I feel you're pain, mines due on the 12/08 - I must be getting close to bringing down the dell servers with the amount of page refreshing I do on the order status page !

 

Same here lol keep refreshing... even tried to fill in al my information from the start again thinking the link in my order conformation maybe wasn't udating allright lool.

 

I sure hope you dont have to wait as long as I did and then be disappointed when it finally arrives.
Mine was in pre-production for 2 weeks and in production for 2 weeks. After the shipping notification it took another week before it was delivered.

It still seems that the screen is holding things back.

BTW, mine has been picked by UPS for return shipment today.

I will drop by every now and then.

 

ok so HI everone i'm new here and I ordered an m17x this monday!
got 1920x1200, SLI 280m, 1TB RAID 0, QX9300, 8GB 1333MHz DDR3. It entered phase 2 yesterday and phase 3 today

(I'm from Holland and ordered by phone)

OMG my order status page just changed My edd went from 11-08 to 03-09 and it says it is in production since today instead of since 23-07 like it was saying before.

I'm contacting Dell about this in a minute and if this is true I'm going to flip out

 

That's scary - mines due on the 12/08 - I awaiting the dreaded edd change now ! Let me know what dell says - if they do that to mine I'm going to ask/demand for a discount

 

delays continue as i see. now that me the most unlucky one got mine someone must follow .

 

I talked to guy from Dell customet service about some compensation eg. gift card for so long delay but he refused and said nothing can be done with this issue. But please try get a discount maybe you will be lucky and then I'll try again.

I got everything exactly as it was planned! So it's not a structural thing. Dickie don't be so negative, I think it very sad to hear your story but you made your point.

Dell didn't took the screen's of the site for nothing, they just couldn't handle demand. Even the US ppl are delayed now. So if everybody who ordered just wait because it was known at the time there was a backorder on the 1920x1200 screens. Relax and just wait, It will arrive.

And "No" I do not have DELL stocks.

 

to be honest i still cant understand why dikkiedirk returned it back. was it due to the delay on delivery or because of the m17x itself? i didnt have any of the problems refered by dikkiedirk but even if i did they would be very serious to return it back.

i am very happy mine was perfect to the last detail. the screen has almost no light bleeding at all. it was something i was afraid of but i was lucky after my unlucky order history.

i now ordered a travel dell remote kit to use the IR receiver of the m17x. it costs only 3 pounds, its tiny (fits the express card slot) and they didnt offer for free with such an expensive laptop. but this could mean more delays maybe. lool

 

Hey glad to hear after all that wait and torture you were provided a seemingly perfect M17x. I was curious though, I was interested in buying the Roccat Kone for my future ATI M17x/ new M15x, could you post a picture of the mouse in a green coordinated setup with your M17x?

Today the orderstatus page says shipped so I think its still going to be here next week

The strange thing is I also got an email saying demand was to big so the estimated arival date changed to 03-09. I phoned customer service and they said it really was shipped...

But the UPS link doesn't give me any info yet Maybe its too soon after shipping.

 

Actually me returning the M17x was because of a mixture of things:

Yes, it took very long to get it delivered, but I hoped that would be soon forgotten after I got it. Well it did partly, but there still was a feeling of not being satisfied with how everything went. Also the fact that they wouldnt give me the free upgrade to Windows 7 didnt really help.

After opening the package and playing with the M17x for a couple of days I got the feeling: Is this really it? Is this worth that amount of money? And for me the feeling turned into: no it isn't. When you pay this amount I think you can expect a near-perfect or perfect machine and mine unfortunatly wasn't.
My screen had lightbleed and also a darker upper-left area. Also the keys were not evenly lit. And I didnt like the feel of the touchpad. Also for my feeling the novelty of this machine wore off rather fast. And all things considering for me it is just another laptop. So for me it really wasn't that big a step to return it. Maybe things like the screen and keyboard could have been fixed but I didnt feel like going through that hassle.

 

Congratulations! Things seem to turn out fine then. It might be 4 or 5 days before you seen any movement on the UPS site, because UPS hasnt got it yet. It just on its way from the factory to the Netherlands now. Then UPS NL will pick it up from there.

i understand what you are saying. the feel of the touchpad is not so good but i almost never use it. thus having it at 1920 x 1200 resolution makes the pointer look slow moving but its not. its the number of pixels. i understood that by changing to lower resolution for a while. not a bigdeal for me thoug.

 

I hope mine does the same because the EDD has just changed from 12/08 to 04/09 !

 

They did do exactly the same thing to me, (sending the delay e-mail). But your in stage 5 now and your EDD is 11-08, so 5 days to go... Mine was delayed aswell (As DELL was saying) but it arrived the day my EDD said. it took 5 days of shipping. So that would exactly be your EDD, (Give or take 1or 2 days if weekends are counted aswell).

