Can't you just go into the device manager and make sure all the components are correct? I only ask because I do not know what gpu-z is or does.

 

gpu-z gives you ton of info on your gpu you should check it out. but yeah dev man should work for that guys purposes

Well, i plan on getting gpu-z anyway, so i figured i would just check when i got it. But yeah, device manager would work as well.

Bah I canceled the order. I don't know, I have second thoughts. Amazing laptop for sure, but all this wait time just makes you think about what else you can buy, lol.

 

My system arrived today! I ordered on 3/6 via the website (used my employee discount). My config was 2720QM, 6970 video, 16GBs DDR, 320GB standard HDD, FHD screen, Bluray, 6300 wireless.

It's a beast, all right, but gorgeous! I'm still restoring all of my programs / backups to it, but it's fun.

Here's hoping the rest of you get your systems as quickly if not sooner!

 

What day did it ship?

 

It shipped on 3/14, originated in Georgia for some reason, and arrived here in Austin area two days later. Pretty fast for ground shipping in my book.

 

I'll give it until next week to see if it ships or not.. Then I might just have to cancel it and get a refund. My G53 is keeping me busy at the moment so I can wait a little longer.

 

Still in production.. Haha, dang!

 

Just checking in... my status is the same as it was last month... Like someone suggested yesterday, I'm gonna wait until next Tuesday (12business days total). If it's not here by then, their phone lines (and ears) will be on fire, cuz they promised me various times that they'd bump me up to the top of the "expedite" list, cuz I was part of the recall. This promise of course, was mixed with the usual apologies and the "we're working very closely with Intel to get systems shipped out as soon as possible."

 

I'll give them until Friday of next week.. If all else fails, CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL!

 

I got it for too good of a price to find an alternative at this point...

 

Actually... So did I... Hmmm, I may have to wait it out as well... I really want this notebook.

Ok So far we can safely say that AAFES does not really effect the time (which I originally though, and so doesn't the custom name plate. Perhaps location.... Here we have 2 customers - ronkuba and sean_macvay both ordering through AAFES and on the same day (3/5) yet Sean who is in PA has his already but Ronkuba is still in production (WA)... we need more data! (in a geeky voice)

Facts so far:
Ground shipping takes 2-3 days

most order to delivery times have been posted as 10 days

Some are going on their 12th day of waiting

Opinions so far:

Your location seems to have an impact (perhaps multiple build sites)

post 3/5 orders are looking to take longer than 10 days order-to-delivery times perhaps increase in order traffic....

Custom nameplate engraving seems to have no correlation to order delivery time

Just what I wanted to hear. I have been waiting since January 12th. I honestly feel that this whole R3 thing is a dream. I can't envision myself actually holding this product. For those complaining about having to wait 12 business days. I can honestly say I do not feel for you. I would have maybe in February, but now? No. I have been waiting since January 12th. I did get excited at one point when I saw people ordering on March 6th and getting them by now, but along comes another potential delay and more rumors.

48 hours after my replacement went into production and still no EDD on that, sigh.

 

Ok its starting to look like everyone from order date to delivery date is getting it from 10-14 days, everyone other than the re-orders (which is quite mean if you ask me)

I hope you get it tomorrow or sat, but remember there have been a few people on here that said their systems were in "preparing for shipment" for 2-3 days.

Nice I've got that exact same config. I can't wait to pit the machine against my SB desktop with a gtx460. I hear the 6970 comes pretty close to that desktop card.

So.. I was told that the reason for our customized notebooks taking so long in the build/production stage is because of the availability of parts.. The usual 10-15 day wait time and that includes Dell testing our machines to make sure there are no problems. He also told me that it's honestly worth the wait time to get this baby. So now I will wait and hopefully get it shipped soon.

 

It kind of has to travel from China. I seriously doubt Dell put 8 of my 9 days it took from ordering for "quality control and testing" after seeing the absolute (lack) of it.

 

I think they are also made and/or assembled in Malaysia.

 

Lets keep the posts focused on order status only. You want to ask someone about their order which was just received or to test a specific aspect, pm them. Posts on accessories and other components do not belong here.

Ditto. Myths and unicornz up till now. All my phone calls placed do absolutely nothing to my actual EDD. If any "expedite requests" had actually went in, then I'd assume the EDD would change. So basically they're just telling me they're putting in the request to shut me up (imo of course).

Same. Good thing this time around (as opposed to the first time I ordered on 1/28), I'm very busy at work and personal stuff to worry about the computer.

This is what they told me when I called. It's kind of an obvious response. It totally sucks though, that they value me and you less than BRAND NEW customers who ordered post-recall. Pretty shady if you ask me, cuz they should try to get ours shipped out early for being loyal customers. But then again, we did save 30% , so they know we'll wait

Also, why are people (negatively)commenting on "NBD" being shipped as "Ground"? Did you expect an airplane landing at your front door? I don't get it. Please advise

Weekends don't count, I don't think. So 7 days so far. That means 8 for me. We should both wait till next Tuesday 3/22, and then if it's not here yet, or if it doesn't jump into boxing or shipping stage, then spit hot fire in their eardrumz!

 

Hi, man I have to say, I have read a great deal of posts in here and I almost didnt order an m17x because of them, but I did anyway, thank god. It took a whole 9 days including shipping, yes it has a custom name plate and shipped from china.

But it works great, I ve had it since tuesday the 16th of march 2011 I ordered it on 3/7/2011

I got the 3d with the 1080p 120 refresh screen raid 0 1.5TB 8 gigs of ram win 7 ultimate.

I didnt get an ssd or blue ray writer, and its nvidia.
