M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 3

Hell yeah. Just need a second card working without flicker and I will be loving it!

 

I ordered today and was told it was the cards. My rep said "maybe the 5800s will be out in a few days" I ordered from him anyway

 

Just spoke to a rep... she said she checked the part number for the 500 GB hard drives and it is not back ordered....

My guess is that since dell has multiple locations... our comps are being built in different locations that might have different parts back ordered??

Does anyone know?

 

My guess is that they are built in different locations... i mean no way can they be doing this all at one place :/ ... so yeah... different things are on back-order at each location

But then again.. i could always be wrong.

 

All built in the same facility in China.

 

I get to sit at "Production" stage now for an undetermined amount of time still have @3wks left in Afghanistan so no stress.

damn how did it ship so soon... my order date is the same... and its expedited cuzz i need it for school... yet yours shipped and mines in production-build.... sucks

 

I only got 1 radeon card a 256 gb SSD 6 GB DDR3 and a 1920x1200

 

Maybe they shipped you a refurb,lol..nah, just kidding. I hope i get mine that quick

hms dell says expedited transport but my m17x is still chilling at the ups depot in shanghai.

bet i'm not seeing this baby this week..

 

At least yours is complete and ready to ship... Most of us is still stuck on "In Production" Hopefully mine will be shipped before my EDD. I really want it on Friday so I can play around with it over the weekend !

 

true that, i'll probably have it on friday or monday. shame dell did not expedite as promised.

 

earthquake in china.... might delay even more

 

shanghai is not even close to the epicenter of that quake.
it's in shipping faster then normal so what's the few extra days wait, could been weeks

 

For some reason you cannot configure an m17x with i7 on epp site anymore and someone metioned in another thread that dell will not be offering m17x i7 through epp any longer, I guess were lucky to have placed our orders prior eventhough most of us are stuck in production

really what do you want to do about it, hop in a plane and carry bricks? last few months the quakes pop up like mushrooms. too bad those things happen a lot now a days.

i just noted that shanghai is not close to that epi center otherwise nobody would get his alienware hardware period

 

Are you also from Shanghai? One thing to remember: never talk geography or history of other country with Americans. They simply don't know, and, at the same time, don't care. Have fun with your new laptop.

If you are in the US just call customer support and tell them you had to take a day off or something to wait for it, and due to their mistake missed a day of work or scheduled a day off that wont happen now. IDK make up an excuse lol. They'll probably give you something, just tell them you are unhappy.

Compensation is usually a tactic these companies (not just Dell) use so you do not cancel the order. Calling and just asking for stuff won't get you anywhere most of the time.

 

I meant no disrespect to Americans, on the contrary, I love Texans here. So please save the dirty words for yourself.

And please don't blame our folks for China's human rights, if anyone is responsible, the communist government is. Just as we blame the Bush government, not average Americans, for wars around the globe.

Anyway, if my last post (although it is the summary of my personal experience) hurt your feelings as an American, I apologize. I am pretty sure that you are different from the people I have met.

Mine is suppose to ship the 23rd but that is a friday and I have NBD but of course I won't see it until 3 days later on Monday. :\

Hopefully it'll ship before that date.

 

Just don't use that word. Some script readers will blatantly tell you "We don't compensate our customers for technical issues with the product."

Looks like the M17xR2 is back on EPP.

 

So my order for a replacement laptop was put in march 24th. Arrived today in Canada on the 14th of April. Contained a few off the back-ordered parts (4870s, RGB LED, blu-ray reader).

Kinda makes me wish I was home to play with it, but I'm stuck in Vegas gambling away for 4 more days!
