    Yup they smell brand new except I have a little black mark on my palm rest which I can't seem to get rid of. Looks like perm marker. I'll probably just call up dell and ask for the part and I'll replace it myself. Can't trust techs anymore after they ruined my M15x.

    LOL! I just found out my "F" key isn't work as well as other keys so I sent an email to my CS rep to send those 2 parts to get it replaced. Hopefully she'll agree without going through some PITA procedures. :D

    ^Seems like 3 weeks now.

    Wow that shouldn't be acceptable. I'd definitely try to get some sort of compensation from DELL for these inconveniences, on top of the stuff that needs to be replaced. Keep us updated please.

    Meh it's not THAT bad. At least I don't have dead pixels or broken parts or anything major issues yet. I can just replace em easily so I'm good. I just hope my GPUs will be working in perfect condition.

    I just had a left Speaker that was always greenish, they wanted to replace my mother board with a rebrubished one, and the tech that came out looked like he should not be aloud around schools. This will be my third time, the first was when the 5870 CF came out, I did not even open it. Dell has been very cool about my returns, I just want a perfect system, is that too much to ask? :)

    2 calendar weeks - that's decent I suppose.

    System itself was brand new, no nicks/marks that some other people have mentioned apparently happened with their new/'new' orders. Looking forward to tinkering with this thing over the next few days. :D

    with replacements it always says that. On the 10th, it will updated to say "information temporarily unavailable". lol then you wait until it updates to shipped. There won't be any more information than that until it leaves the factory. You can call in and get an indication of where its at but generally speaking they suck at giving out replacement info. I got the July 16th EDD when I called in.

    I reordered today, EDD is 6/28/2010, hopfully sooner, I will call today for NBD, I should have no problem, it's my third reorder.

    NBD = Next Business Day Delivery. It will be delivered the day after it shipes. Call customer service and asked for a faster delivery, tell them you need it for work or something. You should have no problem, remember, be cool to the customer service rep, and they will work with you. With NBD you should get your lappy a few days sooner, it does not help with the production time. The phone order status is the most reliable also. I hope this helps.

    it means you've probably got a replacement system on the way an your estimated delivery date was showing as 2-3 days after your order date. Which means it was wrong. Its going to show up as "temporarily unavailable" until it ships. Phone in for actual details.

    Hey guys....i ordered my m17x R2 5/21 and had a preliminary ship date of 6/15.....happy to say that they shipped it 6/8 and EDD is 6/11....i can't believe i'm going to be a proud owner of alienware....can't wait to play with the AlienFX and everything else..... :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: <----my reaction when i open up and turn on the machine.

    If you have a replacement system. The "information temporarily unavailable" will not go away until there is a tracking number.

    It takes forever for Dell or Fedex to update. My info didn't show up until the early morning of the day I received it. If you look up your waybill number, that is the tracking number to put in at the Fedex site.

    *UPDATE

    I just phoned customer care. My M17x was shipped out today I got my tracking number over the phone !!

    Still says "Information Temporarily Unavailable" It will most likely update with Shipped / Tracking number by 5pm EST Canada.
