M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4

I've been promised that my order would be "top priority", "rushed", etc. I'm sure just about everyone else that is in the same boat got a similar "promise". I don't think it will really make a difference.

We'll probably all get them around the same time... which is hopefully very soon.

 

You too??? Nice did they promise you next day shipping also??? Me Too, and him and him and her and him and.......................... Think we all have had the smoke puffed up our.......... Just go numb its easier that way.

 

Well from what I understand there is a real "Priority" status that can rush your build but that has to be approved by the upper management first. But otherwise I am sure we have had the same stuff repeated to us.

My resolution expert again vouched today that my EDD solid, and could even be a day earlier possibly (he was a LOT less confident on the early bit though)

 

Well mine was approved by upper management. My case isn't being handled by tech support. And my shipping is next day shipping If it's not in writing, I will not believe a word of it... the lies dell techs tell us get it in writing so you can raise hell later. And my EDD is set for the 2nd still! Hahaha called and condirmed that it's solid... and that's coming from corporate. But still can be BS! As I stated yesterday

 

Agree, I think at this point they would say anything to get me off the phone with the same questions every day. I keep telling him, hey as soon as I get my system I will stop calling you at least, promise!

Maybe the "priority" list is based on how much money you spent

My EDD is 03/02 (ordered on 02/06) and I'm pretty sure that will get bumped to 03/09. If I get mine by the 7th I would be pretty happy. And hey, then they can say they beat the EDD

 

I really don't care what status my order is as long as I get my order before I have to move. I honestly think its going to go by order placement. Why would one order be more priority when someone else has been waiting for nearly a month for theirs? Let's all just hope for the best (which is all of us getting our orders roughly the same time) and continue to share all the info we get.

 

Yeah I agree they put me on priority build status and all etc.... I think if you are affected by the delay they put you on that status anyway.

I figured I have the time to buy accessories while I'm awaiting my system. Today, I bought the TACX keyboard and mouse. I also bought a Swiss TSA-approved messenger bag, as well as a Western Digital 2TB My Book Live Personal Cloud External Drive. All I need now is a good cooling pad/dock...and to reorganize the man-corner of my basement to make room for the new goodies.

 

As expected my EDD has changed. It is now the 8th of March. I am hopeful that this will be an accurate date, and hopefully it gets here a little bit earlier.

 

So weird... my EDD isn't moving... EDD 02MAR12. I still call BS!!! for the record

 

My original EDD was today, that's why it changed. Expect to see yours change tomorrow, probably to the 9th. They seem to push dates back in 7 day increments.

 

I know I'm going to do my daily "hell raising" call in a few Keep them on their toes

 

Yep my EDD was being pushed back an entire week. So I expect them to change mine tomorrow to the 9th of march when they change mine.

Ordered mine on the 24th of february. EDD is 20th of march. Will the EDD of my system be delayed too? Or is it just the systems with the GTX580m card which are being delayed? Mine has the HD6990M.

 

It depends on if any of the components of your system are back ordered. To my knowledge, the 6990m are in stock. If everything is in stock, you'll probably see your system sooner than the EDD.

 

Due to my system being from the outlet, I don't experience the backorder..

Ordered mine on the 27th, EDD 02MAR12.... I'm not the only one with this EDD and approximated order date! Have no idea if mine is an outlet item though I actually built it myself and dell paid for it via alien contact.

 

I tried this form of distraction as well but I have run out of accessories to buy

If you built it from the Alienware site, then it's not an outlet item. Outlet items are usually customer returns and refurbs only available from the outlet store.

Your dates seem to suggest you purchased from the outlet. Reading back at your previous posts shows that this is a replacement order. Those tend to be built quicker, but because of the delay, it's unknown where your order will stand with current orders. My guess is you'll fall into the same boat as us and get your order sometime next week.

 

I got the 2nd AC adapter I ordered with it like 2 days after my initial order, it sits on my desk looking sad and lonely with out a M17x to plug into...

 

My backpack sits forlornly in a closet, waiting for its special day...

 

lol, my backpack is feeling the same pain.

 

This made me laugh. After I ordered mine on Feb 8th I pulled my backpack out of the closet and filled it with my new mouse and mouse pad and other computer stuff and started carrying it to work in anticipation of my laptop getting here early. Little did I know I would be waiting a month. Hopefully next week!

i went a bought a pelican hard case ( PelicanProducts) figured a bad laptop needs a bad case. Its empty waiting for its cargo to arrive :|

EDD is 3/12 (ordered 2/25)... Hopefully I'll get it early... Been itching for a new gaming rig for months and just didn't want to build another desktop. I'd rather game from the couch. Can't wait!

 

Nice rig, make sure if you wanna game from the couch you grab the ac adapter

 

*UPDATE*

So today my order has gotten delayed again. However this time the EDD is the 8th which is less than the week delay they were typically putting me on. so here's hoping that is an accurate EDD.

Wow even the 6990 are being delayed? Maybe Dell's trying to get them to all ship on one truck to save Gas!

 

Same here so I hope this is the end of the delays.

 

This is a very positive sign. We've all been getting different EDDs previously. Now the 8th seems to point to signs that they are expecting cards today or Monday.

On a side note, they have been saying that the 15th would be the latest they are expecting the cards to arrive. That would be exactly 1 week from the 8th. I'm hoping I'm not reading too much into these numbers.

That is great news. I ordered on the 6th so hopefully my system is either shipped (and they didn't update my status page) or it'll ship out early next week.

 

You guys should expect to see shipped on Monday and most will receive their units Tuesday. just got a call from my dell rep confirming it had shipped from Nashville. I wish it had shipped earlier so I could go pick it up . Oh well its coming Monday and I can't wait.

I was out shopping with the wife and kid when I replied to your post earlier. After replying, I found a $5 bill next to my car. Hopefully my luck will continue through the weekend and I get to see the beloved shipped status on my order page.

A question (to anyone)... Where do the Alienware laptops normally ship from? The Wikipedia page doesn't give a clear answer about where final assembly is done these days; it only talks about closed plants...

 

Mine is coming from Nashville Tennessee, they used to be assembled in Texas. Ive heard of them being shipped from china as well.

 

It all depends on your location. I'm pretty sure mine is gonna ship from Tennessee also since I'm in North Carolina.

 

I'm not sure if this will help any of you guys given the circumstances, but when I received my order it was still marked as "in production." So, you never know on how soon it may arrive. Good luck to all of you!

I'm in OH, so if there's a assembly facility in TN, that would make sense for me too...

Just kinda curious where all the config centers are though... Where have other's units shipped from?

 

well mine says made in china on the bottom and I believe that they are all assembled there and then shipped to a U.S. Dell facility to be shipped to your door. Might be why I've needed so many replacement parts.

 

My outlet order came from Lebanon, TN.

But I think that's different from where the regular orders come from..
