M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

Did they give you a new order number? Or you just used your old order number?

 

I was given a new order number (it's been cancelled as of today). I expect to get a new order # though.

 

I should ask them for my new order number. I wonder why didn't give me one. How many times did they already cancel your order?

 

Glad you got yours man! Mines coming later today (15th). Can't wait. Hopefully it will get here pretty early.

 

Mine is prepping for shipping, according to the phone line.

 

can you guys please include when you have placed your order, when mentioning your m17 is on the way or been delivered. thanks. i ordered mine on 3/23 and its been delayed twice now, the new edd is 5/12.

 

For the replacement, this was the first time it was cancelled. I hate it when they cancel and don't inform you via email/phone. Only cuz I'm impatient and call 1800ALIENWA everyday do I find out that it's cancelled. Dell is soooo shady with this. This same thing happened with my first order that was a part of the SB fiasco.

 

Mine is already SHipping through Fed Ex. Have a tracking number and everything. It will be here today since its 1:30 am here. So i don't have to worry about another delay unless it gets completely detroyed from Tennessee to here in alabama. Even still gues because of the first delay im kinda worried about it. Either way can't wait to get it and start taking pictures.

Yeah i know. As long as there aren't any problems i don't already know how to fix it will be well worth the wait.

My estimated date was supposed to be 19 april but it got extended to 11/05/2011. Really dissapointed.

 

11/05/11 is surely a typo I hope!

My R3 EDD was supposed to be today 4/15/11. Yesterday it was extended to 5/13/11. I called and the guy said it was "waiting on parts". He did not know, of course, what parts. I asked if I could cancel, he said that was possible, wanted to transfer me to "The Cancelation Team". I stopped him short of that. At the moment I am thinking seriously of jumping ship.

 

Yeah mine came from Ellenwood, GA. To TX.

 

All you guys getting your EDD's bumped up to May are making me really nervous. Nobody is going to be here to accept my order in May, lol.

 

That is 11 May not 11 November!


I'm still trying to talk to the sales guy to see why and what can be done since that is too long.

 

EDD pushed from 4/19 to 4/27. Im glad its not into May... yet !

 

Mine is already at the local Fedex location. SO i should get it around 10 today. There is still hope that our orders can come this month. I think they are just bumping to may so that it is a more reasonable estimate instead of giving you something they may have to push back again.

 

Out for delivery... The mother ship gets closer.

 

Well guys i just got mine about an hour ago. been playing with it. Drivers games Ect. Loving it so far. Only complaint i have it that the bar at the top where the media key sticks up. Not really a big problem for me i barely notice it but for 2k computer it shouldn't have any of that. Seems like they rushed it but im glad they did to be honest. the wait was killing me.

Nice man. Since the payment for mine was just taken out i gotta wait a couple more weeks befor i can do the 485.

 

I love it. Its like no other laptop ive had.

First boot took a while but after that it booted in less than 40 seconds. didn't really count or time it but i would say a solid 30 seconds give or take a couple seconds.

 

That's great news. I opted for the weaker 460 over the 6970 because I wanted the better screen. Did you try out any 3d stuff yet? 3d to me is gimmicky, but it's still neat to be able to do it on a laptop imo.

 

Mine was shipped. EDD updated to show up...TOMORROW?!

i was ordered mine through HIDevo march 27th ...i didnt have any EDD so i chat with a guy named robert he tripled checked for me and said my notebook arrived today and it would ship monday !!! fingers crossed especially since my three-year-old hp is dying on me

 

Congrats Florick, it was definitely worth the wait IMO. I left it at home today and only got to play with it for a few hours last night. Looking forward to spending some time on it over the weekend.

Wish I had that SSD ... :-/

I ordered mine on 4/4 and I just got this email as well! Fedex tracking shows that it is only 25 min away at a Fedex location and will be delivered TOMORROW!!! This HAS to be a record!!!

Too bad I won't be home tomorrow.

WOW! So lucky...I ordered mine through AAFES on 3/30, and one of their agents told me they spoke with Dell to expedite my order...THat didn't seem to do anything for me. Who did you bribe?

 

I love the 3d. I play a little bit of Aion and it looks great on that game. Not very good on Rift though.

Well worth the wait. only downside is that strip at the top sticking out.

 

I ordered around the 18th of last month, still listed as "In Production". But after reading about the M18X... with the return of the aluminum body, the on-board sound card and added subwoofer, I sent the Dell rep who took my order an e-mail asking him if I could cancel my order if the M18X was really coming soon.

Since it's still "In Production", does that mean that I may not have to pay for the 15% restocking fee?

There are a few other reasons why I was thinking about canceling... the 3D abilities, albeit cool... probably isn't worth the loss of horsepower had I opted for the 2GB Radeon. Also, I ordered 8 GB of RAM through Dell, but saw on these forums that I could get much better Kingston RAM at a cheaper cost. I also opted not to get a warranty or replacement plan with my M17X order, which made me think twice since some people said the extended warranty can be worth the purchase (especially since I live in Japan most of the time, and I heard the warranty extends to Japan).

Anyways, if I can't cancel my order, I'm sure the M17X I ordered will be fine for my needs. But I hope I can upgrade. Anything's better than my 6-year old lappy that overheats after 1 hour.

 

Well I had XP then switched to MAC (OS X) for 4 yrs. It is easy so far just taking some getting used to. I used a friend's VISTA, HATED THAT THING.

 

Vista is the worst! But I'm sure you will love the windows 7!

 

So I just cancelled the G53SW I had on order to return to my beloved Alienware.

I ordered on 4/14 without the 3D screen. Also with the 2630qm and 6970m. I wonder, do you think it's the 3D screens that hold these up?

My EDD is 5/8 and I'm hoping it arrives before that with overnight shipping selected.

Hey dookie man! Got my order number number, Its in production but still no edd.

 

That's next Wednesday. Pretty soon. Hope you get it this time. Mine is still in production, due to a part shortage. Parts were suppose to be in yesterday, so we will see.

 

Yah, it says "Information Temporarily Unavailable" on the order status page...AGAIN lolz.

Well, the csr guy said the reason it was cancelled was due to a problem with the nameplate. Something about a custom nameplate shortage, so they're gonna ship with generic ones, and (I'll just swap it with my current one). Such a stupid reason to cancel an order...dumbbutt manufacturing dept.

 

Actually i think yours should be delivered the same exact date (if not sooner). and the reason is i have the exact config as you and i ordered 27th march today i chat with a rep (from HIDevo) and he said they got my r3 and will ship it by Monday ! so I guess the problem lies in shortage of the 2720 cpu and 3d screen !

Heh! I just called Dell to "inquire" about my R3 and the indian lady on the line upgraded my shipping to next business day to placate me. lol. So funny. These guys are so full of it.

 

Anyone know if the in home service applies to all of North America. I ordered from Dell USA but I live in Canada and I am using it here. One rep said the in home service still stands because Dell has a presence in Canada but another rep said I would have to change to an international warranty upon receiving my laptop. Thanks

 

wow.. 800-alienware ? I bet you sounded really pissed off.. what was your EDD?

 

my r3 was re-oreded on 04-14-11 and the EDD is 04-21-11...Also called the order line and said it is being built right now, then goes to testing then shipped on the 20th. Hope it stays that way.
