Actually, it is the r3. The r2 is non sandy bridge, and doesn't offer the 6970, both of which I am getting. I also thought the r2 was 1920x1200, and I am getting a 1920x1080 screen. I will check my order to show more differences, but it is a r3 not an r2. Someone can correct me if I am wrong of course.

Here is a screenshot from Dell's site when ordering the R3. You can see the display options, as well as the option for 3D on the right. Also, if you look at the components in the bottom right, you can tell that this is a R3 being configured, not a R2.

No biggie tho. You did make my heart drop into my stomach for a minute, lol.

 

Is it just me or did they drop the price of the 1080P screen from $150 to $147?

I know the first post says this, but i couldn't get it to work.
what number do you call to check your order status, and what prompts do you follow to get to it? I'm a very impatient man, and really want details on how far along mine is.

I'm also using ShipitAPO so they will end up seeing another m17x r3 there that they need to ship overseas! I still think my Asus G53JW will get here first since I was able to get it shipped straight to my address. We will SEE!

 

Does your ShipitAPO address show the door number? Mine doesn't show the "door" part but the number is there. I should be good, right?

 

My laptop finally arrived!! It is so fricking amazing (and HUGE).

The speakers on this are absolutely amazing, and the 3D looks fantastic. Im so glad I chose this laptop in the end.

 

Congrats! I didn't go 3D because I wanted the 6970m and 'cuz 3D gives me a headache.

mine ordered 3/4, still in production build stage

 

Mine shows the door number. If your's did not ship yet e-mail or call Dell and have them update your address just in case. It was also $100 to ship it. I had it sent Express and insured for $3500.

 

It shows the door number but the "door" before the actual number doesn't show.

 

You know i called them a few days ago, had to dail about 50 numbers from Okinawa. For all that work it said that it shipped 4/13 and EDD 4/18. I'm like ? About 5min later i get an e-mail from dell saying my order has shipped. Don't count on their system to much, just be happy when they say "Shipped".

Same concern, anyone ordered 3/4 has order status marked as "delivery preparation" or "shipped" ?

 

To repeat what I said at 11a:

Its been in "preparation for delivery" since last night. Still says "in processing" online. And yes, in asking about what "in processing" meant to my EPP agent, she upgraded it to Next Business Day without me prompting.

The original ETA was 3/25.

Its in preparation for delivery, hang in there, we'll get them soon.

Damn you. I've been charged, and have been waiting for over a month now. Damn you again, cuz I've been charged already for the reorder, and EDD is late, and the build progress is still "In Production in the Build Stage" over the phone. DAMN YOU guyz for being so lucky!!

P.S. should I call dell and ask about my order? Or will that do nothing? I lost all faith in them the first time I ordered, and "expedite requests" were made 3 times for me, and nuttin.

 

Awsome news for me. My package has already shipped and will be here this Saturday 3/12. Cant wait. I ordered on 3/3. Im sorry for all of you that ordered way before me and still havent recieved yours yet.

Yah, will def call Dell tomorrow to see wassup. I hate waiting this long. Makes no sense for anything to take a whole month to produce, especially if you have assembly lines. And especially since I've been charged already, and this is my 2nd R3 order...

 

I agree with you. it is ridiculous, especially when people are getting the as quickly as what mine is coming in. Hopefully you can get it resolved.

I just played the worst joke on myself. I called 1800- alienwa like i always do this time of night and tonight i mis-typed the order number and apparently the one i typed in was an actual order and it said it had shipped on march 4th. i got so excited (as expected) so i went online to double check and then i looked at my order number and realized i typed it wrong. i think i almost cried as i been waiting for it since 1/27 -_- its still in-production in the boxing stage...

 

That is pretty funny. But I am sorry you are having to waif so long as well. I wonder what's up with Dell. I mean why are they sending new orders out before old ones? Not that I'm complaining. But it sucks for those that have to wait that long. I mean 1 month. Come on!

Well i modified my order on the 4th so its only been in boxing for like 2-3 days but it was just a hard reality wen i thought it was shipped and then a minute later its not lol but still i initially ordered this thing on 1/27 im sooooooo tired of waiting!!!

Questions for those who have ordered through AAFES...Were you able to ship it to an APO? Can you check order status on the dell website? Were you able to use a dell prefered account to purchase?

You know guys, when I was checking order status (like every hour) I didn't see a packaging or boxing stage. It went from in production to shipped confirmed via the fedex confirmation number. So if your rig is just sitting for over 24hrs in "boxing" you NEED to call because that's BS. I'm excited to get my new rig (@ 1500hrs tomorrow) but how did I bypass everyone else when I ordered just last week? Actually it took them a week to build and get it to me exactly.... something fishy is going on and you all need to hit the phones hard.... just sayin.

Also, I did call a few times and chatted via dell.com feeding them a sad story about me taking an emergency trip out of the country. No one budged on the EDD.... but magically it's on the truck.

 

I dont think they're updating the website tracking with "preparing for delivery" or anything.. At least they haven't for me.

I think they're just going to upgrade me straight to shipping. Phone call says that I am "being prepared for delivery". Dell would make my day if it shipped tonight and I had tomorrow and all weekend to play with it
