    I'm from France.
I called to cancel since I was going on a trip for a few months, they told me they couldn't cancel since it was in production, I answered by asking how it could be in production since some parts were supposed to be BO (info I got from the same rep 5min ago). Anyway they told me they would speed up the process and I got an email from my rep's manager telling me they would move my order to the top of the queue, I doubt they really did but I appreciated the effort of sending a mail :)

Thanks for the advice adrian, but I think I would have checked every 10min anyway :)

whats these phases. i have never been there.lool

things seem to change but i still feel cursed for some reasons.

I haven't ordered this machine, im skint, but I think it is a disgrace that there has been a completely blatent bias towatd people who have ordered this in north america. I have nothing againt the people who ordered it, good luck, well dont, and lucky for them. But every part of this release has been geared towards them. The price favours the and their delivery schedules have been WAY ahead of anywhere else. It seems Dell EU or CA don't have a clue. Shocking in my opinion.

it would be even more shocking if you had ordered and had problems. many europe customers underwent a normal order process.

It would shock you even more that with the same base specs the US model it £440 cheaper? Than the upgrade to sli 260's and 280's cost just under twice as much in the uk than it does in the us? That many of the have had their systems for a couple of weeks and we are just starting to get ours trickling through? All that would shock you more if |I bought a system? Why is that?

None of that's really shocking considering it's been known, and discussed, since the laptop was released. People in europe will still buy the laptop because they can afford it and want it.

Hey finally a Dutchy! I see you just ordered. And exact the same config as I did.

Where in the Netherlands are you from? Im from Drenthe.

I got a mail with a planned delivery date of Monday 13th of July.
But I might return it because Dell NL still refuses to give me a voucher for a free update to Windows 7. Eventhough I have been waiting till the 3th of June, saw my order cancelled twice by Dell and gone throught a lot of frustration with Dell NL CS.

its only an upgrade... u still need to buy windows 7, then use the voucher. My rep said to phone in when i recive the machine to arrange the delivery of the voucher. as they said if i wanted it in my current machine i would have to cancel and re-order and i cba with that when i went down from £3899 to £3300, and another £100 off after the delays they made me so final price of £3200... best ive seen from anyone on this forums, im quite proud of my bargaining antics ;P

Hey Dikkie, I've already saw the troubles you and many other Europeans went through. So for me that was one of the reasons to wait a little longer and because of the Windows7 upgrade Voucher, (which I know was to come in the near future).

But I did a lot of reading before posting anything here at NBR, just not to double post anything. But fyi I am from Nijmegen.

The thing about the voucher IMO is to blame Microsoft. They simply say machines ordered after date [X] recieve a voucher. So it wasn't included in the initial order.
But if I see things clearly, DellAW do not include so much as a screw extra. So if it's not on the initial order, you do not get it. (See the 2nd HDD bracket thread). All the US people would say; speak to your Rep for this (I would), after all you still do not have the m17x and they have some making up to do.

This is not what I was reading on the DellAW upgrade Page and what my rep told me. His words where; ''you'll have fil in the web form after recieving the voucher, then when the release date of Windows7 has passed, you'll recieve the windows version, with an extra CD containing Internet Explorer and other MS appl. (Because of the European Law, (see the MS website)). But you will have to pay round about €20 for shipping. "

Correct me if I'm wrong... Else I'll have to phone or e-mail my rep again. :D

    Hi Dutchy,

Im from Erica (close to Emmen). I already spoke to my rep and he said that he would ask about this voucher, but he was afraid he couldnt do much. He did offer another another 100 Euros cashback on my config though. But that was because of the long waiting time.
Still no update though from UPS about delivery tomorrow.

On the 8th, I got a e-mail from [email protected] (Is this actually an address used by UPS or do dell people use it?) that the laptop has been picked up by UPS and will be delivered between 08:00 and 18:00 on the 13th of July (tomorrow). However, the tracking information on the UPS website still says "Billing Information Received", just like on the first day it appeared. Shouldn't it be in transit by now if it's due for delivery tomorrow? Or is it common for the UPS tracking site not to update (for European deliveries?). I'm really confused.

Well I would take the €100 discount on your order. And this would compensate for the upgrade loss to windows7. Note that the costs where, as my rep told me, €20 aswell. So that would leave you with €10 discount if you buy windows7 in the store (if prices are about €110). Also you do not need worry about an upgrade version and such. But maybe DellAW will come up with something?

God knows, i haven't had chance to speak to anybody yet. I have spent the last 2 hours putting together a long tiresome 'harsh but fair' email. It will be "fun" to see the response from that....if any.

Its actually beyond a joke now, i feel like im on a crappy hidden camera show.

While speaking to Dell if I find out there's any delay on those parts I'll let you know

do you really believe that a blu ray can delay an order for one more month?

yes i know this feeling and the bad thing is i am so cursed as you. they may have a secret camera with me here too. and they may cancel themselves again until your current 4th of August. they have plenty of time for doing so when they decide. just please contact them and tell me what they will say. my rep says that they are doing their best to prioritize my order but i think it may change as well.i dont trust anyone any more. if i see that changing the next day it will be cancelled by myself. and just to note how simple configuration i have

actually if my edd changes in three days like yours this means that it is fully pre-organized like in your case and bye bye dell. they laughed with me for a long time

paraplygic are you really from UK? i mean are you english? name and surname english?

