    I thought I was doing something wrong everytime by having to re-enter the order number.

    On another note; just checked the web, still in production, called on the phone and it said it shipped on Feb 4th. So I re-entered order number and said still in production. It got my hopes up because it said it shipped and that tracking info would be available and then it it said that it shipped on Feb 4th. I was all excited until it said the date. I was like wait, I ordered it AFTER Feb 4th. lol Talk about long shipping times.

    Also I did not enter the number wrong! I know that number like my SSN now. I also checked my phone and compared the 2 times that I entered it.

    My Order status still shows "In Production" with my EDD of March 29th. However, when I call I only get the "In Production" "Build Status" and now no date is given. It used to say that more order is scheduled to ship on March 28th. Looks like I won't be getting anything anytime soon. What a fun, pleasant wait it has been since January 12th.

    I wouldn't sweat it. We have seen how Dell operates with updating the online portion and the phone part as well. Yours could have already shipped.

    There seems to be a pattern that this could be the case and that's what I am hoping for, but then not knowing messes up my schedule and I can't take off work to wait at home on a prayer. Though I graduated from VCU, so prayers do come true.

    I know what you mean bout taking off of work. I'm home today and hoping that it comes. I'm out of town tomorrow, so with my luck I'm sure it will show up tomorrow. I should be back in town later in the day so I might have to track the delivery people down and get it from them. Only problem with that is, if I don't have a tracking number, I won't know who to contact to try and get it.

    Well, if I see a slip on my door, then I know it was shipped and I can't complain, I have NBD so I should be able to get to FedEx that night and pick it up. Though it's the Home Delivery Shipping that has me worried. They keep their packages or so I've heard.

    I wouldn't count on it. Mine's still been in production since 3/8 and calling in to speak to a rep only confirms its never been shipped. Dell's a big mystery haha.

    Today mine has actually moved to to next stage "Manufactuting Build Complete" :)

    Although the EDD had also moved to 07-Apr-2011 :mad:

    Whats up with that man, taking in the new date, how long does it take from here, will the date move forward again or does it normally get to the customer faster now? :confused:

    Mine's still on "in production", so if your order is any indication, then I should expect that my EDD will indeed be pushed back.

    Oh well, I think i am done then. I have been waiting since Jan. 12th. I think I am finally done. Going to cancel tomorrow when my EDD hits. I can't even imagine why they don't call or give any kind of update why your computer will not be delivered. I'm simply burnt out now.

    Dont sweat it yours might just show up randomly like some others did. Mine didnt come yet today and i usually get packages in the morning so its either tomorrow or wed which is my EDD.

    My status changed to "Shipped" with an EDD of 4/4..

    I Ordered on 3/8 through AAFES with an original EDD of 4/4.. Has been in the production stage until today.

    I called and my computer is on backorder with no EDD. I will not be getting a computer.

    Update: I got transferred around and the next person I talked to said that it was because of the recall and no one was getting systems and you all don't have yours right now. See a problem there? The guy was from returns and since he had no hard evidence he sent me to another customer service rep. The fun part about that rep is she tells me their systems are down, so they can't help me. Basically they (the first 2 poeple I talked to) said that there is nothing they can do for my order other than cancel it and order a different system.

    Try speaking with a different rep. Some people are just not as competent as the others. Took me a few tries until I found a rep who knew what was going on. He even offered to call when the computer ships.

    There sure is a huge disparity in the way different folks are treated by the AW/Dell customer service.

    I have an EPP purchase, the one time I called to make a change to my shipping method, I was transferred as the CSR stated "I cannot help you as you are an EPP purchase, please hold". The person I was transferred to was nice and helpful but I don't know why the first guy could not help me.

    I had called to up my shipping to NBD, fully prepared to pay the extra 150 or whatever the cost, just get the darned thing here asap ... They did this for me and did not charge me for it.

    Today I received an email from [email protected] telling me that my order was in the production stage and would ship on or about 4/7 but it may be earlier or it may be delayed. OK ... They also stated that they would be watching it closely for me and let me know of its status.

    Is this some sort of special service? Weird, I have ordered at least a half dozen systems from Dell over the past 13 years and I don't think I have ever had such an unusual experience as with this particular order.

    Ordered 3/17, EDD 4/8 with NBD shipping ...

