Well I don't know if it's shipped yet since I changed my original order from the messenger bag to the backpack. I emailed my rep to inquire.
But I just thought of something, I'm going to receive the bag well ahead of receiving the computer, so as to how the M17X will fit I won't know until I receive it from Dell.
Sorry bro, I don't think I thought my cunning plan all the way through! I can post pics of my Inspiron 9400, also a 17" in the meantime when I receive the bag(s) I assume sometime this week.

Gotcha, if you could. When you get it, could you check to see if the sleeve fits into the pocket width and depth wise. Just to see if it could possibly fit with it in it.
-
No problem, I'll take pics with my Inspiron, at least you'll get the general idea.

I received the Notebook sleeve today, still waiting on the backpack which should arrive in 2 days, and the M17x, which should arrive in forever.
The first thing that stood out was they sent a huge box for such a little sleeve, that's because they filled it with goodies! In addition to the notebook sleeve, there is a large plain cloth bag that says Slappa on it, 2 pouches for a PSP that my son is gonna love, and a protective case for an ipod nano, which I don't own yet. I thought that was really cool!
The sleeve itself looks nicer and blacker than it does on the website, I like the appearance alot. I'll get a better idea when I see the backpack, but it seems kind of redundant and unneeded. I'm thinking the backpack is likely to protect it enough. In addition, my 17" Inspiron 9400 (15.5 x 11.3 x 1.6 inch) seemed a tight fit in there. If the M17x is that much of a beast I don't think it's going to fit.
In 2 days I'll get the backpack and can tell you more. I'm going to wait to get the M17x to really decide, but I may end up just buying a strap and using the sleeve for my Inspiron.Attached Files:

Wow..Thats the 17 sleeve right? I expected to have ample room for the laptop you have. i dont think it will fit hte m17x. Just from the pics you gave me. It came with a free bag? thats sick.
-
It goes to show how much money slappa makes off their items...
-
Clauss-
I have an idea. Why don't you overnight your M17x to me, and I'll see if it fits inside the sleeve and backpack, take pictures, and send it right back to you, I promise!
You can trust me, I'm from the internet. -
My Slappa came in today.
It came with the bag, a second cheap type of grocery bag, a sun visor for a car, ipod mini cover protector and a coupon for Burger King?...I only ordered a bag I don't know what all this other stuff is for. I don't even own an ipod mini.
Pic with M17x inside.
Another pic with M17x inside.
She's a keeper! Excellent build quality to boot. -
Lol if you lived in the area id bring it over to check it out. Luckily don lives close so if i need him to look at anything..Ill bring to him and buy him lunch...though i haven't spoken to him about it.
Also mandrake, that bag looks lik it fits the m17x perfectly. That makes me optimistic about my velocity backpack. I think I will order it now, looks like those bags are well made and have ample room for the m17x. -
-
That's a nice fit. Nonetheless, I would not want to throw the M17x on my shoulder all the time. At least it looks and seems perfect. Makes you look forward to its backpacks.
-
Hey but I got a Burger King coupon out of the deal. Bet you guys wish you could get your hands on that!
-
That was surprisingly odd indeed.
-
Shoulder/messenger bags looks way better than backpacks...
Maybe i should buy one to use with my MBP lol. 6KG in a messenger is a no go for me but i want one so bad :x -
I hope you aren't going to be transporting that M17x too much, mandrake
lol
You'll definitely feel the weight on your shoulder in that messenger back after 15 minutes or so.
It is a SWEET bag, though.. -
It's truly a DTR for me. I brought it t work today to show it off but for the most part it stays home and I use the bag as storage for my stuff.
-
I have that Slappa bag along with many others for the M17X, I loved the slappa but I hate the buckles, the way they are underneath the flap. So far the Booq Boa slimcase XXL works great for quick trips with the M17X, the Alienware messanger bag is another one of my favs.
-
^
Yeah, I always liked the Orion bags (messanger and the backapck). Mobile Edge makes pretty good stuff.... -
Drool!!!!
Nice pics! -
just ordered the slappa velocity backpack...looks dope. Hopefully here soon.
-
Hey Clauss, please do a mini review once you get that bag. I am leaning towards getting the M17x again, and I have had my eye on that bag for a while. Thanks!
Edit: Mandrake reps heading your way for the pics. I also wanted to know what the messenger bag looked like. -
Will do bubbamel I shall take pics and stuff. It looks great to me, hopefully works out.

