M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

lol becaue I remember that.

Years ago Dell did in fact have a detailed order status page when you logged into your account.

Unfortunately, they did away with that years ago and now the best info you can get is from the phone status if you are in the US (800-283-2210 options 4, 2, 1, 1).

 

Yeah, it's pretty bad. That said the dude was quick, polite, took my contact info and said he'd try to get it here before Friday. There isn't much more I can ask for at this point.

 

The Automated phone Order Status said Boxing stage, the email link still shows "In Production"

 

When did it change to boxing? I called today it says it's still in the build stage.

 

I am not sure, I checked Friday it said Build Stag, then Today it said Boxing Stag.

 

Then hopefully mine hits boxing VERY soon. I have the next few days off and it would be nice to play around with it.

 

my fresh delivered M17XR2 is running perfectly. took a few hours of installing but all done now.
quite supprised it "only" took 19 days from order to delivery.

 

lucky you, probably has to do with the i5 and geeze if you had NBD it would have only taken 13 days!

 

Once it hits boxing, how many days until shipped?

 

might be, can always upgrade later, i5 fast enough for now.
yeah ups took there time on delivering but it came

 

I believe 2 to 3 days but can be longer. I think they ship a bunch out at once, so they fill the queue up then ship.

 

72 hours on average.

 

I never saw boxing. Just a solid month of "EDD: 03/30/10" and then BAM!! "EDD: 03/25/10 (updated)".

Starting to think the whole Order Status thing is just BS. Right now I am in "In Production" limbo. Been there for 3 whole weeks.

Those of you getting actual updates (ie: In Production, then Boxing, then shipping, etc) consider yourselves lucky. Imagine not knowing what's happening to suddenly "It's going to be at your door in 2hrs."

 

On the website mine has been in In Production since I ordered. I had to call to get the "boxing" stage. It was in the "build" stage for weeks until recently.

 

Mine came surprisingly fast ordered on 4/6/10 received 9 days later on the 15th of april and I have an i7

Perhaps that was because of no X-fire?

 

They delayed my order for another week so I told them nicely if I can somehow get some kind of compensation. On top of that, my CS rep is VERY nice. When I asked him about the free mouse, he just apologized about the delay and told me we will work one out when he calls me next time when my computer is shipped.

**As for Malignant, people that hit boxing stage today ordered before us, like Wahaha ordered on the 9th of March. I'm still stuck on "In Production" and I ordered on 20th so.. I think it's normal? And the automated phone call did freeze up sometime in the afternoon for me too. I thought it was changing the status to boxing and had my hopes but... darn.. **

I'm in Australia and it looks like a few orders are moving through now as they have received the parts for my system, apparently I will get it before the end of the month.

Before I had an EDD of 16 May, so it looks like they must have received a batch of parts that people may have been waiting on.

flynn ordered at the same time as me then had to cancel and re-order to change his order and has the exact same configuration and his is in boxing!

 

Oh.. Damn.. that hurts me too now. Haha. I guess he's a lucky one! Sucks for us

 

Never EVER try and make sense of Dell's order queue.

I bet we all ship on the same day 26th, and if we all have NBD we should get them on the 27th.

Just called, mine says boxing stage as well over the phone and "in production" on the web. After it told me boxing stage it still listed my old EDD (5/6), maybe I'll get it sooner.

 

From North America, yes. It's called a Great Circle Route. I'm sure wikipedia explains it - kinda neat the first time you read about it...

Hey gonz, what was your order date? Another Aussie buyer here.

Also, are you able to track your order via the Dell website? I ordered on the 24/03 and when I check on the web (or the phone for that matter) it just says order received and we will give you and EDD soon. I have asked my CS rep what is going on and she says my order is about to be shipped, but not according to their website. I am rather confused.

 

Yea Twitchy, I ordered on the 31st March and on the online\phone tracking system it still just says order received, Only when I speak to someone directly do I get a some proper information.

Seems like their online status is stuffed as I think quite a few Aussies are having the same sort of issue of the tracking system not working correctly.

 

Finally! Congrats on reaching boxing, not much longer to go now.

 

Ah, well I guess that is good to hear...at least I'm not the only one who can't find out where things are up to.

We should receive our order about the same time then not too long I hope

Yea hopefully next week.... Already have my 160GB Intel SSD waiting at home as well.

It will be nice to see how the display stacks up against my dell U2410 as well.

I honestly think knowing it is in boxing is worse than build, now that it's built i want it here YESTERDAY! I keep checking the phone system for a shipped message. oh well, at least I have the R1 to play with.

 

Mine had shown as being "In Production" for about the last 3 weeks????

Welcome to the Club. I am going on 3 weeks as well remaining at an "In Production" status with an EDD of "N/A". Weird stuff.

 

hit boxing today.Only problem i am leaving for Jamaica Thursday for a week. I guess I will have something to look forward to when I get home.lol

Dell seem to have cancelled my order again without any given reason whatsoever this time. Ordered it first on the 13th, it was cancelled two days later as a result of an 'illegal part' being listed in the order so they remade the order on the 15th. It is now 12:20am on the 21st and it has been in the 'Order Received' level of the process ever since... until I checked it again 5 minutes ago. I didn't get a 2-3 business day EDD either. No email, no phone call - nothing. I wonder what's going on...

I shall be calling them up tomorrow with my very angry voice, I think!

EDIT: I am also an Aussie buyer and after looking at the 64th page of this thread it seems I am not the only one with this issue xD how frustrating.

 

mine is STILL in the production stage.. back when I ordered my R1 I received it a week earlier than EDD, I was hoping for the same this time.

 

Shipped today with a new edd of 4/21. Ordered 3/24 original edd 4/22. 820, x fire rgb and 500gb

I have a tracking number and everything.

Now I just have to coordinate with the wife to make sure one of us is around to sign for it.