Hey Richjuk23 & Aristotelhs2060, thanks for the sympathy guys.
Richjuk23 yeah that would be great if you could find anything out.
I will be speaking to a manager at some point this week, and i have demanded some form of official response by the end of next week.

I will definitely keep you guys posted on this messageboard with any details i get. The info we receive from Dell has been shocking, but if we all stick together and provide info on here, we will be able to workout fact from fiction ourselves.

I hope the same thing dos'nt happen to your orders.

    Keep strong guys...

    Ciao.

    My Tracking info says:
What does your Status say? I would hav tought it should say something along the lines with "in transit" for a couple of days by now and "out for delivery" tomorrow, that's why I'm confused. I'll certainly give them a call tomorrow, if nothing changes by then, as I really don't want to wait at home the whole day for an announced delivery that doesn't happen after all.

mine still says 'Billing Information Received' and it mentions

'UPS has received the electronic transmission of shipment detail from the shipper. Once UPS has possession of this shipment, the tracking status will be updated'

so i guess the thing about the 'shipped/billed on' it the date when they will recieve it, 13th for me. giving 2 days for delivery.

I think the problem is that our cancelled orders are now being treated as new orders, and that quite simply should not be the case.....

This is totally unacceptable as we never cancelled our orders, and we
are now being forced to start from square one. The fact is our orders should now be treated with priority. We know that parts are no longer the issue as people are now receiving there laptops (even though they ordered a month after us). This is particularily bad when you consider that my credit card was debited on the 10/06/09 and i wont receive a thing until August !!!
How can i be expected to pay 2 months interest on something i have not yet received.

When i speak to a manager this week i will insist my order is sent to front of the cue or else i will cancel. In a way i feel sorry for the reps, its not their fault, its the fault & failing of Dell as a company.

its something that we shouldnt even mention even if we have to take priority or not. i wonder if the manager will be willing to speak to you anyway but if he does he will ensure you he or she will make the best possible. the real thing is that they may try but the final result is what matters. an order passes through many levels of people with different specialities. the effect of a manager or a rep really reduces as we go from them to the people that really assembly the orders.

yes i feel sorry for the reps too and of course its not their fault. actually i made my rep feel bad but she took it personally when it was not and she really understands me. according to her they are doing their best to prioritize my order. i dont know if she will really make it or not. this is to be seen in a few days from now. something tells me i am near the final cancelling though.

and i think we are the people that they should feel bad for. they are just doing their job and taking money for it. we lost thousands of pounds from our budget for 1.5 month now for something that seems like non existing as you said. they actually gain more money during this period even if we cancel and take back the money. we actually lose money in case we have an account giving a percentage of money raise every month. in our case its a big amount of money and many of us really were collecting for years to finally spend on something we really want to have.

and its not only a matter of money but playing with our phychology too. this may be even more important for the worst order cases like ours.

I fear that Dell hasn't actually shipped it yet and the date in the mail is the actual date they ship this thing and not the delivery date. Who knows?
I have no clue, but I wish to know as well.

You should be able to get a UPS phonenumber on the UPS site for your country.

    I had the same thing.

Email from Dell stating that delivery would be on the 9th
my status didn't change from "billing information received" to "in transit" till the evening of the 10th.
It also states "rescheduled delivery date 14th July"
My laptop has just left Brussels where it sat all weekend.

Well mine seems to be on an airplane, boat, truck, horse and carriage or perhaps with Santa Claus to be delivered from the factory (wherever that may be) to Tilburg in the Netherlands, where UPS has to pick it up. And then it will be delivered at my place. When? I dont know, and even worse Dell doesn't know. I got a scheduled delivery of July 13th (today) from UPS, but that is all just fiction. UPS has only received billing info.

I fear there is a pattern: 2 weeks pre-production, 2 weeks production and 2weeks shipping. I told my rep I will re-think this whole situation and either accept or not accept the delivery when UPS finally arrives with the package.

It certainly looks like the devlivery date we are quoted in the E-Mail is really the date Dell actually gives the laptop to UPS to deliver. I just don't get why they don't state in the mail that they will ship the laptop via UPS on that date and it will be delivered X days later. Heck, they even give a timeframe for the delivery and people arrange to be there to pick it up. It's irresponsible.

You are right it is - I wasn't going to be back in the UK from business till the evening of the 10th anyway so I was only expecting to find a card saying they had tried to deliver but nobody home.
My fiance had offered to take the day off work and wait in for the delivery, thank god I told her that wasn't necessary.

That's pretty ridiculuous from Dell but it's beginning to look true for me at least. Guess it should be expected at this stage.
The Dell status pages say "Actual Shipment Date: 08/07/2009"
Originally I thought that this was the date the laptop was ready to ship but UPS only picked up on certain days to allow material to build up.

On the UPS site: "Shipped/Billed On: 13/07/2009"
I thought this would be the date that Dell handed the laptop to UPS. Well today is that day and so far it's still at "Billing information received".

All that was my interpretation of the situation. But I doubt there can be any misinterpretation when the email says: "If there's no one to take delivery UPS will try again the following (working) day. They will also leave a card with instructions and contact details."
Afterall isn't that email address a UPS one and not Dell ?

Looks like another 'sneaky delay and get people off our backs' tactic from Dell. Wouldn't be suprised if the machines are actually still in production with an empty box and packing slip ready for them. No point asking a rep either. They either haven't got a clue or worse. It's either that or UPS are as incompetent as Dell which is pretty unlikely imo.