 

I hope you're right, I've not had a delay email just the status page change - fingers crossed !

 

Maybe you should change the pointer speed of the touchpad, this wil probably fix your problem. It worked for me.

 

Yesterday mine changed from 11-08 to 03-09...today I got the email about the delay and today the orderstatus page said shipping.

It looks like you are exactly one day behind me so tomorow you should get the email with the delay notification and youre order status page should change to shipped. But I'm not sure if the fact that its weekend tomorow will change anything in the timeline.

Really hope you've got the same luck as me and still have the laptop around youre first EDD.

 

Yeah if you could that'd be awesome, post it in the owner lounge and I'll give you some rep for that. I'm either going to get the G9 or the Roccat Kone, I already know how the lighting of the G9 looks but I was interested in how the Roccat looks with a color coordinated setup.

 

Good news for me as well ) Today morning my orders status was changed for "Delivery" I was really suprised by this because as You know 1 week ago mine EDD was changed to 27/08, and today what a nice suprise According to UPS my m17x will be delivered on Monday next week.

 

in my case tracking link on Dell order status website was for Ups in United States and it wasn't for my package so I checked the tracking number on UK UPS website and it works and provides me actual information about my package

 

Where did You find the remote kit so cheap in Uk? I found on ebay cheapest for 6 quid, on dell website 12 quid

I hope to get as lucky as you, my status "in production" it's been there since 04/08/09 and EDD was 14/08/09. It has changed today to EDD 08/09/09 no delay e-mail yet so I don't know if I should trust it.

I'll call my rep on Monday and I'll see... should this delay info mail have arrived already? Any idea?

 

ok its 3 pounds for the travel remote kit but the rest are shipping costs. what i mean is that if it was offered with the m17x it would be only three pounds as you wouldnt pay for the shipping.

yes the screen is perfect as well. i am sorry for the low quality of the pics. they are taken from a mobile and not a real camera. if it was you would be able to see that better. and something that you cant see on the photos is the feeling of this mouse especially if you have a little bit big hands.

 

Mine is not going to be here on my EDD tomorow the ups tracking site just keeps saying bilinginformation received. So I phoned UPS they told me to contact Dell I did and Dell told me its going to be a few days longer but will still be here this week.
I'll have to wait for an email from UPS with my real delevery date because UPS hasen't picked my system up at Dell yet.
Don't know why I got the email from Dell saying my laptop was shipped and would be delivered tomorow rather contradicting.

Really hope its actualy being delivered this week....

 

The e-mail from Dell just means that it has left the factory in China and is probably on an airplane to the Netherlands. Off course they do ship only full containers and not one single laptop. It might arive here tomorrow or Wednesday and then UPS can pick it up and deliver it at your place. My guess: You might get have it by Friday.

 

The "Billing information recieved" stage took around 5 days in my case. Be patient!

 

I have the same situation, the e-mail from dell says that planned delivery is on 12/08/2009 so it's tomorrow, but from Friday on Ups site I have "Billing information recieved", I really hope that even today my m17x will arrive to Netherlands and tommorow into my hands

 

Hi guys, new to the forums, laptop entered the delivery phase yesterday and I have 'billing information received' on the UPS website, interesting thing I noticed is it says Shipped/Billed on: 14/08/2009 and it's only the 11/08/2009 today, after speaking with UPS they seem to think that's the day it will ship, what Shipped/Billed on: date does anyone else have.

 

I entered the delivery stage today, my shipped/billed is on the 17th - I should have it on the 19th apparently - can't friggin wait !

 

A few minutes ago my status on ups website changed to "In transit" and now my m17x is in Eindhoven (Netherlands), unfortunatelly delivery daye changed from 12 to 13/08/2009, but it's only 1 day delay so it's not bad

 

The UPS page just changed for me also

This afternoon it was in Eindhoven half an hour away from me but now its in Brussels and tomorow its comming this way again very weird shipping behaviour.

@ Viper My shipped date was 10-08 also before it really was 10-08.

 

It's going to France first and then it goes to holland again... Jep truely strange but the same with mine. Hopefully you will get it tomorrow else it will be the day after. Very soon you will get it.

Hi guys. I orderd by new M17x with configuration in my sig on Saturday.

The EDD is 4 September. Has anyone ordered from the UK with a similar config recently? Are they pretty much sticking to EDD or are they still messing people around due to stock shortages on the screen?

I can't wait for this beast to arrive. I've already got a new gaming mouse and copy of Crysis to test it out!

Ordered Mine on the 28/07 with a EDD of 12/08
the EDD then changed to 04/09 !
threatened to cancel my order with them and they "sped it up" finally got it on the 18/08. My specs are the sames as yours except mine is black and has the 280's. The wait is a killer but well worth it !
