M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4

Ordered my M17x on 26/05/2012 from the UK, shipped out today from china.

Scheduled Delivery: 06/06/2012

Exciting!

 

Seems like the China facility is an order of magnitude faster than the US facilities. Lucky for you non-US peeps.

 

Mine shipped late last night.

Actually, it was the 16th.. but close tho lol

And mine was attempted to be delivered yesterday. But i wasnt home. So I signd the slip for them to leave it. As soon as I get delivery confirmation that its been to delivered today I am gonna go pick it up off my door step and come back to work. This wait is killing me!

 

i ordered on the 23rd. My EDD still says 6/7, but according to fedex it should be here tomorrow.

 

That's horrible, I've heard of many on the 22nd already being shipped, maybe they just haven't updated their status page? What configuration did you get?

hi, i ordered my alienware 20/5/2012 but my computer is still in production and my EDD is 6/6/2012 is that normal ?

 

Well I ordered mine 22/5/2012 and my EDD is still 7/6/2012... So I guess.

 

it does not make sense, we pay like 1500$-2000$ and it take 3 or 4 weeks

 

It's a custom product. It's takes time to make. It takes more time to be picked up from the shipping service. Then more time to be shipped off. It will come eventually.

Well... I guess it had better ship tomorrow or Dell will have been wrong when they said it would ship in the next 3 days.

 

I got a free 2-day shipping upgrade on mine but same order date(5/22/12) and one less day EDD(6/6/12). :/ so that just gives them more time to procrastinate. I'm dying waiting.

 

Unfortunately there is no 2 day shipping or overnight to Canada

 

You guys really shouldn't complain if you don't get your laptop in 2 weeks. It takes some time to catch up with all the builds, plus sometimes they run short on parts and have to wait until they get in stock. Usually it only takes a few days.

Now, if you were around back in Feb when some of us placed our orders, you would have seen that some of us waited over 5 weeks to get our systems due to the 580M shortage. We had our EDD changed at least 5 times on us, with no clear answer to when our systems would actually arrive.

Just be patient. If it starts to hit the 4 week mark, then start to show some concern and start calling your rep. If the delays and changes to your EDD keep changing, then you may be allowed a bit of compensation for your troubles.

 

I ordered my M17x on 8 May.
EDD 19 May.
It arrived in the warehouse ready for courier delivery on 13 May.
It's now 1 June.
I'm still waiting for it.
I have received no email updates whatsoever despite the email I received upon ordering which stated I should check my email regularly for updates.
They refuse to send out the laptop until some crappy speakers come in stock which came free with the order (I didn't even want the crappy speakers).
They can't tell me when the speakers will be in stock.

If I ordered the system yesterday I could have gotten the free 24 inch monitor deal instead of the crappy speakers and possibly even received my order faster than the order I made on 8 May.

The first time I called them they promised to call me back. I waited 3 days and nobody called me back. Every time since then they also said they would call me back. Every time they didn't. I have always had to followup myself only to be told nothing useful.

Dell advised yesterday that they 'can't' send the laptop out separately.

What CAN Dell do?

I wanted my laptop before last weekend. Now it looks like I won't even get it before THIS weekend.

Can I complain now, or should I just continue to be patient forever?

Any excitement I had about receiving my shiny new Alienware laptop has withered away into feelings of frustration and disappointment

 

Received mine today! This is one hell of a machine!

I'm running out of patience now. Trying to keep calm but it's so hard to do so. Here's my story I ordered my m17x on the 10/05/2012 from dell AU . It was shipped from the factory 5 days later and 2days later order status was "arrived in main hub & in transit". I was impressed and my eta was 25/05/2012 . I was so happy but on the 24th the eta changed to 31/05/2012. I wasn't alarmed because I know how the customs in AU is so I waited patiently. To my delight I get a call on the 29th morning asking me if I'm available to take delivery on the next day a day before the eta I jumped and said yes. But my happiness was short lived Come the evening on the same day I get a call from the delivery company telling me the delivery can't be processed because they have not recieved the package yet and they have no idea when they will get it. I was gutted. Next day morning I get a call from dell apologizing for what happened and tell me that there was a delay in clearing customs but my laptop will be delivered for me on the 5/06/2012 . Knowing that they can't controll customs I did not go to argue. But today I logged in to check my order status and I can't even log in to it. How more patient can I be

 

Let me guess you got the package with the bose speakers

I rang them and they told me they don't have the speakers in stock and they won't send any of the package out until they come in stock. They also don't know when they will be in stock. At least you got a phone call, I didn't.