    I ordered my M17x on 4 March and was given an EDD of 29 March. This morning I get an email stating my order has been delay and the new EDD is 19 April. They really wanted me to cancel the order too. Seems the metric by which they are judged puts a cancellation by the customer higher than a late shipping date.

    I'm burnt out on this whole thing, there isn't a computer on God's green earth that is worth the pain.

    Thats not a special service they just say that to comfort you and after they are done looking closely at it they will tell you the same exact thing the automated order status thing would tell you.

    Woot. Just got an email from a Dell rep stating mine shipped and should be delivered on the 29th. Sigh.. then I need it shipped to me here in Afghanistan. :/

    I called to get my automated status and it took me to a rep, they said that it was shipped, I inquired further to see when it shipped and she said the server was down. The online status page is down too

    There seems to be a big disparity in how people and their orders are being treated. I imagine there is a lot of reasons for this, but calling CSR will just get you someone who will read the same information on the website too you. No one, even the senior people, will do much for you if you call.

    I tried that last time I called Dell and the Supervisors were all in meetings. If it happens to me again, I will give them my number and tell them that a Supervisor had better call me back. I bet the Supervisors get out of their meeting right after that.

    My order has been delayed "indefinitely", when I get transferred to Customer Sevice to take the case further, I get told that because their systems are down I will need to call back in 2 to 3 hours. So it looks like my wait since January 12th for a laptop from Alienware was for not.

    Get this - I rang the order status reps today and got fed the recall story and they had stopped selling the system until Intel sorts out the problem. Asked would I like to cancel? No Thank you. The rep was adamant that the recall problem hadnt been solved. Dell should really sort out the information flow within the company when theres still reps who thing the whole Intel Chipset issue hasnt been resolved already!

    But your so close to getting it that is ridiculous .. When you do get a hold of them make sure you talk to higher up those reps are not with the times.

    Mine is still processing for shipping i hope i dont get the plug pulled on me.. Im guessing they cant since its ready to ship cause my custom name plate would be on it right?

    I posted earlier that it could be a shortage of something in production and suggested it might be the stealth black case, those that are being pushed back - did you order stealth black per chance ?

    Update; So I called Dell customer support to return several items that were shipped to me when I ordered my M17x on the 4 of March. I got transferred to the team that handles returns who helped me chase down the order numbers for items and he asked me why I was returning them. I told him that the order had been delayed three weeks and I was sending them back, should I decide to cancel my order. He stated that, in fact my order had shipped and I should double check the Fedex tracking number first. he held the line while I called up FEDEX on my MacBook Pro and it came up with a delivery date of the 29th...

    I hope Fedex is better at keeping it's information straight ...

    I ordered mine on the 12th of March. It said preproduction the whole time...

    I called the number this morning and it said it was in pre-production and based on the status that it would ship on the 29th or March, 2011.

    Their status system is all messed up or they are out right lying to me.

    I guess I'll find out tomorrow if it ships...will updated tomorrow.

    I'm sure you will get your comp. But the nameplate is held on by a few screws. They could change that out in a heartbeat. Don't think that is the only reason that you would get it.

    I don't know how you ordered on the 12th and it's supposed to ship on the 29th? I ordered on the 9th and it's supposed to ship on 31st. But it is possible. It's Dell!

    It still says in production. I'm hoping that the system didn't update like other peoples and that it actually shipped today. Either get it tomorrow or the next day. I don't know, I'm going out of my mind waiting for it. Playing all the scenarios out in my head and trying to figure out how and when is just burning my brain up. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed tonight and hope that it shows up real soon. Good luck with yours and hope that you get it ASAP! Hope everyone else gets theirs ASAP as well.

    Just called the number and it says that they are preparing my order to ship. The thing I don't understand is, I actually ordered on the 8th but it was later at night, so my order on the 9th (to dell) should have been one of the first ones processed and I would have thought that I would be one of the first one's receiving it. I don't understand how someone on the 10th has already received theirs almost a week a before me!!! It should be first come first serve. I'm sure Nothing Shocking would agree with me!!!

    Just wanted to tickle any of y'all who just ordered :p

    I called today to get a replacement for my damaged lappy. EDD for the new one is 4/1 :p WAYYY faster than it took to receive my original one. It'll actually be two days after the original EDD of this first one, lolz. Sorry :D
