M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

Booo my order was pushed another week!!

 

They give you a reason why?

 

Dell sent me an email today saying that my new delviary date will be 05/04/2010. I called dell and I was told that it is the build stage, hopefully it won't take that long?

 

If you're near the end you might be ok - Mine was pushed a week while i was in Boxing but I still received it on my original EDD

 

The delay on the 4870s changed to 11 days.

 

It take time people. Best not rush it becuse they can mess up and forget something. I know I have a dell windows cd not a alienware windows cd. Boo Hoo.

 

If yours is a replacement it will remain at unavail. Both replacements have been like this for me. I guess its how they set it up vs a new order.

Yea I been watching it extend, shorten, extend again.. I dont mind if it delays only as long as when I get the system I dont get bad GPUs then I will be highly upset...

 

So I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.
Mine was supposed to be delivered today but this morning i woke up to an email from dell saying it would be delayed until the 13th. Is it worth calling to and try to get an upgrade to the cpu or just suck it up and take the delay? The only piece I scaled back on when i ordered it was the cpu, i got the 720 due to available funds. What do you guys think?

 

This late in the game i doubt you can get the processor upgraded. However you could get freebies like the Mamba mouse, credit, ect..

 

I may call and ask for credit or something. The mouse would just end up on ebay or given to a friend. I've been stuck on track balls since college and have never gotten good at using a mouse since. Well i guess ill call at lunch and see whats up.

Its killing me my home machine died at the first of the month so i have spent the last 4 weeks with only the work laptop, its fast enough but i would feel funny putting games on it.

Nope, my rep hasn't called me back yet. I haven't heard of any BO's anywhere so i can only imagine what the issue is.

 

I just pulled the trigger on the two systems that are in my signature for me and my wife (replacing an Inspiron 6000 & a Dimension B110). 3 of the 4 orders (2 orders=computers; 2 orders=extra power supplies) show that they shipped today... if it's a prank I'm not going to be happy!

On the 30/Mar local courier informed me that mine will be delivered on 6/Apr!!....
Thinking , It would be nice playing with the new toy on Easter break.
Got home from work ,and rang up Dell ,asked for NBD for a fee......after got passed on 3 different reps ,the last one said, she is waiting for confirmation from local courier...later on to my horror the EDD is 12/Apr!!! ??

 

wow man, sorry to hear that. you're not the first one to complain about Australian delivery methods..

 

Mine was set ETA 6th April, it's been changed since and now there's no ETA so it's probably being delayed.

It's still "work in progress" till this day, getting quite frustrated. Has anyone ordered theirs around beginning March and what's your status at?

I'm an Australian buyer.

 

Mine has been sitting in "build complete" since around 24th march, ETA was 8. april... from what ive read, im not expecting it anytime in april.....

 

Just spoke to customer service. I'm informed that they are now processing orders from the 14th of March. Mine was placed on the 24th, so at least 10 days behind. Estimated Shipping Date is now the 20th of April. Slowly going insane without a gaming machine.

 

Noooo, I called and have no ETA! EDD was 3/31 but I'm still in production and in the build stage!

I've been slacking and haven't kept up on my replacement system like my first so I'm not sure what's going on with M17x orders. Does anyone know what's causing this latest in delays (back-ordered parts, parts refresh)??

 

Current status "In Production". Looking at another month for sure. Even though Dell says it will be "7-10" business days. Hope this one doesn't have flickering/other issues.

 

Just found out from my Customer Service guy, that has been so awesome I emailed his boss with accolades, that the 1333 memory is on backorder. He's doing some digging now for options and an ETA

 

I was sent an email from a CS rep that states "Every effort is being made to build the order and ship it out as soon as possible. Currently, there is a huge backlog at the factory, owing to supply constraints. The manufacturing team is working through this."

 

"I did look into the order details and also checked with the manufacturing for the reason for the delay. I have been informed that the keyboard and the processor are on a back order. The factory is doing their best to get the items in stock."

From my customer care rep's manager. The rep is out of town apparently.

 

Hmm.. I just got a call from another CS replacing my old one because he's on a leave or something and the new CS told me everything's on time and it should get here before or on EDD. Am I special?

 

Something is fishy with all the rep changing.

 

Exactly what they have told me the first time. FYI, mine was delayed at last.

 

Mine is in the Build Stage Order Date of 3/19 no EDD as it's a replacement. But the Dell Lady doesn't have an estimated ship time like normal she just skips over the part where she regularly says it.

I got the flyer couple of months ago. I think it was 15% off EPP coupon. one time use. I'm thinking it's not valid anymore but hoping it might be.

Well if it's expired EPP still offer 10% plus an additional $50 coupon if you sign up for EPP spam.

Well, mine is still "In Production", but what is not good is the EDD is listed as "n/a". So who knows. Anyway, my free Razer Mamba will ship tomorrow. NBD shipping says it will leave today and arrive tomorrow. CAN'T WAIT!!

 

Anyone get responses from their reps? Mine still claim keyboard and cpu are on back order, which doesn't make sense to me, as the part that should be causing the delay is are the 4870s.

 

A rep from Dell Blackhawk Team facebook site responded to my question on delays , that my sysytem shows 4/26/2010 so I should get it with NBD on the 27th. No mention of part shortages.

 

Yeah same here. I just got another call from my original CS rep and told me that my order is on time. Man everytime a rep calls me my heart drops. I don't wanna hear the word delay from them!

 

My order got pushed back to the 26th April (Australia).

Ordered mine on the 2nd March, that's a 7 week wait and even then I may not get it.

So frustrated right now

This is crazy. lol

I haven't seen Dell ever have this much problems getting systems shipped out. I wonder if Dell acquiring AW and therefore selling AW products to 75% of the world now threw a kink in the system somewhere.

 

is this a decent config? I am waiting to get a crossfire solution till the new DX 11 cards are more prevalent and I've read little difference between the 820QM

Depends on what you are using the laptop for. I would definitely try to get XFire graphic card. If you regret later, it's going be to pain in the to find an extra card with cable for it. Maybe drop the 6 GB ram to 4 GB and get the XFire?

 

For the $300 (or $280 from EPP) it is to get another card, I would do that for sure as it is most likely worth more than that on ebay.

 

well I was gonna get the cards later on as i heard its not that drrastic of an increase and it doesn't work in all games

But I am mostly curious about the 720QM?
how is it?
