I keep seeing people that ordered after me posting their system already shippedI even called my sales rep today and told him I'm canceling my order if it's not shipped by Tuesday evening because of Chinese new year.

I know how you feel kunekaden but I can almost guarantee you didn't order before I did, my first order was placed about 2 hours or so after release in the USA. I ordered at about 11:30am after it released at 10:00 am so I definitely know how it feels, as everybody else is saying just be patient. My order went straight from build to shipped, I didn't even have a boxing phase like most others had.
-
yeah your post was just the last one talking about shipping, so i quoted it lol. Dell's pretty good at rushing shipments that they've messed up on.
-
No one else got this email huh? Sucks too, I org. ordered on 1/11, my EDD was 2/4. And now this
So my new order has a EDD of 2/15
-
man that almost sounds like "the dog ate my homework" excuse
-
I didn't realize all these people had ordered on "launch day"
Hopefully I get this sooner than the EDD which is 2/16 right now -
Think China works on our laptops on Saturdays?
-
Last week I changed the wireless card and got bumped from 2/11 to 2/16. Not near as rough as others, but still.... arghhhh.
OK, so how many times a day is it normal to be checking email and the shipping date hoping that somehow they have bumped up the EDD?
Thank goodness for people like Dr J and Mandrake who have and are trying to share their experiences with us. -
So I ordered on 1/27 (about half hour before the 30% deal was up). My receipt said 1/28, which is fine. Went to aafes and linked to Dell's tracking site, and it's in "Processing order" phase, and edd is 2/18. Is this true, or will Dell unexpectedly ship it later/earlier? Can anyone share any experiences with the EDD's accuracy?

Most of the rigs we've seen to this point have been earlier than the EDD, but especially with AAFES there's no telling. Most of the time you're at least by your EDD if not early.
pcgeek- check as many times as you want lol, I would say more than once or twice a day is wasted effort though, it's not as if Dell is going to have your system go from "processing" to the first failed delivery without you knowing in a few hours lol. My EDD didn't get bumped until it actually shipped, and my status went straight from build to shipped, no boxing status for me. -
I don't know what normal is but I feel like I check it every hour, its killing me. and everyone that has got theirs seems to have 8 days from ordering so maybe that will be our case.

Hopefully, mind will be about 3 full weeks from my original order that was only cancelled due to Dell's screw up. I'm right there with you guys, this weekend is what is killing me the most lol. On the bright side I placed a large order with frozencpu.com and will have new paste/pads same day as the laptop, I'll be sure to post some pics and a tutorial along with results on the repasting

I'll PM you a list of what I ordered, it came out to about $50. If anybody else cares to know what I ordered just shoot me a PM.
-
I ordered mine 10 days ago. No word and just says In Production. Thinking about canceling my order because of the delay.

phas3d -my most recent order was entered on 2/18 and will be here at the beginning of the week so just hang in there for a few more days to maybe a week and I'm sure it'll ship
-
Still no 6970M. Hmm I'm ready to order too. Hopefully it's here by Monday.
-
I just called and talked to our Sales Rep at Dell and told her I needed it shipped before the posted delivery date because they screwed up on our DPA and she had it released and shipped yesterday. (I am DaneGRClose's wife)
-
you mean we could call and tell them they screwed up our payment and demand expedited shipping? -
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
And just an FYI phas3d it wasn't expedited shipping it was expedited processing. You seem very ticked with Dell, either cancel the order or try to get something better and live with what you get. It's all going to depend on your negotiating skill and the rep you talk to.
-
Chinese New Year is rapidly approaching so it may not even delay the order that long if they cant get them shipped before it starts. -
-
But as far as delaying orders I don't think anyone really knows how much it will... at the very least it could slow down production for a few days or it could be worse than that... -
-
-
Businesses are closed. Individuals take a few days off for it though. Depends who you are and where you work.
-
Welp, my EDD was 2/18. Think I'll get it sooner?
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
If I had to guess your EDD is probably 2/18 because of the Chinese New Year, if you don't get it within the next week or so probably not.

So, I tried to call a few days later (it was a very busy week) and couldnt get through to anyone to try to have the issue worked out. I left two messages and no one called me back. I finally was able to get through to someone on the 19th and had them first run my card again before trying to resolve the issue with my card not working.
My card went through with no issue. Order placed. That was now 10 days ago. My original EDD was the 4th of Feb and now it's the 11th. They canceled my first order and created another.
All of this would be a non issue, however I now need a laptop for a new office until my Mac is built. I dont want to lug this HP HDX 20 inch to the office every day for a month until we get our new Macs. -
I would guess later, to be honest.
Unless dell is cracking the whip and slave working their factory employees. New year is a pretty major holiday. -

^I dont think so but i dont know for sure. Call Dell and ask. Mine said pending for a bit after the charge went through and then said In Production which is where it sits to this day
-
I have yet to see the charge hit my bank account and I authorized the payment using paypal interestingly enough it IS in production.
-
-
AFAIK everyone else got hit with the charge as soon as it started processing, they don't build until they get paid...
-
-
I could be wrong...The XPS I ordered was charged same day, so...Dunno.
-
Has anyone bought via AAFES? I just did but not sure how to check my order stats on Dells website.
-
-
But yah, mine still says Order Processing, and there's still a pending (not yet posted) charge on my cc. -

Have you tried calling the 1-800-Alienwa line yet dookie? Dell's website is poorly updated and the phone line seems to be a bit more acurate and updated. If you haven't dial 1-800-Alienwa, option 2, option 1, enter order number, wait, enter order number again and it will give you your status.
-
hmmm, seems that line is suddenly busy lol
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
LOL, could be a million reasons, Dell's crap system crapped out lol, too many people calling, etc.
-
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
If you enter the info wrong it will try to connect you to a rep, if you enter it too slow it will try to connect you to a rep, if you enter it correctly and fast enough it should just be automated lol. But at the same time it may be different and not work for AAFES orders

Um if you ordered on 1/28 it won't show in production until probably Monday or Tuesday, doesn't necessarily mean it isn't already in production it just won't show that way until then. They don't seem to update the status over the weekend or they may not even do anything different over the weekend(put recently ordered products into production). I'd just wait and if you don't see something by Tuesday then call.
