    I couldn't agree more.

I tried to shoulder my M1730 and it was a very bad idea. Anyone looking for a bag should get a backpack.

You might think you'll be ok carrying it over your shoulder but the damage to your back and shoulders adds up over time.

Oh, and I am an RN so I do know what I am talking about :D

I take good care of my body because I see ppl hurt from doing stupid stuff on a daily basis.

Even with a backpack I only use a single strap and throw it over my shoulder, so it's about the same for me.

The aura shoulder bag looks nice, but I like the Matrix design and the aura one seemed a little too professional for me ;) Please give us some feedback on how you like it, as it is almost identical to the one I had my eye on.

I'm thinking I'm going to pick up the backpack now, and get the Matrix shoulder bag in September when they are available.

Yeah unfortunately I often carry my backpacks with one shoulder strap anyway. Besides the backpack I wanted cost an additional $100 which was hard to swallow. If it doesn't work out I'll just return it and keep searching.

    Yep.... Registered Nurse :D

Actually a CCRN but we aren't going there on NBR.

Anyway, I can only give my advice but ultimately it's your neck, shoulders, and back. Not mine.

It might seem fine carrying it in a messenger bag at first, but depending on how much you transport it it will most definitely start to wear on you.

Yes. Sparingly and in moderation are the key words :)

I don't want to come off as harping on you guys but I have always been a very persistent nurse and educator.

If I don't stay on my patients then they don't comply with their treatment program.

Provided over long journeys you switch which shoulder you wear the bag over there should be no more of a issue with long term damage over a backpack.

Provided you have a healthy core to start with of course.

Messenger bags only really cause issues when there used alot, consistantly on the same side. Resulting in unbalanced strength within the core section of muscles.

Any weight that is not evenly distributed over your body anywhere (not just shoulder/back) will cause strain on tendons and ligaments and, with regards to your back, will curve your spine while you're wearing it (whether you believe me or not). Your body will try and compensate by using muscles to even out the distribution.

I don't make this stuff up. Occupational Therapy has been around for ages and they do indeed do studies and research for a reason.

We nurses practice evidence base nursing with research to back it up :D

I am only offering suggestion based on my profession, of course. I love messenger bags but they aren't for carrying heavy loads.

Scrubs rocks! lol Although now that JD is gone I don't know if I'll still watch it :(

There is no such thing as a "male nurse". You are either a nurse or your not :D

I wouldn't ask someone if they are a "male sys admin" or "female network engineer"....

The Python XL is waaayyy too big. Not sure why you'd need a bag like that; or a bag to carry around on your back that big. It fits the Alienware m17x very nicely though. The material and craftsmanship is also out of this world, but $200 is way too much. Returned it and picked up the Alienware Orion Messenger.

Well, the original term was a sausage party, but fest will do.

Since we are soooooo far off topic I'' try and redirect. lol

How do you guys like the Belkin Energy Slim backpack?

It seems like a good bag if you just need to transport your system and power brick.

Bro, that's exactly what I am thinking. I need something slim, durable, that can carry a small book and extra stuff like that along with my M17x and it doesn't look like I am also carrying a tent, hiking boots, food, etc.
