So , I was able to flash it and it worked... Thanks to @Striker1234 for poking his head in this thread.

    so now , 1 issue.

The driver is not correctly installed. Has Code 43 error. I would have to play with a few drivers and hopefully find one that works.

@Striker1234 is that the vbios for the 1070?

He might be getting a driver error since the vbios is from a 1070 but the card is still likely reporting as a 1080.

If he flashed a 1070 vBIOS to a 1080, he'd have a nice shiny paperweight. More likely the driver cannot communicate with the card correctly.

Thats what I would've imagined as well, out of curiosity I rechecked N17E-G2 and everything points to that designation of the 1070. Im on sleep aids so my train of thought is foggy at best right now.

I didnt actually download the attached file, just basing it on the name of the file.

Both of those vbioses are legit but unknown from which MSI system they came from.

    Your first link has:
    Device Id: 10DE 1BA0
    Subsystem Id: 1462 11FF

    The second link has:

    10DE 1BE0
    Subsystem Id: 1462 11FF

They are both 200W vbioses so they are NOT from the MSI 16L13.

I say flash them both and see if it works.
If you get 'flickering' (after you fix the code 43 with a modded INF driver), that's because the vbios has Gsync and your card is not a gsync card.

I'm going to assume that one of the vbioses was from the GT83VR (Non gsync) and the other from a GT73VR (gsync).
Note: I do not know if the 6820HK GT73VR and 7820HK GT73VR used the same revision card or not (although bioses will work on both), and those are all gsync.

    What VBIOS did you use?

I was thinking you was about to install the 1080 MSI VBIOS no the one I attached, I just did it as reference that you could flash it without any Programmer...

Provide me you Device ID Info and I will mod the driver for you!

The VBIOS you attached has a gtx 1070 ID in the name of the file so I didn’t flash it.

Let me download the latest driver on NVIDIA.COM and mod it.

    Give me about an hour.

    *Edit with Steps to take:

    0.- Download the latest Nvidia Driver: 399.24 ( https://www.geforce.com/drivers)
1.- Uninstall the old Driver by using DDU in Safe Mode ( https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html)
2.- Restart Windows 10 with Drivers Signature Disabled
3.- Open the Driver Installer and QUICK Follow Step 4
4.- Open the Folder "C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\399.24\Win10_64\International\Display.Driver\" and Replace the attached file (UNCOMPRESS IT FIRST) before the Program finish uncompression!
5.- Install with the Clean Option ticked and allow the Driver to be installed without signature.
    6.- Restart.

    Let us know.

    Regards!

Nah, my inquiry about the WX7100 in the zbox was mostly because I dont want a paper weight if I am to spend 1500+ on one just for the 1080, know what I mean?

Then at the end of the day Ill have 2 computers, instead of one. The math is much more favorable at that point. Striker1234 did the same for his zbox 1070 but ended up with a paper weight since it doesnt boot without the GPU.

With the Eurocom vBIOS the Wx7100 works well in the M17x R4 in SG mode with the 60hz panel. Its very likely the same is true for the Aw17 R1 but that can be tabled for another time. For now everyone is looking forward to your success with the 1080 :)

All of us know that that the Zotac 1080 is eDP Capable, but his original vbios does not have it enabled since the EN1080 does not require it.

We need to have @Prema support to edit original vbios for this...

I wonder if it would behave differently in eDP with the Ranger. I just find it hard to believe that the panel is reporting incorrectly because the vBIOS isnt jiving.
