M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

Well after sorting out that my rep was in fact lying and that my system had not shipped, I canceled my order. I was going to wait for 5870 in cf, but decided that for now I actually don't need cf and so I have order a single version. I realize this is considered heresy and that I could get a lighter, cheaper single card laptop. But why would I want a cheap plastic Asus with crappy warranty support when I can get a M17x. Plus, I can always upgrade down the track and I saved money which keeps the wife happy.

Looking forward now to my system.

 

No, official threads can be started by anyone.

I don't know what this guy is doing continuing a thread, though.

That is only to be done by mods because they have to close the original thread before continuing it to a new one.

 

I think to avoid further confusion someone needs to either close this thread or close part 3.

 

Part 3 is still alive; Part 4 won't be necessary until this one gets 2,000+ replies.

 

Then we do not need part 4 as an active thread at this time.

 

So I decided on changing my color scheme to Nebula Red. I hope I can get it at a reasonably discounted price through my rep however.

 

I vote that we tar and feather the OFFICIAL THREAD PART 4 thread starter!

But since we're on the net a thread close/delete/annihilate should do it.

Mine has shipped as well, now I gotta figure out if I can afford to take tomorrow off of work.

BTW: The recorded message states it has shipped and is on it's way to the carrier and tracking information will be available once it reaches their regional office. Does this mean that fed ex hasn't actually received the box?

FedEx hasn't received the package yet. Once you get a tracking number then they have received the package.

 

I checked the Dell order status web site and it shows a scheduled delivery date for tomorrow. So even though I do not have a tracking number yet I should get it tomorrow since I have next business day delivery.

 

If you click on the invoice link on dells site when viewing work order, you can get the invoice number/waybill.. Type that into the fedex tracking and it will pull up the shipping order.

 

New Alienware promotion, they are sending people $100 off coupons through email. Expires May 6th, nice date.

That worked great, it's supposed to be here by 3:00 tomorrow afternoon. Time to get my games out and clean up my flight sticks.

Maybe I am just being paranoid after so many delays but I am starting to wonder. I have my tracking number and as of 8:20 pm (eastern time zone) my M17x still hasn't been picked up by fedex. The site still shows scheduled delivery for 4-29-2010 by 3:00 pm.

Does anyone know where they actually ship the systems from?

Mine also says tomorrow by 3:00 pm. It will come don't worry! if not get some more free stuff. lol. I think I was able to get a free Mamba but the thing is I also asked him about the return policy before so how he thinks I'm going to return the computer after I receive the free mouse so he was saying no. So I just told him, make it so if I return the computer, I would have to return the mouse too and he processed it. Not sure if it's going to qualify or not. I'll find out tomorrow.

 

I'll just feel a lot more secure after this thing is out of Dell's hands. I already received a free PSP for my kid, and my resolver is working on additional concessions for me once I receive my system he is going to send a tech to my house to install them so I do not void my warranty.

 

Are you going to return it if 5870s come out soon?

 

My resolver stated he could send a tech out to install the additional items without me having to return the system.

 

WHAT?!?!?!

Just an advantage the advantage of having a senior resolver specialist handling my replacement.

Apparently fedex only updates the site every 24 hours, which means my laptop could be here before it even shows on the tracking page. I called Dell and they have confirmed that fedex has picked up my M17x.

Breathing a lot easier now.

Added bonus, I live in eastern time zone so I should receive mine before doublee.

I just signed for mine at 10:20 am..... Fedex guy and I were talking and I told him it was a laptop. He said it was awfully heavy for a laptop. be back later after unboxing and benchmarking.

Well, Dell's order status/tracking blows big chunks.

First post from my just unboxed m17x-r2, gotta admit I am stoked over this. Also very happy I decided to keep it. Now doublee just need to get home from school so he can get his.

 

anyone know how long they usually spend with the local courier? my staus page updated today to show my m17x arrived in australia and is with the local courier, but EDD is 24th of May...surely the local courier cant take 25 days to deliver? ps, anyone know what local courier dell use in australia? thanks

 

Grats Live! Dang you got early. Mine's still on the truck out for delivery. ~10 more hours to go until I get home! Can't wait!

 

I called the fedex station and had them contact the driver and see if he could drop it off early.

I have a few issues with the build quality, etc. But that information is already in the owners lounge. You may wanna take a look.

 

I just checked and got a call from my mom. It's been signed and delivered! I also got a call from my rep and told me free Razer Mamba has been approved so I should get it by Monday! Man I can't wait... I'm currently dying in school.

I just got off the phone with alienware support and they are gonna send a FT onsite to replace my palmrest and keyboard. The DVD drive stopped making the loud noise so I am ok with it staying that way for now.

I also spoke with my resolver earlier and he stated that since I already received a PSP that I couldn't qualify for any other upgrades. To be honest I am ok with that, I wondered all along if he was just trying to keep me happy, etc. He did state that he had no idea how they were able to give me a free PSP and that as far as he knew that had never been done before.

 

Hahaha Traffic WOULD suck but I finish class around 8:30PM so no traffic for me! I just hope I don't start speeding like mad man and get pulled over by a cop. So what was wrong with the palmrest? Not aligned correctly? OH and did you check if your GPUs were good? People were having problems with flickering and stuff. Hopefully everything else is good for you so far!

 

My internet is down so I am using my Droid. The palmrest does look like it is not installed correctly. They are sending an onsite tech to replace the palmrest and the keyboard if needed. As for my gpu's I am running 3D Mark 06 now. I will post results in a while.

Ordered mine on 31/03/2010, finally arrived on 29/04/2010 (sat in delivery for over a week due to the Iceland Volcano) however because the HD5870 came out I ordered a new one and I'm returning this one. I ordered the new one 23/04/2010 and it's just gone to "shipped" status today on 30/04/2010.

The delay in shipping has been removed from the site. Crossfire 4870's shipping at the same as a single 5870.
