Damn, still getting driver crashes at 11.10 and upped my voltage 44% quit rate

 

Was there any update for the game or something?
Most of the time, when the game is about to end, the game quits and I get an error saying "You were disconnected from the server".
It happens to me 8/10 times.

 

Just fix your game via orgins to download patches.

 

Fix how?
When I try to update, it says "BF3 LE is upto date".

 

then you don't need a patch

 

regarding the sound options. What is the best sound setting ? i have logitech G930 7+1, and the most authentic sound i get from "war tapes". the others are not so loud, i would say.

I have just installed the official 11.10 along with the CAP 4 on my M17x R2.
To me it seems like no big improvement over the 11.9.

Played both SP and MP, and SP runs pretty well. I get average between 40-50 fps in SP with all Ultra but MSAA turned off and native res. But my system for some reason only gets average 30-40 in MP with same settings, and even drops down to 20-25 fps when the is going down. No OC.
Any suggestions to improve performance?

Exactly what I'm going through, I'm trying to find a way to lower my sound performance, and I even lowered my resolution to 1600 to try to fix this. 20-25 is unbearable especially when in combat, difference between life and death, lol.

 

Quite annoying, I just can't continue my life before i get decent fps in this game lol. Good to know that I'm not the only one with problems on the R2, I just know that the system can handle at least 50-60 fps in MP, without sacrificing the res.

 

Run full res on Ultra with your 5870's clocked to 800/1000 and turn your AA deferred off and use AA post. Max everything else, you should get decent FPS. My OC'd 580m has similar performance to Crossfire those at those clocks and those are the settings I use.

 

What about the Blur? as in motion blur on or off? I prefer off... but I wanna adjust it.

 

Was playing this on a Desktop PC with a 6970 and Quad. Everything ultra, 1080P, 4x AA deffered and post AA as well. Dipped to 30 frames, never went above 60. These mobile chips are not far off from their desktop partners.

Turning Deffered off, never saw the frames dip below 40.


Thought you guys would enjoy that. I know I did.

 

Okay, did the overclock and i get maybe an average 5-10 fps increase with the settings all ultra but MSAA off and native res, but after some time the fps drop to around 10-20 fps and go back to the normal fps again after 20 sek.

 

Having AI turned off (from CCC)...apparently helps stop stuttering

 

Kinda sick of the "Battlefield 3 has stopped working" and the sound issues but other wise I love this game

Monitor your temps. both cards should warm up. Also your framers would drop. Monitor framers by hitting ~ key and typing render.DrawFPS TRUE

FPS will be on the top right.

 

Is it ok to disable Catalyst A.I. with crossfire? - techPowerUp! Forums That's your answer, Crossfire is turning out to be such garbage when trying to play a game. In part it has hindered me more then it has come to help me, and I'm starting to agree with TurboTallon when he said he'd rather use a slightly less powerful single care setup as compared to a dual card setup. It's just moneys wasted IMO.

 

What I have been playing on MP with my current rig, is to have all high no aa and if your running an R2 put throttlestop to gaming, ive been playing 60fps, with 11.10(cap 4), I just finished 3 whole games on 3 different maps and no stutter, its not on ultra but it looks good to me, if you just want to play the game on great settings and you have an R2 just put it on high, with TS.

 

CAn you explain how to use throttle stop a little more? I mean I just installed 4.00 selecte gaming and hit turn on is that enough?

 

I have have TS on game(2), Clock modulation checked off, and the chipset clock mod checked off, set the multiplier to turbo, make sure EIST is checked off and C1E is also, the last two should be checked off automatically but if they're not check them off now, hopefully this works for you man, remember this is on all high settings on BF3 no ultra, and no AA or anything special like ambient occlusion.

Darkloki, here is the Throttle Stop Guide, although I'm not sure it'll help since you don't have an XM CPU. Though I could be wrong. To gain some CPU power, you may want to flash the BIOS thats linked in my sig. It will allow you to OC the CPU by 5% which should help. But definately listen to CUELLARM, That will probably help, even without an XM.

CUELLARM, I tried playing with you last night, but my system kept locking up and I think it's because of the memory leak. I only have 4GB in at the moment (HyperX) since my 8GB set went bad. Getting it (8GB set) RMAed soon.

wow, last night was fun doctor, those snipes are fun, but using the bazooka on someone just feels so good, but it is sooooo overkill lol. Yeah I kept wondering why you where not in the fight anymore, we did that tunnel map, I forgot the name but it was silky smooth last night, I did 3 more battles last night, that was a fun server we lost all matches but it was fun, the R2 is really holding its own, I think I need to calibrate my screen today any pointers would be welcomed I know we have that in the forums but I never understood that guide . If I get on tonight it will about 7 to 8 this evening CST.

