Yes, but he's also the only one getting feedback.
Get em! -
Manual fan controlling is awesome!
@Widezu: you already got your card.. -
um seriously heihachi? which part of that didnt u understand?
not true, ive always gotten a response from them inside of 24 hours
geez, people, lets not turn this into a witch hunt here! if u cant deal with waiting for a bit and instead prefer to squeal around like lil babies whose candy got stolen u should just get urselves a 580M/675M and be DONE with it!
so just stop bi***ing around here, its getting annoying
cheers -
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
Come on guys lets be civil. I'm sure eurocom is doing the best they can to get these cards out to the public, but if they aren't properly tested and it doesn't work in your machine how much more mad would you be? Just be patient and it will all work out in the end.

That makes 2 of you then. I asked on the 11th if they were still on schedule to ship at the end of this week and still haven't gotten a response, but it looks like I just got that answer.
Also, last time I checked this is a forum. If someone wants to rant about something that is of topic, they should be permitted to do so without fear of other members casting judgement on them and calling them names. -
There is an off topic section...
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
i meant of topic...meaning within the topic
I may have used "of" wrong -
of topic = on topic, so you are correct
Going way off topic here, but Diablo 3 is sooo goood! -
Guess it all depends on the topic
I read it wrong
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
I thought so. Then I started saying it to myself over and over again and it started to sound funny.
-
seems like we won't get our gpu's shipped on this weekend
Dell is now selling 7970m's for $560.99 part number is 747M2... i just can order from dell now -
dell is selling them separately? can provide link?
-
Yes, they do. But its out of stock at this moment
call them and they will instruct you.
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
They're out of stock. You know how I know, because the geniuses at dell sent me a desktop 7970.
This is after I repeatedly asked " will this fit in a m17x r3, is this the mobility version and does it come with an x bracket."
When I called back to complain and return it then they informed me about the stock. -
lol amazing... so you got your money refunded or what? What do you think about eurocom?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The topic is their communication skills are.... lacking.
-
i think not only communication skills...... 14 days have passed sincce announced date 4th may
i paid at 24 april and soon is 24 may almost month, amazing.
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Im not sure what I'll do with it yet. I was thinking about building a system around it and parting ways with my m17x. But who knows
I think Eurocom is digging a ditch with a very large crowd that might be hard for them to get out off. -
I hope dell will restock 7970m's soon. No hope on eurocom.
-
In eurocom's defense, you were counting on a non-Dell company to provide you with a card that is 100% compatible in a Dell machine knowing the fact that their previous cards never worked 100% in all Dell laptops.
I know you staked a lot of money on it and it is quite frustrating, also their communication has been lacking, there is no denying that. But please stop ramming your opinion down people's throats. I've dealt with eurocom on many occasions before and they have been very good.
You are not that company's only customer and you should be thankful that they even tested the cards to inform you that there was fan issues. These cards were never designed for the M17x R3. God knows how you would have blown up if you actually received the cards without them informing you for the issue.
I'm just trying to keep the bickering to a minimum. Eurocom have a reputation to uphold and I think its kind of unfair that some people here are talking about "failures" when they are just trying to help out. -
Looks like the Chief has missed something.
So peeps have heard back from Eurocom saying that there are fan issues with the M17x R3?
Any other news on the GPUs with other notebooks?
Cheers.
-
I can understand them, but will they understand me? It's like an investor invest his money in some project and performer said: "deadline 4th may" and after 4th may performer saying its not ready yet, sorry will be ready on next weekends... next weekends passed same picture... that's not serious. I appreciate their work but it cannot lasts few months.
-
DirtyTrickster Notebook Evangelist
Heihachi - did you get your refund?
-
Right I understand. I didn't realise there was an actual deadline. In which case you have my sympathy
-
No, they didn't answered to me yet.
Help me get a dell 7970m i would thank you
-
I lucked out and camped outside the NBR marketplace. Two showed up within a day of each other and I snagged one from a guy who lives literally one town away from me which is rare in the UK
If I were you I'd keep ringing Dell and asking and also I'd just keep my eyes peeled for any potential sales on the forums. Who knows, maybe in a month (or two or three's
) time, the GTX 680m will be out, I'll be trying to get Dell to replace my current laptop with one with one of those, there will be a one floating around from me.
-
Could you please help me in camping on NBR? I mean if you hear somewhere about selling 7970m - please tell me
PS what do you think - will eurocom make a full refund for me? -
I'll help camp for you. I reckon eurocom will refund you, just make sure you keep track of all your comms

