M17x (**Europe**) Order Status Discussion

yes just type your tracking number there and press track. i found it by my own too. my order status still says sent for delivery. no tracking number or link of the carrier.

this is when there are clever people instead of noobs and you dutches are very clever.

 

I got an URL in the UPS mail and I just clicked it and the status is shown...
The screen looks a lot like yours, but then this is shown:

Maybe somebody esle is seeing something different?

 

you can track a shipment with the same number at the ups system of any country. they all use the same database. the language may change i think. i entered the netherlands ups website and was english. it seems to detect your ip or something and applies the language automatically according to which country this ip comes from.

 

Could just be browser default, I guess?

tracks your order for you from your desktop (I know that's probably not as easy as just clicking the link in your favourites but its interesting atleast. you can fling him round your desktop ;p)

 

hehe i tried this too before but asks for proxy server and other settings which i dont know. so it couldnt connect and app closed. so i prefer the typical way.

woop woop my laptop is now in transit from NL to the depot about 10 mins from where I live here in England. Hope it's delivered tomorrow but more likely to be their predicted date of Friday.

I guess you guys that went into transit yesterday will have got yours today or getting it tomorrow ;o

 

my sheduled time for delivery is tomorrow. what i am thinking now is that the tracking stopped mysteriously for hours now at departure from Brussels. This was at 8.19 this morning. It should be at Barking UK already since 2 o' clock. Anyway i will be waiting for it tomorrow the whole day long and i will be away from my work to get it. If they dont i will sh.t them. i hope the driver didnt fall on a tree or something.

 

Mine too... Hope tomorrow there is this big black shiny box... which I finally can open and behold the "All powerfull" aparatus...

what a surpirse the dell rep didnt call back like he promised, and had to get another dell rep from the chat box to get him to call me (im not paying for their prenium number!)

plus calling from the home phone mum will here be talking about a laptop and go mental for me buying a new laptop (i'll never tell her how much im spending, damn she would not be impressed!)

 

How can you be that childish and still afford this laptop??

Ok UPS updated my status. Its out for delivery now. its 13km (8 miles) from where i live now!

Dell remembered to update my order status with the carrier link. lool. whatever

Did you get a status update from UPS? The first you showed only said billing received, but nothing about being in transit.

for the time being i watch from the windows every 30 seconds! lool. actually i told the man at the reception of the building where i live to call me to my room when it comes. but i think he is a noob so i keep my mind on that. how could i do differently? lool

the bad thing is that it can be delivered between 9 and 5. UPS couldnt tell me the exact time as Dell states. i dont know if this is possible for the 2-3 days delivery but for standard one you wont know when it will come. so you just wait for the angel. i still feel anxious since i ordered (10th of june! here is the OMG! ). i will relax when i have it in my hands.

 

OMG!! Since Saturday I'm trying to return my system to Dell.
I have send 3 mails to my rep so far and also arranged a return through the Dell NL website.
First they ask me for the reason why I want to return it and the date that the system can be collected. I replied I was disattisfied with the sytem.
Now they ask me again for the reason (this time the exact reason) why i want to return it.
First it takes 6 weeks for delivery now it might take 6 weeks before a return will be arranged.

 

to be honest i was expecting this! and now that the time comes i wonder about the procedure if something is not right with the m17x. i am still waiting for mine

 

The f.cking m17x just came before 5 minutes AFTER 50 DAYS. i am starting unboxing now!

and it has windows 7 upgrade option!

How can it be that yours has the windows 7 upgrade?
When was your initial and re-order date?

 

for some kind of reason i dont see any color bleeding. i will have to check it again. installing vista now.

 

look. i ordered 10th of june but they cancelled my order on 8th of july. so this order actually begun 8th of july when the order was reprocessed and it was like new order.

I thought so too at first. But there is some lightbleed ast the bottom.
I also find the screen a little dim.

Do you also notice that some keys on the the keyboard seem to be brighter lit than others. Especially key up and down are brighter than key left and right?

 

there is a light bleeding i have to see that later maybe during night.

also the keys seem to be of the same brightness. also i have to see that during the night. even if there is difference i dont think its important at all.

Mine is in Brussels right now?! After beeing shipped to France?! But it is on it's way back to the Netherlands now. For some strage reason which logistically has me stunned, it's wandering all trough Europe after arriving in the Netherlands Best 2 days ago... Strange People those Dell Alienware guys...

my m17x has minimum light bleeding. only the small line at the bottom. also all the keys have the same brightness except from the bottom line of the space button which has less brightness. i also installed my essentials and will upload my full specs tomorrow. cua

First post here, I've been hovering for a couple of weeks now.

I ordered a M17x with the following specs on the 22/07

Q9000
4GB 1333 Ram
1TB 7200 RPM HDD Raid 0
Dual SLI GTX 260m
1920 x 1200 17" display
DVD

It was funded with a dell 6 month deferred loan and my edd was 14/08

I then came into some money at just the right time and decided to cancel my order. I've just reordered with the following specs - this time I paid in full with a debit card.

QX9300
4GB 1333 Ram
1TB 7200 RPM HDD Raid 0
Dual SLI GTX 280m
1920 x 1200 17" display
DVD

and my edd is 12/08 !!

how realistic is this EDD ? it seems too good to be true. Maybe paying by debit card does speed up delivery after all

it would seem that although in the uk the 1900x1200 screen is not available if you order online via the website, it is if you order via phone or chat.

 

Finally! My system will be picked up by UPS next Monday and be returned to Dell. I will get my money back within 5 days after they receive it.
Have to pay 29 Euros for return shipment though.

Yes... I got it allright!!! And I like it! it's really beautiful! Every aspect is perfect except for the Vista part. So hopefully the W7 upgrade we got with it will fix this problem!

on this part i have to say that i feel the vista ultimate (it came with home premium but installed ultimate with alienware oem info-activation) like the win7 on my netbook. its super fast even though many processes start. it maybe the ssd or the qx9300 which you are waiting for. however i will install win7 when the time comes (official support and things) and if i decide to. i am a fan of win7 but vista run like hell now.

and an advice be careful when you dissasembly the laptop to install the qx9300. take your time. i needed 2 hours and following the guide of moo, step by step.

 

Bad news for me, I got e-mail from Dell on Friday:

"Unfortunately, the demand for the product you have ordered has exceeded our forecast and we need to revise the estimated delivery date given when you placed the order."

My EDD now is on 27/08/2009
But I know that I should have expected this delay as You guys had to wait at least 1 month.

I ordered around the same date that you did, so I hope they don't delay mine... haven't had an email about it yet.

 

What was your spec bigelvis?

They took the T9600 processor and 1200 screen off the website last week so I assume these are the main reasons for orders being held up
