard disk )
In the first i have installed a new ssd samsung 840 evo 120gb -
Hello everybody
Yesterday i received my new Samsung RAM 2x4GB DDR3-1333Mhz PC3-10600 M471B5273DM0-CH9 (i had 2x2gb ddr3-1066Mhz)
I have already changed my primary hard disk with an ssd Samsung 840 evo 120gb
Now i am waiting for the new cpu T9900
I made a refresh on windows experience index
On hard disk i have a new score 7,7 (5,6 with the old)
But on memory (RAM) i have the same score 5,8 .
Why happen this? -
Because it's downclocked @1066MHz, that's how the PM45 handles it. Anything above 1066MHz would be downclocked to meet the requirements. So now you basically have more of the "same". Enjoy the more room and don't bother the numbers. It's the real-world experience that makes the difference, not the numbers.
