Yes. PPL should be SLG8SP513V, a BIOS reset and clean install of OS should fix it.
-
So I have tried to flash the bios of my 5739G, but I was getting "bad command/Invalid File" and the "easy way" link didnt work, so I was wondering what my options were now?
-
That method is working and is the easiest way. Downlod the file again, it can be corrupt download. Format your USB flash drive and try again.

guys ii can run gts250m on 5739g??
how this card will work in this laptop , it will be better then gt240m
ps. can some one help me becose my laptop is overheating -
-
How would u handle chipset overheating? I think its a problem for me.
-
I think this will answer your question: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-components-aftermarket-upgrades/612685-hardwire-fan.html
-
can i update gpu from gt240m to gts250 on 5739g ?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yes you can but the HD6770M would be significantly faster
-
akbisw,
Did you have any problems with your 6770M when you installed it on your laptop? I just got my 6770M a few days ago, and it did work at first. When I started to run the Windows Experience Indexer I got a black screen so I restarted and the computer will not power back on with the 6770M installed. Still works fine with my 4670, though. -
Sounds like a faulty card to me.
-
Sounds like that to me, too. I'm trying to get the guy at alibaba to understand that but he keeps insisting the card is good because he tested it before shipping it out.
-
He had another faulty card shipped to one of the other 5739G owers. He can't for sure test each card before shipping. Just link him to this thread. I'm also looking to buy from him, but not going to unless faulty ones get replaced.
-
Even if does test them all, everything can fail even if installed correctly (as any trained professional will tell you). As you know, it is pretty easy to change out parts in our laptop.
Also, who was it that had the problem with the 6770M in their laptop? -
After jumping through so many hoops for the guy on alibaba, I told him I just want a replacement part or I am going to file a dispute. We'll see how it goes.
And his response: He says he'll test it when I ship back to him. -
What you can do is to make a video of the failure. And say that this isin't a good situation for him as seller to be. If your problem dosn't get solved, we, atleast I will always tell people to avoide this guy. I wonder if it was Crossfire GTI? Try to PM him. Also, is it only one seller on alibabawhatsoeversite with this card?
I however, emailed ACER to ask if there was any other genuie acer sparepart resellers. Also linked them to this therad, wonder what their response is going to be. -
gts 250 will overheating in 5739g?? , i must have bios mod or anything else to work this graphic card ??
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The GTS250M is quite a hot running card.
-
It may run hot, but I don't see it in danger zone tbh.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Well the 5935G which coped with the GT240M and HD4670 (overclocked) would shut down with the 250M at stock.
-
hmm can i overclock 240m?? if i can what i must to do and how much i can oveclock this card i had 33C temperature on running computer first time if he be runnig some time temperature are 39C ,
what temperature you got on your laptop whit this card.
Ps. sorry for my bad english -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can overclock it, idle temperatures mean nothing, it's the load temperatures you have to worry about.

I thought it was you that had the problems, Crossfire. I did the same thing, telling him I didn't want to have to open a dispute or leave negative feedback, and he gave me his shipping address. Did he tell you he would test it when he received it?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Hey guys, if you get a refund and want a card that works
-
then guys buy gts250 or overclock 240m??
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Why waste the money on the GTS250? Either overclock your GT240M or get a 6770M, nothing else makes sense.
-
Let us know the results guys.. If you get a new card or not.
-
I just shipped it today. 6-10 business days to get there. I hope it actually turns out that way. I now regret not buying "locally".
-
Lol Mine will be up for sale soon when I build my desktop so You can always buy "locally" if you like. Meaker I was actually able to get 875/1125 on my card but that required like a table fan, a dual fan notebook cooler, and the bottom cover to be left out. My heatsink is garbage. It was awesome when it was new. Now its total garbage.
-
-
I actually have another fan as well. I switched to it and my acer doesnt shut down anymore while playing bf3
. I also did something stupid, I sanded the heatsink for the cpu now highest temp for cpu is 81C after 2 hours of BF3
. GPU is exactly 80C
after 2 hours of BF3. I LOVE IT.
Now if only I can overclock the cpu to 3.3ghz or close then I think I will get much better frames. I play on low. but still its okay. -
Bro, congratulations.
Do you use the FAN with green or black lable?
I haven't still recived my new fan. I also wonder, what is your room temprautre? -
room temp is 65F. ALso I broke off the plastic grill that was at the end of the heatsink on the back of the laptop, temps went down even more.
There are two manufacturers. ADDA and SUNON. ADDA might make the better fan. Im not sure. I remember when my cpu was 30-35 idle and 60-68 load. But that was T6600. So it was a low end cpu. For T9600 and T9900 80+ degrees is expected I guess
btw can you play BF3 beta on your ACER? I get 40+ frames 45 average on everything low. Medium settings Im getting 30+ frames. But with low settings it feels pretty good and enjoyable unlike Bad Company 2 which had a "laggy" feeling even though I would get 60 frames. -
No x-posting please. Post deleted since there's another thread on the issue.
-
I have kinda given up about everything with low idle temprautres, as fans goes off at 25C. Which makes my second fan mod useless as I reach that idle temprature with just one fan too. My room temprature should also be somewhere there.
Yeah, two diffrent with two diffrent colors of sticks. Black and green if my memory don't fails on me. As far as I remember, black one, ADDA is what I got from zandparts which I didn't like. It is much louder then the green one, SUNON. But I'm going to dubble check that tomorrow as I have both fans so we can get the manufacturers right.
I also discovred something, as you may know, I'm not using my ACER now, my GPU or RAM sticks are dying. I suspect both at this point. However, I orderd a new ADDA fan, and going to order new RAM sticks and some other parts. Like keyboard and stuff. However, back to point; my T9600 is running at v1.250. Which means, I could easly overclock it to 1333 Mhz with my ACER with T9600. I will test that as soon as I have a weekend where I have nothing better to do.
All laptops I have used untill this day, from my Qosmio and above have had either T9600 or better CPU so yes, I can confirm that 80+ on that is kinda normal. I'm actually more worried about the Chipset temprature of my ACER rather then CPU or GPU.
Ah, I have quit gaming to be honest. So I have no idea about that, sorry. -
Got response from ACER SUPPORT, seems kinda good so far. Still trying to find ACER genuie parts reseller.
-
Lemme know how you overclock the T9600.

