M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

As long as the laptop makes it to my doorstep scar-free and problem-free and in a fair time i don't care about how it's done My current laptop (or should I say former now since it fried two weeks ago) has left me hanging, so I'm desperate for my R3 to arrive

 

I had no add-on games installed and am stilll waiting. So I don't think people should worry because they had games pre-installed.

 

I'll be ordering my system tomorrow. I hope I can get an American sales rep on the phone. We shall see what the outcome is.

 

I ordered all of the games as well and i received my system on 3/16 with an order date of 3/4. Cant be that.

 

Do you think maybe its the system color?

No mine is a Toshiba Satellite X200, served me well in its time but the last year or so it was overheating so much that I couldn't play any of the recent games

 

Anyone know if the Nvidia 3D ships faster than the Radeon 2Gig configuration

 

^ This lol, also Dell said before that there may be delays until they catch up with orders and repairs for the sandy bridge chipset / mobo problem. Most likely they are behind and waiting on more mobos from intel.

 

Either way, I'm still in the build stage.. Hah.

 

I don't think so. Thats what I ordered and I haven't received it yet. 11 days since I ordered on the 9th. Will be 12 days tomorrow. I hope they ship a bunch of ours out tomorrow and the next day, so that we can all get them before the week is out.

 

I sure hope so. Mine has been in the "preparing for shipping" stage since last Thursday. It seems like it will be coming from Chicago IL which is about 5 hours from where I live.

 

i have never anticipated something as much as i am anticipating my r3. probably because this will be my first gaming pc. ive been a pc gamer since doom 2

You know it man! My first was a Tandy 1000HX. Had that awesome 16 color CGA capability! Those were the days ...

Sierra games were so awesome, Space Quest and Manhunter in addition to the KQ series. I loved them all. Most of them can be had and run in DOSBox today. There excitement is not the same however. Now we need 3D rendering and high frame rates and tessellation, etc, etc ....

 

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but could anybody hook me up with one of their reps that got them a good deal? Sorry, trying to order my r3 and trying to get the best deal like always.

Wow I feel for you guys.

Hey listen to all who know. I just ran Vantage and I kinda think I got dissapointing scored in with my config - 10k gpu 20.5k cpu p12345 overall

anyone know what the score should be on this config or about where should I be?

 

Call, cancel, reorder. Yours is prolly stuck in limbo and will NEVER BE PRODUCED, like my first order on 1/27. Don't really know the reason, but prolly cuz those batches were set aside and will be recalled (dismantled). They shouldve called you...

It's still not here yet

 

Longer story than just sitting there since Jan. 12th. The first one shipped but as it left their facility, the truck got in an accident and the computer was destroyed (true story). They expedited my next order, but then the recall. Then they cancelled that without giving me the option to keep it. So I am willing to give my EDD of March 29th a chance for now. It just seems like nothing has moved since folks were getting theirs from the Mar. 3/4th batch.

 

What was the most recent order date with Dell/AW?

 

Jan. 12th. (Expired)

i've lost hope in getting it before the 4/4 EDD

 

I can't believe that your current order is from the 4th and you haven't received it yet. The only bad thing is that the EDD is so far from the order date that, we really just have to sit back and wait I guess. I feel for all your problems, and really hope that whatever is holding up all these systems get cleared up and fixed so that they can start to ship out everyone's order!!!

 

Update: Still no contact from Dell. Still no contact from AAFES. Every time I call AAFES now, the contact person is "in training" or "decided to take a day off" and I'm promised a phonecall.

Starting to get really really tired of this. I just want to cancel and reorder, can't even do that without being given the run-around it seems.

 

Did you also order 3/9 with the 25% discount?

Yeah, at this point it would just be stupid to cancel. Only a week from tomorrow for it to arrive with NBD and if it at least doesn't ship by then, I might cancel at that point after a call first. I can wait one week though. I would be a fool not to. I am most pleased that I found these forums and not just because of the Status Discussion thread. Pretty nice community overall.

 

I can't believe some people. I want mine as bad as anyone, but canceling an order because it hasnt arrived 2 weeks before the EDD seems extreme. They deserve at least a chance meet their advertised delivery date

 

I know what you are saying. I have been waiting since Jan. 12th and that was the main reason I posted my story was because I saw some people up and arms because they were waiting 10 business days. Though it seems this board is settling down and many have gotten theirs or are waiting out their dates.

 

I can understand the folks who've been in limbo since January being upset. I would be. But if you just placed your order last week or this week or two weeks ago, then hang tight. My first AW laptop a few years back took 3 weeks to get. Remember, these are not Inspiron 1525's. They're not just lining the shelves with them.

 

I'm still at the "In Production" stage, ordered 3/3. I just really hope they ship on the estimated date of 3/24. I mean I could call before then, but what good is that really gonna do? I really need it by April 3rd so I'm crossing my fingers.

Also, I've heard Dell only charges you once they ship. Is that correct? I just paid it with a debit card and the money was taken out of my account for pending, but it never went all the way through.

 

i need it this week or i'll be deploying without a laptop.

 

so nobody got a delivery today ? time for someone to ask if there are shortages at the production line and insist on knowing, in a modern production line very little is in stock, maybe 10 days worth - if that rolls out quick then things tend to dry up

^ I got upgraded to the next day one, but it still says estimated delivery date of 3/28 so I don't really know which one it is. Hopefully I get it by then.

I wasnt referring to those that ordered during the intel fiasco. Those guys I feel for. Heck I was on the fence everyday about going 3D or waiting for the 6970M, and got upset that I had to wait to order. But I was mainly talking about those that want to cancel their order because it's been 10 days since they ordered and it's not t their doorstep. My original EDD was like a month out.

I think I saw a guy(the One Ring in his avatar) in the owners lounge posting that he received his R3 today. So that's a good sign.