 

Thanks guys, not sure what it was but I did a combination of flashing my bios running throttle stop and my laptop is now where I want it to be, lol.

 

@ CUELLARM, Lastnight was fun, I like being able to spawn on you and not have to search, plus I think I attract bullets away from you But yea the drivers or memory leak kept freezing me up or giving me the boot. That %^&) needs to get fixed asap. I never bothered to calibrate my screen either. I should, things would probably look better, but I think they look pretty good as is. Plus I like how the red just pops out.

I may and try and make it on tonight, gotta get packed for weekend range drill this weekend. Also going to try and get on but the wife may have other plans She's not a fan of me wanting to play for a few hours. But yea, kept having to restart and getting stuck in the Queue.

@ Darkloki, what kinda settings are you able to run now? How did overclocking work out? Were you able to get the cards OCed? What settings?

Omg. I am going nuts. I have had bf3 4 days.. Runs but dies saying I need 285.xx driver? I can't update my drivers with 285.62. I'm at 270.xx but that seems shakey..blinks to black screen?.

Specs. M17x. Vista 64 ultimate all updates. IE9. GTX260m in SLI. BIOS turned off for integrated grphx, etc. No other system updates (bios,etc)

Any ideas?

I run Shadows High, AA post AA off, and SBAO. The rest is Ultra. Actually when the game was not yet released, I thought I would be able to play it only on mid settings, so my system does it's best playing smooth on custom ultra/high, and I'm satisfied with that

 

Used the creative labs xfi Go USB soundcard to get virtual surround for bc2/bf3 but now i have a m17x r3 i'm wondering if i need it anymore. Anyone had experience getting virtual surround working in bf3 without a third party sound card?

 

Getting back to the actual game now that I can actually play it with out problems (Thanks) The SOFLAM is a POS. I have multiple issues with this device. In theory it sounds awesome and has LIMITLESS potential and usages. But everything is working against it atm and I'm sorry but I find the device to be a complete waste of time. Where do I start? Well number 1 it doesn't kill targets, granted if a Javelin fires I can agree it shouldn't kill. But if I paint a target and a F18 Hornet flys in (Within that limited Window) High Level of coordination here folks, it doesn't kill the vehicle just merely disables it. (AA not a tank gets disabled) I think it should be a one hit kill I mean you manually guided a missile straight into it Gah!!???? So finally we get a kill on one shot, targeted a VIPER which is fragile and frail so yea, I'm rooting saying haha we got something EXCEPT?!?!?!? The Spotter the Recon Sniper gets ZERO points for designated the target. My friend flying the F18 openly said he has no ability of targeting that Chopper without field support unless he slows down to target it and lock on, but because I did that for him he just flies through fires off and goes home to reload.

Except i get ZERO points? I mean Really? Not even a Spot? No Kill Assist? Nothing? Just watch my friend get the kill while I do alot of the leg work? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? is wrong with you EA? Do you not want ANYONE to use this thing? ZERO REWARD.... I'm not carrying the SOFLAM again Not going to WASTE my time with that POS, I'd rather go engineer and equip a Javelin or Stinger.... Wasted my time lighting up targets for a few mins getting ZERO points....

I have noticed that Battlefield, it's engine, overclocks my CPU across all 4 cores, and saw numbers even higher



this game loads all cores pretty much and big maps with a lot of players use really a lot of RAM

 

Hahahahahaha i saw the same thing lastnight playing bf3. After I ended for the night i was at 7+ghz on two cores 6+ghz on one and 5+ghz on another hwinfo bug most likely.

 

yea, right. I saw like 14Ghz on one of the cores once. imagine how many nanoseconds coult it stand if really

This card temps are after about 3+ hours of multiplayer. I went on a tender lastnight. Like 5 hours. Wife hated it

 

I definitely need to repaste because my temps maxing at 90-92 and 79-82 in this game, in some others higher. Dell will not repaste me, if I ask them I think. I could do that myself but the problem is I don't really like and want to take it apart. Not sure about warranty.. Tried recently but gave up on the Control Console.. need some special tool

 

that extra CPU usage was my stutter problem it made it abit to hot so it throttled everything is fix now i have everything at max ingame and CCC+vsync+opengl. AA off since post AA is at high and gives better fps flat 55-60 fps everywhere

CAT 11.10 I think made my FPS lower.

 

I have FOV still on the standard should I change it? did you leave it at standard?

 

For the 1080p screen, 90 is probably best.

 

But I have read that the FOV of BF3 is vertical FOV which is different from 99% of all other games. :/
