-

-
how are you enjoying the one you have now ?
-
im enjoying is very well. But i havent dont really anything to it just loaded some games and play those dont wanna invest to much time tweaking and updating since ill have to do it all over again for the new one. But im impressed with the power the current one has run crysis 1900by1200 on high flawlessly lol so its great.

Well placed my order last night...since I'm still in Afghanistan no worries really. I just hope it shows up around the time I get home, that would be the ideal plan
-
whoohooo my m17xr2 is sent! just got my tracking number! order date 1ste april and sent now. did i set a new record?
in production since 4/8 and sent on 4/13 today. delivery was noted to be expedited so probably recieve it tomorrow or day after. -
nice, congrats!
-
Ordered mine on March 1st. 7+ weeks sure feels long. -
don't know if it has to do something with the fact that i called them daily.
also use the laptop for my business and pressed that i could not accept 5 weeks waiting time. cost me money > dell money.
my old xps m1730 also deemed hazardous with smoke and burn smell. so not usable at all.
As the fault has been deemed hazardous by Dell and through Dell's safety obligations to our customers we are committed to collect the faulty part from you and dispose in a safe manner to avoid potential injury.
so fine be my that dell forces me a nice upgraded replacement on me but better make it a quicky.
looks like it had some effect on reducing production /delivery. -
Sounds like they pushed you to the front of the line, congrats!
-
can't wait till the ups guy comes up to my door. i'm 28 but these things make me feel like a kid on a sugar rush -
hmm..might have to sic the wife on them

So one week and one day from when the replacement order was made and Dell.com still says EDD: N/A and Status: In Production. Trying to contact my rep to see if it's the Anodized Black cover holding it up or another wait for a secondary 4870HD.
Rep told me two weeks from when the order is placed (Even though I know it's going to be a good month) so I am taking his word for it just to test. -
cards were on backorder but ait started world wide delivery again.
but then again my order got build in 2 workdays due priority -
mine is out for delivery.. Fedex needs to hurry the heck up.. They sometimes are here first thing in the morning but this time they are not.. I prolly have a couple more hours to wait :-(
-
Kilthro & Xennox
You both got replacements correct? Did you get new replacements or refurbs? -
I was told New so that is what I am expecting. I am sure if it was refurb i wouldn't have had to wait a month for it.. Yes it was a replacement for my R1
-
-
Oh the torment of waiting! >.< -
you guys are bas tards... until i get mine
Are they built in malaysia? cuzz if so... they get built while we are sleeping.... they are 12 hours ahead of eastern -
-
delivered yay!

Would it be better to purchase the i7 620M or 720QM?
What is the difference? Which is faster? -
Dell shipped my replacement unit to an address I haven't lived at for over 4 years. dell ...
Called them on this yesterday, and they will have to "retrieve it" from the old place of residence. Who's to say whomever lives there now won't just keep it.
So tired of Dell so very tired. -
-
Edit: so the 620 is dual core and the 720 is quad? -
Ok... I'm officially grumpy at this particular moment. Received an email from Dell yesterday of "revised" delivery date of 04/19/2010. Original delivery date was supposed to be 04/14/2010... Then I had rep upgrade the shipping to next business day delivery. The new delivery date was supposed to be 12th of April.
This is causing some heartburn as that I am due to leave the country soon. In general I like my rep. He seems to be a nice enough guy and replies to me emails. i sent him a courteous message explaining my situation and what Dell / Alienware would do to keep me happy. He hasn't replied yet. But it has only been about an hour or so.
I didn't want to ask for any upgrades in the laptop as that I don't want to further delay it. Not sure what to ask for that they will be willing to cough-up. Any ideas?
Anyway I am just grumpy as that it was SUPPOSED to be here in my loving hands. And it is not! -
I just found out from my rep that there is a backorder on 500gb HD holding up orders.

Delivered! Time to enjoy
Then tomorrow time to set some new benchmark standards

Welcome to the owners club to those of you that received your systems. It's a sweet place to be.

Well with all of you getting your beasts looks like there is room for one more on the agony thread. How soon after you hit boxing did you get to shipping? Did anyone go from build to shipping?
my new EDD is 4-16-10 my order was 3-11-2010 -
The clock speed refers to individual core, so 720 with lower clock speed yet more cores can outperform 620, given that the software is designed to utilize quad core. most old softwares would not use the two "extra" cores while some even older ones would only use single core. In this case, higher single core clock speed is desirable.