My Slappa Matrix backpack arrived today. It's very nice, you can tell it's high quality. There is a pouch for the laptop with a flap and velcro, it's very well protected and easy to insert. By the way, in the pic it looks like there is red/pink stitching on the front of the pack, this is a result of the flash, the stitching is white.
Clauss: The matrix sleeve is definitely overkill and not needed for this backpack. Assuming the M17x even fits inside of the sleeve, once inside the flap won't reach the velcro with the sleeve on. Pictures below of my Inspiron inside the pack, with the sleeve on and off.Attached Files:

That's a nice bag. All black would be awesome without the designs, but still looks nice and solid. A picture of the side would've been nice to see the thickness of it.
Obviously good quality from the pictures. -

Thanks for the pic dude. Now I am liking it more. It looks surprisingly thin, even though it's empty.
You wanna provide me with a link to see what else they got?

Sure thing!

Very nice pics Jubal, ty for them. I will be getting mine in maybe a few days if i am lucky. What are the dimensions of that laptop you have there? cause if the m17x doesn't fit..I shall be quite pissed. though the dimensions on the site say it will fit.

17" Inspiron 9400 - 15.5 x 11.3 x 1.6 inch
It's a very tight fit in the sleeve, I have serious doubts that the M17x will fit, but I'll let you know soon!
The backpack is very roomy and there shouldn't be any problem fitting the M17x inside the backpack. I'm just referring to the sleeve. -
Damn..I was really hoping it woulf it in the sleeve....If not think I can return it?
-
http://www.slappa.com/warranty.html
They have a no hassle return policy, no restocking fee. You just have to contact them first to get an RMA and pay for shipping, which is fair. -
Think there is enough room for 1.3 more inches depth wise...Doesn't look like it from the photos...Could you do me a massive favor..and actually measure the space for the laptop width wise. Ex: m17x is 12.65. And yours was 11.3 If you could measure the actual space the laptop has to fit in there. That would be AMAZING...and maybe ill do another unboxing!
-
The sleeve is 13 inches width-wise, but once you add the laptop, it's going to lose width because of the depth, that's why I don't think it's gonna fit.
My camera is getting a workout tonight! I attached 2 pics so you can see what I mean.Attached Files:

Ohh Jubal..i was talking about the sleeve int eh backpack for the laptop...My bad, but thanks for the heads up about the sleeve itself that you bought separately. yeah, i was asking about the backpack sleeve, if it would fit there, that is my real concern. Thanks though.
-
Thanks for all the great info and pics on the backpack Jubal, I'm hoping the M17X will fit as this would be my first choice of laptop also. I wouldn't be getting the seperate sleeve, but I'd always use the cover the laptop originally comes in to prevent scratching etc.

I received the Belkin Slim backpack today. This one was for my wife. She has a 15" laptop. I am thinking about getting this one myself in black and for 17"
The quality is very good. Feels solid. It looks thin even under full load. On a first try I could fit her laptop, charger, mouse, TI-89 Titanium calculator, 2 textbooks (not the giant ones, the medium sizes), a notebook, a bottle of water, a girl wallet, a cellphone, and an additional paperback book (Contact). It stays slim.

I am really considering this one for the M17x. I would most like carry the computer, a newspaper and a book. And maybe small things here and there. It should fit good.Last edited by a moderator: May 7, 2015 -
Has any one tried out the swiss wired for the m17x? This is every thing i was looking for in a bag, if it fits.
-
Reading the first Amazon review says no: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VB6U1Q...J54S2Q&tag=shopzilla_rev_1387-20&linkCode=asn

Aye, what jubal linked. I loved the look of the bag and looked well made. Sadly not big enough for the mighty m17x. Jubal any chance you measured the width of the backpack laptop slot yet
-
Just did, technically it's 12", but it feels like it has some stretch to it. I hope it's not too tight of a fit.
-
Whata shame....i really liked it too.
thanks for the heads up
-
12...thats not big enough. Half inch too small. Wonder if it can stretch that much? Uncool slapp, very uncool..Why cant they just tell me what it really is!
-
I think it will have a half inch of play, but you'll probably know for sure before I do.
-
Well - i "thought" i'd decided the the Booq awesomeness backpack..
but...that's a big damn no-no for sure..
reason...shipping costs nearly as much as the backpack itself!! no other option available for anybody here in australia - that's $220 shipping for a $270 backpack.
Booq just lost a customer that's for sure.
-
LOL. I guess they really don't want to deliver to Australia.
-
Hey guys just got the Slapaa velocity matrix 17 backpack. IT FITS THE M17X. All of the velcro does not connect, like..1/3 connects. But ti s great looking bag, has alot of padding, not that big. Feels well built ALOT of cushion. I would highly advise it to anyone.
-
GREAT! Thanks Clauss
