Sometimes when the R2 was released with i7 i was the first unhappy owner

Well you may get it before me Delivery preparation is not like is on the carrier truck

 

I can't call cause its after 7, but I hope it changes tomorrow. Speedy Gonzalez got mad lucky, I literally ordered an hour after him and he's almost ready to get his :X

I orders mine before the recall and it hasn't been shipped yet( it's in preparation), alot of ppl from the intel issue forum haven't gotten it yet

I'm kind of mad at myself, I didn't order until noon or so.

I woke up SUPER early on the 1st to be disappointed, super early on the 2nd to be disappointed.. I woke up around the same time on the 3rd but was like "ugh I'm not even getting out of bed I KNOW it isn't there"

Low and behold when I wake back up 2-3 hours later theres a 15+ page thread about it being for sale, LOL.

What do you mean, "not fair"? I ordered 1/27, and my laptop is still in the build stage, while you're laptops are already starting to ship out(and according to your posts, you ordered less than a week ago)? THATS not fair.

 

Haha, I understand that, Oranges. I also genuinely feel bad for you guys. I was just comparing myself to him because we made the order at the same time. Anyways, I hope you get your system soon, you've waited long enough.

You guys are very lucky. I just ordered it yesterday and of course the order is still being processed and the EDD is 3/31/2011. I will contact them and ask for next day delivery and ask them if they can ship it to an FPO, AP address.. Hopefully all goes well. I already got charged for my order and it isn't even built/ready to ship yet. Has anyone ever had a pc/laptop shipped to a military installation before through Dell? I also have just the limited 1 year warranty so I may have to change that soon enough. This baby is a huge investment for the price.

 

Dell shipped my XPS to my FPO box. I used EPP not AFFES to buy it. The problem i had with the R3 is that it was only on the CONUS site and not on the OCONUS AFFES site. You can use ShipIt APO.

 

Only problem is that I already ordered it through CONUS to get it shipped to San Diego, CA. Plan was to get it shipped there then have a friend expedite ship it to my location. I'd like it much better if it went straight to where I live instead of having to send it to San Diego first.

 

You can try and e-mail or call a CSR and see if they will change your shipping address.

 

still In Production for me. then again its only 10 AM atm so hopefully it changes.

 

Anyone with the new fixed R3 has order status as shipped ?

 

Not I I even called trying to get the build expedited, but they wouldn't yield

 

I ordered mine on 1/27 with EPP from USA. My updated EDD was 4/13... but my computer went from "In Production" directly to "shipped" today.

I did call today to ask for expedited order... and the person said they would check on my order. So I am not sure that had any effect since my computer shipped within a 1 or 2 hours.

Hopefully this is helpful if you have are in a similar situation as me.

I ordered the 2720 with 460M and 120 Hz.

Mines shipping from NJ.

 

My laptop shipped today too. I cant believe it takes 2 days for fedex to ship it to me, while i could just drive 30minutes and pick it up.

 

I've been having nothing but trouble whenever I speak to Dell CSR's. When I speak to a CSR on the phone to change my shipping address/method, they always tell me that the m17x r3 is still affected by the Intel chipset issue and that orders have been halted and won't be built/shipped until mid to late April.. even though on the website it was re-released and we are able to build our systems to our own configurations and confirm our orders. For web chat, they tell me that all systems are good to go and the Intel chipset problem was addressed and fixed. Do these CSR's really know what the heck is going on or what?

i just called this morning to check on my order status and got free upgraded next day shipping without even asking for it.

 

R3 has been ordered w/the following:

CPU: i7-2630qm
Ram: 4gb
HDD: 320gb
Display: 17.3" WLED 1080p 60 Hz
GPU: AMD 6970M
Wifi: Intel 6300
DVD: Standard

They threw in a free razer orochi mouse + $100 off for a total of $2044 with tax + ship. Not a bad deal.

May i ask why 2630qm or 2620qm if the 2720 is only $150 extra?

Did this earlier today and got upgraded from 29th to 24th, can't wait!

Though I did have to ask... He said "there is nothing I can do" and I said "I NEED this because I won't be there to get it on the 29th is there anything you can do?"

hey speedy what spec did you get? man prolly gonna have to sell off the white case now, since i didn't keep my r2 hahah. didn't even have to chance to slap it on yet.

yeah i was really looking forward to swapping the case, but the r2 they sent me was a dud. oh well the case still look nice all by itself, hehehe

My order got shipped earlier but I'm thinking of returning it unless I could install 6970 or 485m myself or prolly if I get to try and get contented.

I just have this big question, is 6970 and 460m really have that big gap? TIA

 

lol i am sure you can sell it for the right price , are you getting 1600mhz ram? i already have 4gbs but i was thinking on getting the 8gb kit for $99 on newegg to make it 12gb total

Well budget was a limitation and also because the 2630qm is about on par with a 940xm so it was important for cpu comparisons I plan to do.

 

Nice! i was thinking you purchased the 2630 to upgrade later to the extreme cpu

 

no i went with the 1333mhz since i have another 8 gb kit from my old M15x, didn't see the need for 1600mhz yet.

man kinda suck with this soft touch rubber case, really wanted to custom out the casing on it too.

 

I know but the soft touch is a nice finish do you ever try the M17 area 51 it was made with the same finish and it was beautiful

 

Question for those that used DPA: How long was your system in the order processing stage? Mine's been in it for a few hours now and I see they took $45 from the DPA account only. Strange.

 

no i never seen the soft touch in person yet, hopefully its sweet as you say. but i really want a yellow one, hehehe

Hope you can do it within 21 days so you wont have to pay any cent.

 

Is the soft touch easier than Ano Alum to pick up? what color do you have?

 

i got the black. but we were talking about custom painting the case. it was possible to paint the aluminum case, not sure if we can do anything like that for the stuff touch casing.

 

yeah, i know. I was just asking if is easy to pick up since aluminum is kinda hard to pick up

 

hahah what? i don't have the r3 yet to compare it to. but i never felt the r2 was hard to pick up at all, well maybe with one hand it could be hard.

 

That's really weird i order on 3/3 early morning and my account was charged for the full amount Immediately then processing was only 2 hours and then went to production stays like that for 3 days and yesterday shows delivery preparation

A lady call me this morning to lemme know my order will ship on one to two days lol

I e-mailed the EPP rep that sold me the system. She's going to look into it and hopefully get this thing into production. Once it hits production, I'm calling in for NBD
