M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

Nice congrats on finally getting your M17x! I gotta admit I'm jealous, since I would probably have mine also right now, if I didn't cancel my previous order. Ohh well, I just gotta be a little more patient.

 

Glad I'm somewhat near it. Hopefully I won't have any issues with the cards in XFire Mode. Will try some games out after my finals!

Thanks! I know how you feel. I waited 6 weeks to get my first M17x then returned and waited 3 more weeks to get this one. Hopefully you'll get it before your EDD.

Yup they smell brand new except I have a little black mark on my palm rest which I can't seem to get rid of. Looks like perm marker. I'll probably just call up dell and ask for the part and I'll replace it myself. Can't trust techs anymore after they ruined my M15x.

 

hmm sneaky dude maybe it was a scratch or used part and they used marker instead of paint lol call thier arsses up. I live in south cali near arizona if mine comes messed up ill goto dell HQ and show Micheal dell!

 

Now that I have returned my M17X R2, and will be reordering another one due to hardware issues, what is the average wait time now?

 

LOL! I just found out my "F" key isn't work as well as other keys so I sent an email to my CS rep to send those 2 parts to get it replaced. Hopefully she'll agree without going through some PITA procedures.

Wow that shouldn't be acceptable. I'd definitely try to get some sort of compensation from DELL for these inconveniences, on top of the stuff that needs to be replaced. Keep us updated please.

 

Meh it's not THAT bad. At least I don't have dead pixels or broken parts or anything major issues yet. I can just replace em easily so I'm good. I just hope my GPUs will be working in perfect condition.

I just had a left Speaker that was always greenish, they wanted to replace my mother board with a rebrubished one, and the tech that came out looked like he should not be aloud around schools. This will be my third time, the first was when the 5870 CF came out, I did not even open it. Dell has been very cool about my returns, I just want a perfect system, is that too much to ask?

dells sending me my replacement soon. i just checked the website and apparently it was ordered today and the Estimated Delivery Date is 6/9/2010... kinda odd=/

well if it really does come in tomorrow im going to be pretty happy.. if not i expected it from dell considering how long it took me to get a replacement anyways.

 

Order date: Tuesday 25th May
Delivery date: Tuesday 8th June

2 calendar weeks - that's decent I suppose.

System itself was brand new, no nicks/marks that some other people have mentioned apparently happened with their new/'new' orders. Looking forward to tinkering with this thing over the next few days.

Have fun with your machine. Make sure you do basic bench and checkup as to check that everything is working correctly.

 

with replacements it always says that. On the 10th, it will updated to say "information temporarily unavailable". lol then you wait until it updates to shipped. There won't be any more information than that until it leaves the factory. You can call in and get an indication of where its at but generally speaking they suck at giving out replacement info. I got the July 16th EDD when I called in.

 

I reordered today, EDD is 6/28/2010, hopfully sooner, I will call today for NBD, I should have no problem, it's my third reorder.

 

well mine has now reached the uk at 14.28 i really cannot wait till tomorrow its like 19hrs or so.... ive had no laptop since march 15th

what does NBD mean i order mine on the 4th says 24 edd u think possibility i can get it sooner i order on phone and asoon i hung up i check order status said in production

 

NBD = Next Business Day Delivery. It will be delivered the day after it shipes. Call customer service and asked for a faster delivery, tell them you need it for work or something. You should have no problem, remember, be cool to the customer service rep, and they will work with you. With NBD you should get your lappy a few days sooner, it does not help with the production time. The phone order status is the most reliable also. I hope this helps.

ok, now i'm starting to get frustrated, What the heck is up with my july 16th EDD? my order was placed on the 4th, I called them and they're like "we can't do anything sorry" *click*.

whats it mean when your Estimated Delivery Date says Information Temporarily Unavailable?

 

it means you've probably got a replacement system on the way an your estimated delivery date was showing as 2-3 days after your order date. Which means it was wrong. Its going to show up as "temporarily unavailable" until it ships. Phone in for actual details.

 

i just phoned in and and it said that the information wasnt available..

 

Temporarily Unavailable usually means it's updating or a change

 

mine just got shipped i order 6/4 and shipped 6/10 o.0 lmao i hope its brand new. edd 6/17

Nice build and price. But, I have to lol at the free 7 day shipping. You should call back and tell them you need it sooner and push for free overnight.

 

i tried man LOL i am honestly torturing myself gonna take longer to ship than to build lmfao omg why jesus i have hope though man haent recieve any carrier or ship details maybe it will ship near california and takes like 5 days or less on site says 4-7 days so will see if it updates

 

Hey guys....i ordered my m17x R2 5/21 and had a preliminary ship date of 6/15.....happy to say that they shipped it 6/8 and EDD is 6/11....i can't believe i'm going to be a proud owner of alienware....can't wait to play with the AlienFX and everything else..... <----my reaction when i open up and turn on the machine.

 

thats insane. Your order was processed the same day as mine was. (only mine was a replacement) and your shipped out today?? My order still says "Information temporarily unavailable" under EDD and In Production .


If you have a replacement system. The "information temporarily unavailable" will not go away until there is a tracking number.

 

how do u know that the "information temporarily unavailable" wont go away until the tracking number?

 

It takes forever for Dell or Fedex to update. My info didn't show up until the early morning of the day I received it. If you look up your waybill number, that is the tracking number to put in at the Fedex site.

 

This isn't the first time i've had a system replaced in the past year. EVERYTIME i've seen the same thing.


*UPDATE

I just phoned customer care. My M17x was shipped out today I got my tracking number over the phone !!

Still says "Information Temporarily Unavailable" It will most likely update with Shipped / Tracking number by 5pm EST Canada.

June 4th Placed/June 10th Shipped.

 

it seems like they're sending out these systems fairly quickly. There is a good chance yours will be out for delivery in the next few days.

 

I hope so, placed my order on June 4th as well.

 

well my replacement order was made june 8th.. so ya hopefully ill have it before the end of next week. if not guess it couldn't be helped.
