EDD is still 3/29/2011.. And that's just to my ShipitAPO address.. They still gotta route it to Guam after that!

 

Yes. By default, aafes gives you 7day shipping. Just call dell and explain to them that you've been waiting forever, and really need it for trip/school/work etc. They'll upgrade you relatively easily.

 

FYI: My was in "Preparing for shipping" for 3 days. I think this is the transit time from China to closest Dell shipping port.

For me it is City of Industry, CA. I think there is one for Chicago also.

The next day delivery is silly if you live close enough to one of these ports because fedex ground might also only take 1 day.

We should try to gather a list of all Dell shipping locations...

 

Just checked on mine via Phone still says in boxing phase,same as last knight

 

so i ordered on 3/3 and have a edd of 3/28 on the web site. Seeing so many of you getting your R3 already, i decided to call up dell and give it a shot. Although my status on the Web says in production the agent told me the system is done in build and in the QA stage and should ship in 24-48 hrs. Perhaps this is the "boxing stage" that some of you are seeing? I asked if i could get it expidited and she said she sent an email to the correct department. We shall see if it helps. If i can get it shipped today or tommorow, i should be able to pick it up at the fed-ex holding depot.

Steve, I believe someone (dane?) already called FedEx asking to hold the box and they said they need to make at least one attempt to deliver. And I remember hitting the "hold it at facility" (or something along those lines) link on the tracking page and it said that this shipment is not "holdable" or something (just don't remember whether it was for pre-recall R3 or Envy).

Speedy, just for kicks, can you please click on "hold at fedex location" link (just don't go through with it if it allows you) and see if it can be held?

However, Gonzalez, i suggest you to call Fedex and tell them to slow down in order to keep the package safe. Tell them to take their time, you can get it next week no problem no rush. Its a $2000 machine

 

not true...i did it with my las R3....if you call they will do it, the web site is not as helpful

 

They're not supposed to hold at facility unless Dell authorizes it before hand, after one delivery attempt they can though. The easiest way to do it would be just to call Dell and they can forward authorization to do a hold at facility with a signature/id requirement.

 

I've had that issue several times since I actually work about 1000 feet from a shipping facility.

Certain orders require it to be delivered to the actual address and you can't pick it up even with the correct ID (yeah it sucks). Thats why I have them deliver it to my work, since I am there more then at my house lol.

Ordered on 3/7/2011 with 1 day shipping says EDD 3/28/2011 - Currently In Production !!!! HOW MUCH LONGER!!! AAAA its been this way since the evening of the 8th ... I even ordered hyper x ram to help sooth the wait by getting it earlier... this is bad...

Guys any one got their r3 v.2 already and can say from experience how long the "in production" stage is?

 

Bleh i just called Dell and they suck. I told them i ordered the same time as all of you who are already having their orders shipped and the lady kept spurting out that i will get it on the 29th of march and no earlier. I told her it was in the boxing stage and she still told me it would take until march 29th. ughhhhhh i swear Dell must have the DUMBEST customer service.

 

Take it easy bro, I ordered mine way back 1/26 and I just got it this Tuesday so I can't give you a definite answer in the "Currently in production stage". Chill, it'll come to you with candies.

What if it actually works and they bring the machine back to the facility lol.

 

This is what my sales Rep. told me A few min ago.: It still shows on my end that it is in the last stage of production. There is a chance that it will leave today, but I wouldn’t want you to take a day off if we couldn’t guarantee that it would be there tomorrow. If it doesn’t leave here in the next 2 hours, it will leave in the morning and if that is the case it probably won’t get there tomorrow. I’m glad the expedite request got approved but I apologize if it doesn’t get there tomorrow. I will check again at 3:30 CST and email you and let you know if it’s shipped out yet or not. So here i site and wait some more. LOL

 

I totaly agree with you i did the same thing. Better to talk with your sales rep. you will get better answers that way. and not some idiot in the costomer sevice desk. that will just keep teling you the same info on there web site.

 

the alien has landed!!! Only minor scare when I was being prompt the a/c adapter wasn't supported.... seems to work fine now

Has not shipped out yet still in boxing phase so it looks like monday as of right now.

 

I called and asked why my package was in the delivery preparation stage even after 48 hours and I finally got the answer that it is in testing now and ship out soon. So hopefully I get it tomorrow or Saturday.

 

Got mine too but i can't do much here on my job the SSD and ram is at home ready to go in i just hope the patriot inferno doesn't have compatibility issues with the controller like the OZC

I feel your pain. Mine’s at San Fran International with its boarding pass waiting for a flight to Japan then to Okinawa. Been a long 40 days and still counting.

 

mine shipped today. ordered 3/3. should have it tomorrow or saturday as the standard shipping is usually fedex home delivery and they run on saturdays. that and even with standard i always get them in a day or two.

only upgrade was the lcd.

 

Talked to Dell today, apparently they ran out of R2 black cases? anyone order a black case around the 23rd? They are trying to see if they can substitute colors..

 

Judging by the shipping info, it should be here tomorrow!

 

I'm just pissed that people who ordered within HOURS of me are either sitting with their laptop or have a tracking number set to go and could even expect it tomorrow.

It wasn't even like they ordered stock either..

The complete lack of transparency between Dell and its employees has been VERY disappointing. The Sandybridge problems and a rep telling me "like.. it would cause the computer to DISINTEGRATE! YEAH!"

The fact that my rep didn't even know / couldn't find out simple info about the PC and if it comes with a second bracket if I order one HDD on the call for a sale.

The fact that the online order status says building but phone has said delivery prep.. for 2 days.

The fact that everyone just seems clueless about what the other side of the company is doing.. Its just bad.

/rant over, I'm sure I'll be happy when I get it but you and everyone else here has to admit that Dell has some SERIOUS communication problems.

 

I couldn't agree with you more. Speaking with the CSR's on the phone, they tell me that my system is affected by the Intel chipset problem and that i won't be receiving my system until mid to late April but speaking to CSR's through the online chat and they tell me that everything is fine and that my system will ship soon. They definitely have problems with communication.

R2 and R3 use the same case? for some reason i thought it was differant but im noticing a trend with people that ordered black..

If thats the next business day, they don't work much at FedEx.

 

I think that is because the are closed on Sunday for sure and monday also. so that sounds about right your recieving it on the 15th.

 

I would assume that since it was shipped on Thursday that the next business day would be Friday?

And the 15th is a Tuesday.
