Honestly I am not sure where to go from here, my replacement system was supposed to ship within 7-10 business days (after escalation). Which was on March 23rd. After having one rep tell me keyboards were on back order, then another rep telling me the backorder was resolved and then a sup telling me there never was a back order on keyboards. I have not been yelling etc, at cust service reps or anything else. But tbh I am tired of being lied to, passed around, and flat out mistreated by company reps. I understand that most of Dells call center work is outsourced, but they still have to answer to somebody at Dell. On March 12th one rep told me the earliest my system would ship was the 15th and the absolute latest was the 20th. It's still in build status according to phone order status, and in production if I look online.
Yesterday a manager stated she would send an email to the tracking team and would call me by a certain time with some information, so we arranged a time for her to call and she failed to do so, I allowed 4 hours after the arranged time simply because I do realize that sometimes people do get busy. Anyway when I did call in and asked for her I was told she was working on another issue and would call me back within 30 minutes. She did call me back and stated that the tracking team had responded but there was no useful information in the response and that she would then send an email to the production team and would need to wait up to 24 hours for a response from them. Apparently she received the response from the original tracking team in the morning but failed to contact the production team in a timely manner to allow them to reply to her during business hours today. She is supposed to contact me by 12:30 tomorrow afternoon with some answers. After that I am gonna go to AG in Ohio, FTC, and maybe the BBB just to have another acronym in there.
Can anyone offer any further assistance/advice on where to go from here. I really don't want to get anyone in trouble.
I just want the truth, and yes I can handle the truth. -
Ask to work with a customer resolution specialist. They seem to do a better job. You can also PM BatBoy, he has a thread here somewhere that helps resolve these types of issues. At least who you should be contacting.
-
Live2ride883 I HIGHLY suggest the BBB. Open a complain and allow 5 to 7 days for a reply. I know its not ideal and doesn't allow the system to ship any sooner, but you will get a customer resolution specialist assigned to you who takes ownership of the case. They arent the fastest to respond but they are authorized to make things RIGHT and have few boundaries. Those of us who went through customer resolution dept also got pushed to the front of the line. Just be fair though if they take care of you and note that in closing the BBB case.

I have a supervisors manager that is supposed to call me back tomorrow at 12:30 with some information. I already advised her that if I do not have some information tomorrow I am going to contact dell corporate etc.

Did a re-order today and the EDD they gave me is much better than the one I got on the 13th. Now it is 20th of May instead of 4th of June, with a bigger hard drive... ordered a week and a day later. Go figure.
-
Finally went into shipping yesterday morning =) Ordered 3/12, EDD:4/12. EDD was then updated to 4/19, and then to 4/26. Should arrive today 4/21, so a few days earlier than the final EDD given. Has pretty much everyone who ordered early March experienced a bit of a delay?

Ordered mine yesterdayt afternoon, and it went into production this morning. Hopefully it will only stay there for a short time

I'm kind of in the same boat as Rtt, I ordered 3/16, EDD: 4/15, updated to 4/21 and now updated to 4/27, but according to the phone it's in boxing stage.
I don't know what kind of people they are hiring down there or if they have unreliable communication between sections, but you'd figure they'd have this whole process down by now. -

I ordered on 4/15. It went into "production" immediately. I was playing the "hope I can catch the 5870 game". I don't believe that will happen. Can I cancel now without restocking fees? The Rep was very aware of the interest in the 5870 if available.

How long can a man sit in "boxing" without losing his mind?

72 hours

My rep contacted me and said that nothing is in back order so my comp should go into shipping within 2-3 days...He said that the info came from the production team. (took him 24 hours to get that)
-
Lol that's what my CS rep told me. THREE times. Yet a day before EDD, he calls me to tell me that it got delayed for another week. Hooray for assuring phone calls he gave me! It made me that much more anxious and that much more angry when he delayed my order.

Latest news I have is that the english keyboards are back-ordered but they are expected in on Monday.

Woot, my heart just skipped a beat...
Order Date: 4/7/2010
Order Status: Shipped -
grats on the updated status
-
I don't believe what CS reps tell you though.. As my rep told me that processors are on backorder while people with i7 820QMs are in boxing/shippign stage this week. Or maybe they just don't like me. Also I hate the way they just tell you to cancel the order if they cannot make the EDD date. FFS, I waited a month to be told to cancel my order.

I ordered a day after you. So there's some hope there.

Are you in boxing yet Mandrake?

darn.. Well i hope you enter that soon.

I'm really curious to how they line up their orders. Maybe they make the one's that gives them the most profit first then so on. If so.. I can't really complain lol.

w00t I'm in the boxing stage, the bad news is it will probably ship friday and I won't see it until monday so NBD is useless
-
I'm convinced that location has something to do with when your order is delivered. When I ordered my m11x it arrived two weeks in advance(All my orders from Amazon arrive within 1 to 2 days as well). When I consulted a Dell Sales Rep he asked for my name and address and that was all he needed to give me a great quote. The same representative I used was unable to give others a discount however.
-
My turn to shipping finally!!! Will get it tomorrow. ^^
-
Sweet!!! That is Awesome

Okay.. it seems like everyone's on boxing stage except me.. What a cruel world. Nevermind.. I'm with you Karuro although I do live in the states.. hmm..
