Cant believe the m17x wont fit in the IBEX. I can see it not fitting in the notebook sleeve in the main compartment, but it should be able to fit in the main compartment.

Ill really be surprised if i cant get it in there.

I was thinking about the alienware backpack but i don't want anything alienware branded on the outside. Dont want to advertise how much money is in the bag.

And i think its to heavy for a messenger bag. Especially with all the junk i carry around with it.

Hey Mandrake. Can you take some closer, more detailed pictures of the back pack. The website pics stink.

    Thanks

It closed but the zipper was bulging from it. Trust me,I liked the bag, but for the money and how tight it fit, no way was I going to keep it.

Buy it from zappos and give it a try, with zappos its free shipping both ways so you have nothing to loose.

That is actually a very cool concept. I wouldn't mind carrying my laptop in that. But would the AC adapter fit on my pants' back pocket?

I checked the dimensions and it would fit EXCEPT for the height. 2.1" vs 1.25"

Well I was going to get that bag, thought it would be cool to be able to take my keyboard and mouse and the whole shabang with me. But it looks like they dont sell that bag anymore :-(

Any Idea on where i can find it?
Or another bag that can fit the 17x with the power adapter, keyboard (optional but i thought that was cool) mouse and headset?

That stinks Juggs. The only bag I have been happy with is my messenger style Targus bag. It only pushes me more towards making my own bag and then mass producing it. My dream bag would have a solid core, with padding, and waterproof/breathable via Goretex. Was making a cooler for my M17x, but it was about to cost four times as much as the Cryo LX. Bought the Cryo and put the idea back on the shelf. Good Luck getting a bag

Hey I have read ALL of these posts and really apriciate the advice on a backpack for my new M17x! So far I have yet to find one that meets my requirements. I think that the new Slappa M.A.S.K. Custom Build Backpack will be the one I get but wanted to see if anyone here had gotten one to confirm that the M17x will fit in the laptop compartment.

Also just as an FYI. In my search for a backpack I discovered that the Live Large Verb backpack from Briggs and Riley will fit the M17x. It was the only one at the luggage shop here in town that did fit. Its abt $197 at most places and is ment to be for office use not travel which is what I am looking for.

If I find any others that work I will pass those along too . Thanks!

wow that looks like a fantastic bag .. but unfortunately according to the specs it seems the laptop compartment is 1.38" whereas the M17x is 2.11" at its maximum

I ordered the Slappa MASK bag and it came in this weekend. The M17x fits very nicely and there is a TON of room in this bag. I think it will work for me great. I am only a little concerned that it might not fit under the seat on a CRJ or ER4 jet. I got the one with the High Five face and like it. When I travel with it the first time I'll post and let ya'll know how well it works on the RJ's

Can you snap some pics of the laptop in the bag..
My laptop comes in on the 18th and I am looking for a bag that holds this monster along with everything else needed.

I am deploying to Iraq in Aug and this will be my entertainment system.
Looking for a good bag. Price is no object. Looking for a useful cool bag.

If you need a large backpack to carry the 17x and a lot of extras, check out the Dell XPS M1730 Backpack. Its huge.

For typical travel, I use the Orion Messenger Bag which will hold the 17x, 11x + power bricks + extras. A bit heavy but I'm including it as an example. There are a couple of other threads for the '17x bags' - use the forum search and I'm sure you will track them down.

@gorgie101, How well does the laptop pouch close over the top of the M17x. Does it cover it all or are the top corners exposed?

    Thanks.

I got the slappa MASK backpack too and I like it though i feel it should have a ever so slightly bigger main compartment because it is just a little to hard to zip up and i'm not sure if as time passes the zipper will falll apart from the strain i have mi17x, ac adapter, and head phones in that compartment.

I looked for a backpack, but didn't like the design on most of them. I had the XPS backpack for my M1710, and never liked it. I did find a company that makes offbeat stuff though, Zeyner. I ended up getting their Hellbound briefcase to fit the M17x. It's not technically a computer back, but the center compartment fits perfect for the M17x, and it's got a compartment on both sides for protection. It sits up straight too, which is cool. Here's a link if you guys are interested:
