i know, i put two and two together! i highly doubt it just because there led. its kinda like a led tv all the colors that it produces.

hey guys, i made an advanced theme recently and i only have one small issue, but im not sure if this is normal so let me know. When i first turn the laptop on the only lighting i get is the first 3 sections of the keyboard and the power button, than after logging in the rest of the lighting kicks in and moves along with the theme. is that normal or should it not be doing that? let me know and thanks XDD

 

yes that is normal. reason is that it can handle all the different zones. it happens to me allll the time!

 

yeah i realized that after going through almost all the pages of the thread, just a quick question now about making the speakers two different colors, is it possible to do this with a basic theme?

 

I wish you give us a basic video on how do them our selfs. I am looking at a music idea where when playing muisc or games. Each section of the computer change colors depending on how loud or soft the sound is. It would really freak out someone in a coffiee shop haha.

yes there is a way to do it with the basic theme. i have to find the time to make a video of it. any good programs that i can recorded the desktop with?

Beautiful themes!. When a friend got his m17x it had the default theme loaded on it, but it did the coolest thing the touchpad would change color when he touched it. Unfortunately he formatted his computer and can't get it to do the same thing.

So I was wandering if it was possible to implement it (colors change when keys are touched) not just for the touchpad but the different zones and if possible individual keys. Thanks again for the awesome themes.

 

We're working on a plugin for Winamp that can do what you describe. Currently, the only thing you can do is set it to a certain theme when a program is opened. So it operates independently of music.

 

I can't get these themes to work.

I uninstalled CC, ran CCcleaner, did a new install of latest version of CC.

I open the theme and i get the screen below. With the possibility to do nothing except close the window?

Slade, I remember you making a KITT theme, Correct? Heres 2 themes: KITT (original TV show) and KITT 3000 (2008 TV show) The 3000 would be faster, but it got screwed up. Could you make it the same speed as my original KITT theme Slade? Please?

EDIT: Found a Bug in the origial one. dont know what it is

 

its kinda weird on the speed sometimes it will get it then sometimes it wont. i know i had to save it with a number then rename it. i have come to notice that it also depends on how long it is to. ill see what i can do.

edit: i figured it out. you can't have too many color boxes. when you hit the box limit it goes back to regular speed. but when under the box limit it speeds up.

#2 edit: the reason why KITT 3000 is regular speed it because you used too many color boxes. you would have to take some. and for the original KITT the reason why it screws up is because the morphing gets thrown off by the ones that are not morphing. and the ones that are not extended it another reason why the morphing is lagging as well. that's why the last set of the lights are lagging

Very useful thread, I'm impressed with some of the themes here especially the KITT one it's nice but could be better. Hopefully we could see an improved KITT version soon.

 

What does KITT stand for? I tried that theme but it seems to be not compatible with new AlienFX.

How can I increase the speed of my AlienFX? I made my own KITT version, but it moves slow as molasses, even on max tempo, while the other KITT version another user uploaded is nice and fast. Any idea whats wrong?

on the kitt themes there is a small problem with it being fast. when you have to many color boxes in command center and change the xml it cause it to slow down.

 

Would be nice if you could post a small tutorial so more users could create more themes.

 

I just downloaded this to edit the xml files with, I'm sure it will come in handy for some users, when editing an AlienFX theme. It also works with Windows 7.

 

Do you one better Crylo... try Notepad++. The best code editor IMO and the only one I use.

Well I have the latest version of Command Center, and R34xSkylinex280's original KITT version works just fine with my CC, you can find it in his post here. There are two versions in that file, "KITT" and "KITT 3000". KITT is the better of the two IMO.

Edit: Oops! Nvm. My bad It works and it's awesome. I link the red part moving left and right lol. Thank Crylo.

Edit: And the KITT is definitely better than the KITT 3000.

 

Is it me or is the timing off on keyboard 4 section of the KITT theme? It lags behind slowly for me as the theme runs it goes out of sync. Is there something in the code that I could change to fix the timing? I've been trying to toy around with it in command center but can't seem to fix it that way.

 

Hi there, sorry to be noobish but is it possible to apply these to M15X? Also can the theme files be coded in C++ and how difficult are they to code/modify assuming i am competent in C++?

 

The theme files are XML files, If you create any old M15x theme and compare it side by side with the M17x theme file in an editor like Notepad++ as above you should be able to convert them easy enough.

Does know anything about the syntax for the functions in the DLL for AlienFX (Or LightFX seeing as its now Dell ) I remeber finding a web page documenting it, forgot to bookmark it and of course, I can't find it again.

I have all the functions and have played around with the samples in the SDK but i cannot for love nor money propperly figure the syntax for them.

Just wondered if anyone had any insight on this subject.

I've now learned how to really speed up the tempo (sorry slade, but i used one of your modifiied themes as a "template" for mine :S), therefore, ill redo Kitt 3000, and fix the original KITT
