M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

I wonder how many people ordered on 3/3 or 3/4. I ordered mine on 3/3

 

My order date was 3/3, got cancelled, then automatically reordered at 3/7.

 

I have my R3 today with 2820Qm and 6970M

 

So lucky! How long did it take for you to receive it?

 

Also, I ordered an Asus G53JW while I wait.. I have a feeling I'll get my Asus first.

Ok guys Delivery preparation takes 2 days i guess is the transit from china to USA mine shipped yesterday with NBD Delivery but Fedex has this disclaimer on the front page and my system will not be here today

Dont get your hopes up. Mine is still in delivery prep after 2 days...

 

2 Days today right? your machine will ship today but it don't reflect on the website until tomorrow if you have NBD it will be there tomorrow

 

That's no biggy. It is still going to get here faster the I thought it would. Sorry to here about your wait though. Hopefully things get moving more smoothly.

 

Well, found out why Dell never called, they had the AAFES Exchange 1-800 number in there instead of mine. No idea why. Even though the website or phone never updated, I was told the order was done with production on 3/4, and shipped out on 3/7.

AAFES Rep is asking Dell if it is at all possible to work with the machine I have rather than me having to send it back and re-order. I'll update when I hear something, which will probably be later today or tomorrow I would guess.

If they're able to do that I wonder if they also could install 485m if ever they release it in the future. I know the chances are slim but hey its free to dream .

Hopefully it changes from Delivery Preperation to shipped today. It's cause when I click Order Status, it still says In Production. Very weird indeed.

 

My r3 was in that stage for ~30 minutes.
My L501X was in that stage for 3 days (ordered Friday evening).

As I understand it, a rep needs to fill out paperwork before DPA fully goes through.

 

Guys, please pardon my ignorance but what's the difference between one control center and another (well, other than the version number that is)?

 

Im still confused with my status. Wats the difference between boxing stage and delivery preparation? :S

 

Mine didn't change out of "in production" online or "delivery preparation" on the phone until AFTER I actually took delivery of the laptop. In fact, I got my computer yesturday and got the shipping e-mail with tracking number this morning. I wouldn't put too much faith in ANY of Dell's order status'.

 

Both stages mean you're getting it really soon!

Still stuck in delivery prep since Monday afternoon. Next day shipping is mostly useless since Dell ships out of City of Industry for me and it takes only 1 day to get to San Diego.

I think alot of people are stuck in delivery prep, right???

 

@jywang, can you please provide compatibility info if/when you get your vertex3? Here's to hoping the drives actually work with rst 10.x

By dell's website my still shows "In Production" also. However, calling 800-alienwa it changed from "Build Stage" to "Preparation for Delivery" since Monday afternoon.

 

Yes. As soon as it becomes available for order on NewEgg. I can tell you that my Inferno is NOT compatible with the RST drivers. However, it ran perfectly under "RAID" bios setting and no RST drivers installed.

Its been in "preparation for delivery" since last night. Still says "in processing" online. And yes, in asking about what "in processing" meant to my EPP agent, she upgraded it to Next Business Day without me prompting.

The original ETA was 3/25.

 

my eta is the 25th ordered on the 3rd. i had a rep called me this morning telling the latest i will get it is next week.

this seems to be the best place to call to get up-todate information on your order.

not originally got the free one, then called in an got upgraded to NBD for free.

the order status line always say that its delivered for some reason, and the online status page is always showing in production.

the last time i ordered something, i got it delivered before eta, and the online status never change from in production.

lol I checked that I ordered it on 3/3 so you probably will just be a day behind. However, tomorrow is a good day to get it. Cause then I can take pictures at my store with the lighting differences between those and the macbooks

I posted this in the owners thread, but I am so happy I am posting here too, since this is kind of where it belongs.

I am stoked. I just ordered one of these beasts, and I am very excited. I chatted online with an alienware rep, but I wasn't happy with what they could do with the price, so I called to talk over the phone with a rep (per someone's suggestion on here). She was able to take off about $250, as well as throwing in NBD shipping, mostly because I asked her to after she gave me the quote. Obviously it isn't a massive discount, but it's better than I would have gotten if I hadn't called, so whoever said to call and talk to someone about getting a discount is a hero in my book. Can't wait to get this thing in.

P.S. I got the non-3D model, so any discounts applicable to 3D wouldn't have applied to me. Also, I wish I could have gone the AAFES route but I couldn't.
