nobody cares because the only thing that stands out with the TG is the videocard. All laptop specs are basically the same except for the battery life and vid card...Everyone's only here because we wants both.

Otherwise You'd have to import it individually, that's what I do normally whatever notebook, since the good ones usually not available from stock in Hungary, if when, than usually with a 8-12 months delay and a huge price gap.

Good idea, I'm supporting it. :)

BTW, since I'm not that familiar with TDP rates, do You think the 90W AC Adapter would provide the i7 620M - HD 5650 combo with enough power so the system could benefit from it's real (let's say around 90%) potential?

the i7-620m is not a really a good choice, check the power consumption in this review, not worth the benchmark difference/price

i5-540m is the best, even better w/ switchable 5650

i7-620m has L2 cache with 4mb, faster clock and hyper-threading. In comparison with i5-540m, i7-620m is superior by far, and it worths the price difference.

I´ve just read the review and I have to agree that, about power consumption, the i5-540m is really a much much better solution than the i7. The benchmarks show an improvement of about 5% from i5 to i7, but i7 consumption is up to 50% higher on idle (the most important) and 33% higher on load.
Ober and Bubzers, sorry for my mistake.

When this beast comes out, I wonder what Alienware will counter with in their M11x refresh?

They're gonna have to change their advertising soon :p.

That advertising is already wrong because of the Lenovo Y460.
However, I guess Dell could claim for most of these that they're "entertainment" laptops, not "gaming" laptops XD

The Sony Z already out performs it as well. With an I7-620M, its GT330M out benchmarks the GT335M in the M11x in 3Dmark06.

This new Acer should beath them both. I came within a hair of ordering the Sony Z last month but the lack of full HD display option kept me on the sidelines. This Acer looks like the right computer for me.

Using the standard overclocking in the m11x, it does better in 3DMark06; see here. I'd say the m11x would perform better in most games, though I guess it would be much worse in the rare few games that are CPU-limited.

The m11x is better than I thought, but the screen is only 11.6" in a ~13" form factor and it weighs as much or more than most 13" laptops; plus I'm not sure that the CPU would be good enough for non-gaming use at university.

The Acer is looking good on specs, but Acer's poor international support would be a big problem for me when I return to Australia.

Actually, the Vaio Z can come with 1920x1080 display. It's only on the signature collection though.

Personally, I can live without 1080.

You're probably right that the better comparisn is with the oc'd SU7300 since that's a truer measure of the M11x's real world performance.

Intel's latest Core i7/i5/i3 series notebook processors are currently facing tight supply, as Acer, optimistic about the upcoming demand for the related notebooks, has placed large volume of orders for the processors, according to sources from the notebook sector.

Intel is giving priority to major clients, and second-tier and smaller notebook players have to wait much longer before receiving supply of the CPUs, the sources noted.

LOL, that's really pushing it I think, but good luck to us all. I'm definitely ordering one if it somehow miraculously makes it over to Canada on Monday. Highly doubt it though. :(

EDIT: So both Best Buy and Future Shop are doing a supposedly "MASSIVE" 3 day sale for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...maybe it's to clear out the old laptops to make room for the LOADS AND LOADS OF 3820's coming on Monday!??!.........I'm daydreaming.

If you don't need 5-6 hours of battery life, the Envy 15 has a lot going for it. 1080p and the HD 5830 in a ~5lb package is great, and you can get a great config for ~$1200 with the $300 off coupon. I was very close to buying one this morning (30-day return period ftw), but the battery life and SATA controller issue (?) put me off.

The official site had stated up to 8 hours for the 6 cell battery. I assume with the 9 cell you will get the 12 hours.

I could talk about being "behind" when it comes about gadgets regarding Hungarian market..Either You have what it takes to import it yourself,or stay "behind" and wait like 6 months (i.e. the Dell Studio XPS 1340 g210m system - which has a lot of known issues, and even not configurable at the moment in most countries - became avaliable in the last two weeks).