Hi!
I'm new to this forum (so I might have missed som information, but I did try to find some info, though the search function seems to be out of work).
I'm about to upgrade my computers processor, from the C2D T6600 to something faster and more shiny. My questions are as follows:
The T9900, will the cooling be a problem with this one?
Anyone got the C2D X9100 working?
From what I have seen around the forums, different RAM speed and CPU FSB speed is not desirable, but will it cause the system to be unstable? The RAMs I have now are two 2 GB DDR3 at 400 MHz thus 800 MHz FSB. The processors I've been looking at runs at 1066 MHz. Will that be a big problem or just a slight lack of performance?
I guess that i will upgrade them too but that will be a later upgrade.
Thanks for response!
And sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Hello and welcome to NBR!
As creator of owners lounge, I'll be glad to help you with your questions..
first, ACER cooling does handle T9900 quite well. The question is how old/new your heatsink is. And what FAN you got. As far as we know, there are two manfactures for the FANs.
Nobudy have tried X9100 yet, but from what I've have been working on, most likely it will work. I can't gurantee you anything, but you have a good chanse of get it working as 55W CPU have been confirmed working, althorugh it overheated. But then again, the X9100 have lower W. I have tried a QX9300, it didin't work. But it was a ES. If you try the X9100, you will be the first, and have one of the most powerfull Aspire 5739G out there.
Yes, diffrent RAM speeds, always a question, but the diffrences are minimal in real-world-performance. But if you are like me, every-bit-makes diffrence then it's a whole another story. I like when things are maxed out, when my RAM speeds mach etc.
Also, why CPU upgrade? If you are not doing it for games etc. a best upgrade for you would actually be a SSD drive. Then you can try overclocking your T6600, as you have 800Mhz stick RAMs, it should actually be a noproblem for you to overclock. But again, every RAM stick, every CPU, every laptop is diffrent made, I can't gurantee you anything.
Else then this for performance, a clean install is always recommended, as well as updated drivers..
Feel free to ask if there is anything you're wondring about. -
Thanks for the help! Lots of juicy information in this thread
I have the ADDA (green label) fan, and bought the computer 2 years ago.
Just so we're clear, i'm talking about the Core 2 Extereme Processor X9100, and not the quad Q9100. (Since you speak of the QX9300 I assume you've mixed them up, or was it just a comparison between processors that have higher energy consumption than the stock processor?). It would be awesome though if one could get a quad working! The reason I'm asking about that one is that it is cheaper than the T9900 on ebay, but otherwise almost same specs (tho 44 W instead of 35 W). Then of course I might need better cooling.
I already have an SSD, 60 GB OCZ Vertex II, which improved performance a lot! I replaced the stock processor and removed the DVD-burner in exchange for the old HDD. I mostly use the computer for games (Want to be able to play BF3), Photoshop, MatLab and of course regular browsing and writing.
As for the RAM, I suspect I will upgrade to 8 GB as I've seen that you did when I can afford it. I just want it to work in the meantime. Overclocking is something I don't feel too comfortable with right now(never tried), but I might try it when I know more.
And yes, reinstall makes wonders but is too damn boring for a lazy person.

X9100: Runs a bit hotter but unlocked multiplier means you can overclock it.
T9900: Runs a little bit cooler (Ignore TDPs as the difference is not that large) but more expensive and locked. -
The QX9300 was just a comparison between 35 and 44W. However, since you have a SSD drive, I would actually go with X9100. You say you are not comfortable with overclock.
First, with T9900 as Meaker said you will pretty much be locked and only be able to do FSB overclock, if you mange to rais the voltage. That must be done by PIN mod. However, with the X9100, you can use ThorttleStop and just raise your multiplier when you need it, which agains mean, it is much much easier, and hopefully, more stable since you don't overclock your RAM modules.
But again I have no idea if it actually will work or not, I can't gurantee you anything, therfore buy from a seller that accept refund, or maybe exchange for a T9900.

tell me guys how install gts250 in 5739g?
-
The X9100 seems to be it then, but i wonder about the prices at ebay. When I'm searching for x9100 i get results with the name Intel E8435 SLAQD4, so far I can't find any difference exept that I don't find it on intel.com.
Is this some "beta"-version or ES-version? Cause those I did find with that name are cheaper than the "real" x9100...

It's a very leaky (read HOT) chip sold for apple compact desktop computers that did not need the notebook levels of power consumption but less than regular desktops.
-
As Meaker say, I think I also would go with 'normal' X9100. I won't be happy if you get a hot running chip and your laptop shuts down in middle of Battlefield 3 due to overheat
-
Nah that doesn't sound too good, =P. I figured it must have been something bad about them.
Thanks again for the help! -
Beside that, ES chips are not guranteed to work on any system.
God kveld