After many phone calls they agreed to deliver the laptop today, and that I would get a phone call in the morning regarding delivery. It's now 2:52pm and no phone call and no delivery. And my dell contact who I've been dealing with does not answer her phone when I call with caller ID!

They were more than happy to cancel my order and let me start a new order without the speakers. Apparently they prefer to do this rather than paying $50 to a courier to send out the package from the warehouse in two separate pieces. Even though they would have to resell the laptop as a refurbished unit $400 cheaper than new.

My edd was 08/06/12, and then got updated to 06/06. I was quite exciting about it.
But looks like there might be some unexpecting things could happen.

 

I'm one of the 5/23 order date.

It went into production immediately with the EDD as 6/7. The website showed "In Production" till a few hours ago at 11PM. At the same time, I received an email from Dell about terms and conditions. After reading the email, I checked again. It changed to "Shipped". The order form shows "No information available" under tracking number.

After reading the FedEx track by reference from the last few pages, I tried it out...it's already on its way from Nashville. I'll get it by 6/2, but hopefully I'll get it today. I live a few hours from Nashville.

EDIT: Between my time of this post and now, the website was updated to provide FedEx tracking number.

I am waiting in anticipation.

 

Yes , I ordered when that deal was on. To be honest I never wanted the free companions because I already own a companion 5. Guess it was bad luck we went ahead and ordered during that promotion.
But the lady from dell never told me about the speakers being out of stock as I told earlier she told me that the customs was the issue. I guess she wasn't being totally honest with me. Hope I'll get it on the 5th . I don't care about the speakers

Looks like another weekend without the laptop I purchased almost a month ago.

You wanna know something I just saw on the Alienware AU site? the damn Bose promotion is back. So they can't say they are out of speakers next week

 

Am going to be very annoyed if my 5/22 order doesn't ship today.

 

Any updates for people who ordered on 25?EDD is 08/06/12 .

 

Yes, I ordered the 23rd, BUT it took until the 25th for it to hit production. According to dell, it was in final stages of production the 30th, tested the 31st, and 11:45pm on the 31st it was shipped. I will be getting it tomorrow, Saturday delivery apparently.

Edit: The track by reference never worked for me, and the tracking number was NOT available last night, but it was at 9am today.

 

I ordered on the 25th, no updates yet, still in production.

There's some people on here that ordered as early as the 22nd that still haven't shipped, but others on the 23rd have, it's an interesting scenario.

Anybody on the 24th ship yet? I'm hoping they can get some 24th/25th out today and of course xXxPykexXx better get his out today too!

 

I too ordered mine on 25th but since I bought it via a reseller it will probably take 2 more weeks for mine to arrive. So 6/15 is my guess, though obviously the sooner the better.

 

I don't think any 25 will ship out today,for sure but lets see

Also wish I'd got the 3720QM and not 3610QM... but that's okay.

While I appreciate the offer, not fair to take your money .

(Also the 3920XM is sweet - but I can't justify dropping $1000 on a laptop processor atm)

ordered 5/22 EDD 6/6 ship date late 5/31, found out today. lets hope it beats sunday

 

Mine also shipped late on the 31st, and I am getting a Saturday delivery tomorrow. Maybe ours could be in the same shipment, was yours from Nashville, TN?

 

Wasn't disputing that , just would rather not wait.

 

What I don't understand, is that if you are paying $2000+ for a computer, why not opt for the fastest shipping possible, since the cost is negligible compared to that of the computer

 

Not an option north of 49, but even if it was, I guess the view would be that adding 5-10% to the purchase cost doesn't make sense when it will be here 3 days slower.

 

I agree,the system will be there sooner or later,no point spending extra cash on 1 day shipping,If you can request them for it and most of the time they throw it in...

 

I was able to get free 2day with dell advantage.
