Here I'll make it Easy for you... Dell Beta 186.12 drivers, you can get them of of www.laptopvideo2go.com and every other driver you get should be up to date
-
Do the Nvidia System Tools work with the 190 series?
-
yes.
I tested it with 190.38 and 40 -

The new control center patch screwed up my control center... get an error message each time I try to open it
-
does anyone else's blue ray drive make a sound at idle? I don't see it listed on the driver page either. Mine is a HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA10N-SCSI Cdrom device in device manager. My drive makes a sound like it is seeking, but there is no disc in it
-
Can one update ones graphics card drivers directly from the nvidia site or does one have to get them through dell?
-
only certain rivers support hybrid .... which mean you would have to turn it off
if you turn off hybrid yes if not no -
-
BIOS A01 is now out!
-
Did you install them yet?
Nice. "Added AMD duel card initial code." They're coming.... -
-
I was hoping the memory clock ratio option was enabled.
-
Bleh, my SLI has all but completely dissappeared. It only recognizes the 9400, the 280's are no where to be found. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, and a system restore gave me an error. It's only a day old, Im going to restore it to factory settings (after I copy WoW to my external HDD!)
-
good luck jubal.
-
If it this happens and the M17 does not get the 4850s as an upgrade option then I might have to start saving for a M17X.
Should be cheaper with ATI cards and of equal performance. -
I'm assuming AMD dual cards is referring to the 4870s. Don't know the specs on them yet. I would mind getting a hold of them to test.
-
Factory restore fixed it, but I wish I knew for sure which drivers messed it up. I think Windows Update installed a chipset driver that conflicted with the nvidia performance drivers.

So Far at 3.06 I am stable, before I would blue screen at shutdown. Will run some test through the night and see how it does?

Is this the new ATI cards?
http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/07/26/ati-evergreen-mobile-parts-outed/
Even I'm getting excited and I never even owned ATI gaming cards before. -
Very interesting article!! surprises me that an old-skool techie like yourself has never had ATI cards before.....was this a conscious decision?
-
I love ATI

driver support isn't crap .... they are way easy to mod if anything

have you seen the asus w90 thread ? its all way difficult.

So, since Moo's link isn't working for the 186.12 GPU driver I google'd and found http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24430-forceware-186-12-is-out/ Sorry to link another forum, but just thought I'd reference where I got it from.
I installed that driver and Ntune from the Nvidia website (following Moo's link in his benchmarks thread then downloading the English(UK) version. So I went to try and mess around in Ntune, but all I found NVIDIA monitor, Control Panel, Performance and Stability Test on the Start Menu. Mind boggled, I went for the CP to check it out. This was not the right option. However, upon closing, bam blue screen which said about uninstalling random software and such. Then after around 15 seconds, boom laptop shuts down. I tried to turn it on twice - nothing. Third time, keyboard lights up but nothing on the screen. So I held the AW Head down to shut it down. Fourth time, no lights anywhere, but I can hear a fan on the left side. Again, shut down and decided to take mouse plus the power lead out. This time, I got into Safe Mode and have now uninstalled both programs. With the video driver, I left the display driver in tact.
So, basically. Has anyone got any clue what the hell went wrong? >< Is it because they're beta drivers? If so, anyone else had the same problem? -
hi
if i try oc my GPU or CPU with Ntunes 6.05/6.02 my m17x freez every time efter reboot this is with 1.86 drivers anyone got link to driver 182 ? -
some broken links (which have the 'javascript' part in them):
- 3rd audio driver - 'Audio v 6.10 Released 7/30/09'. corrected link: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R230621.exe
- 2nd chipset driver. link: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/chipset/R229514.exe
- both Touch Pad driver links. correct link for 2nd one: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/input/R225468.exe
you could also add the dell drivers page link. other than GPU drivers, all are using Dell's drivers right?
diagnostics driver/app: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/diags/AW1354A1.exe but it says 32-bit even though the driver list i used was vista64.
nice thread moo.
does anyone see the bluetooth device in Device Manager? -
i hate dell delivery sysetm it causes me headaches when tryig to link them thanks

For you guys having freeze up problems when auto loading an over clocking profile in system tools at windows start up follow this order:
1 set CPU clocks to stock value in BIOS.
2 uninstall all video drivers, physx and system tools, use driver sweeper in safe mode to remove their remnants.
3 download the specific driver you want to install along with physx (if necessary) and system tools.
4 install in this order: driver> physx> system tools.
5 OC GPU to desired levels and exit system tools, when prompted if you would like to load this profile at start up select yes, reboot and voila, you wont have the lock ups anymore you can now go back and OC your CPU. -
just upgraded bios. re-set bios OC settings. now back at 2.93 GHz.
got a bit freaked out when CPU fan went to 100%. never heard it that loud. dunno if the winphlash program does it (in which case fan speed can be controlled via software) or if flashing the bios heats up the CPU. it got back to normal once the flash program was done. didn't have the HWmonitor open so couldn't see temps. -
just part of the BIOS flashing program
-
what's part of the BIOS flashing program? the temps going up and the fans kicking in (okay) or the programming setting the fans to 100%? how come no program to do the same - control/tweak fan speeds?
-
anyone using the 190.38 nv drivers - can you change display brightness via keyboard? i can't. have re-installed OSD app but still can't change.