Hello NBR,
I want to apologize for the communication shortcomings on our behalf during this last week. We definitely could have handled this better and done more to keep you updated. I've gotten direct messages from many of you and take the feedback seriously. This pre-launch event has been a new experience for us, and we've definitely made some mistakes along the way, more importantly I feel that we've learned something from them. We're going to handle the next launch differently and here's how.
All pre-orders, whether from our Eurocom site, eBay or direct email will in the future be directed through one representative and one email address. Having a single point of contact will mean that everyone gets the same information and will reduce confusion.
We'll collect, organize and distribute our information better. Rather than providing multiple contact methods (ebay, email, phone etc) we'll have a mailing system in place to notify our customers of updates to their orders. As Meaker said a few pages back, this will save many hours of replying to dozens of emails daily and will allow us to better focus our resources on actually delivering the cards. This is an initiative that we would like to begin as soon as possible. If you would like to subscribe to our (non-spamming) mailing list, please email [email protected] with 'NBR Mailing list' as the subject. Please include your Name, email and the model of your notebook and installed video card(s).
ETAs - We've realized now on multiple occasions that we've been too optimistic with our projections and when we've had an issue arise, such as driver instability that it's easy to miss dates. We will strive to allow more room for error and unexpected happenings in our ETAs. We would much prefer to be that awesome company that delivers you your cards early, rather than the one doing it late.
I'm absolutely gutted that we've missed our ETA dates and that we've caused this much disappointment. Our poor communication has not helped us in this regard and for this I unreservedly apologize.
A few of you have spoken about refunds, understandable given the situation. I want to let you know that if you would like a refund we would be happy to grant one. We are so close to having all these cards out the door and in your hands. Despite missing our initial ship date by a fairly large margin, please remember that by pre-ordering you've secured yourself a great deal on a card, and will be beating the long queues and higher prices now in place for these cards, whether from us, Dell or another reseller. Again, if you do decide you would like a refund, please email me at [email protected] with 'NBR Refund' as the subject line and I will promptly forward the request to our Billing team for rapid processing. If you choose to do this, please include how you paid, and with which email address so we can quicker process your request.
To whet your appetite a bit for these cards, here is a video we've made of a 7970M install in an M18xR1, along with it identifiying correctly in the device manager. We've found that manual fan control via the latest version of HWinfo is required.
Youtube was displeased by the initial length of our video so we've cut the longer version we made with benchmarks, we'll get them up in sections soon. Here's a link to the video and a few benchmarks on our EM series of notebooks so you can see what kind of performance these cards can deliver.

So with the current price of $520 for the cards, the prices are set to go up yet again? Thanks for the info BTW.
-
nah i think he was just talking about the initial preorder deal of 450 bucks which then went up to 520.
thx for the update dan!

Jaybee is correct, the price for card only is still $520. Total package price varies if you need additional parts like a spreader, if you're upgrading from a 4xxx AMD or from an Nvidia card.
-
emailed you about refund.
-
Ahh got it. Thanks for the clarification. If my R4 deal doesn't work out you'll get another order
-
I don't even know if the 7970m works in my
P170hm Dan!When will you give a info for it?
Thanks -
yeah!!i need to know too if 7970m works on P150hm!!!pls give some info!!thx!

Put a tent over this circus.
-
Have they been tested in the M17x- R2 yet? I have a feeling that it's like the 6970m/6990m all over again with the Dell versions working in the M15x and M17x-R3 with no fan issues, but the Clevo/Eurocom versions working in the R2 with no fan issues. I think the M17x-R2 has a different (maybe a bit older) EC firmware than the M15x and M17x-r3, which explains how changing the VBIOS on the cards wouldn't really fix the issue...
-
Hey Ichime.
I can confirm that for now fan control via HWinfo is necessary for the R2. Other than that everything is dandy. Temps during a 6 hour Diablo session with fans maxing at 3500rpm. 67c
.
Ahh and no audio via HDMI.
This is for the Dell card. -
They seem to be ignoring these sorts of questions. After all, a simple 'we don't have any information yet' would have done for now.
-
It would be nice to see automatic fan controll with Clevo cards, a dealbreaker for me :/
-
How are you going to get Dell to replace your current laptop?
-
I send Dan a mail today,
I hope he gives me an answer soon!
Still hoping to upgrade!!! -
Good luck in waiting for another month
-
i hope we have some news these days if the 7970m works on HM series or i need to ask for refund......
-
So whats the best bet for getting a 7970m for the r3? Wait for upgradeyourlaptop or backorder from Dell? Do both cards need to be fan controlled with HWinfo?
-
Dell card works without issues, so wait for DELL
-
same to you buddy@finding another source and waiting for the backlog to clear up first
wanna bet well have our eurocom cards in hand way before you?

I'll be happy for you, if you get it faster than me
but i'm getting m18x R2 before 28 may.
