M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4

It is fixed today. On-site engineer came with a replacement card. Fixed the whole thing in 5mins. I spent most of this afternoon benchmarking and play civilization V.
Default setting scored p5955.

 

My EDD is 7/25. No change.

 

I'm starting to get a little worried now that my EDD Is fast approaching with "in production" still showing. Its suppose to arrive this coming Monday. Where does it ship from for Canada? The anticipation is killing me.

Talked to Dell today to ask why my laptop hadn't shipped yet and they gave me the response that they were trying to ship it as soon as possible but they were having problems with FedEx... the FedEx guy shows up 20min later with my new m17x!!! =D

 

Just an update, no change to my order date (7/19/2012) and still marked as In Production. I have thankfully yet to receive any emails telling me that a part was not in stock.

EDD: 7/27 with 7 day shipping, but I'll probably call later and try and get that upgraded. It went from 'Pre-Production' to 'In-Production' about 2 hours after I ordered.

 

I think they come from Texas.

 

If I'm not mistaken the computers ship straight from the factory in China that's what a lot of others have been saying

I already have my 256gb Samsung 830 to pull out of my current rig I almost got the 7970 when it came out but I waited until now to see how the 680 would do. I still think the 7970 is the better value but I really wanted to try out the 3D. The Sager 680 thread also sold me with their overclocking.

 

Mine has finally been shipped - Order date 29th June EDD 20th July. UPS can't find my tracking number though?

Its getting very exciting on my refreshing of the Dell Order Details page now! Hopefully ill get it early than a week tomorrow.

 

They really seem to be getting going ... My M17x with GTX 680m has shipped today to Austria, Europe (order date 3rd July, EDD 17th July)! Now I'm just waiting for the UPS tracking info to show up )))

Just wondering, when did you order and what was your EDD?

 

Ordered 6/27 very late in the day. EDD was originally 7/13 according to my sales rep but changed the next day when it went into production to 7/12, which appears to be 100% accurate.

 

Mine is still in production. Ordered 6/25 and my EDD is still 7/18.

On July 10th my EDD was July 12, on July 11 my EDD was update to July 24, today (July 12) my EDD is now July 19th.

 

Ordered mine the 5th of july, just been told today that they have no chassis available in red or black, is this the same for anyone else ?

 

So it turns out my rep 'lied' to me. He said I'd have a tracking number within an hour YESTERDAY morning, and I never received it, so I when on the order status chat a few minutes ago, and the guy said it's still in it's final stages. So It's looking to me that I'm not getting it until next week which is total bull (one-day-shipping). The reps call you to try and keep you as happy as possible even though they you in the end.

 

I am so angry right now... ordered June 27 in am. EDD is July 16 (monday). I e-mailed them and got this in return... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! im losing my mind right now...

"Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

I understand from your email that you are concerned about the status of your order. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

I have reviewed your account and it shows that your order number xxxxxxxx is in production and the revised estimated delivery date is of 08/09/12. However, this is just an estimated delivery date and it may happen that your order delivers out well before the estimated date.

There is an unexpected manufacturing delay. Therefore, I have forwarded the message to our concerned department to expedite your order; however it is not guaranteed."

I seriously was almost shedding a tear when I read this...

 

Would be nice to know what that unexpected manufacturing delay is...

 

I believe it was something with the bottom cover of the laptops in which was causing the delay. I talked to my case rep and they said that my order did not have any delays, but to be honest I wont be surprised if it gets delayed anymore.

 

My order has been delayed because of the bottom cover but my EDD is in 6 days surely they cant have it delivers by then as its still in pre production

 

If it says in production then its not being delayed right?

Not to put a downer on it, but my order was on "Pre-Production" for a week before I was told that there was a shortage of parts (m17x base).

I finally hit 'In Production' 2 days before my EDD.. I have gone from an EDD of 13/07/12 to 24/07/12!

 

I hope not, i've only just got there after a week and a half of 'Pre-Production'!

Aww man :/ i hate waiting as it is, but they wont even tell me when the parts will be available and when i ask will it be delivered at a later date they say no your order is on track to be there on your EDD but i dont see how :/

 

The rep I spoke to told me the specific date that the parts should be available.

I guess he was correct as my order went 'In Production' on the date the parts were supposed to be back in stock.

Im resigning myself to the mentality of "It will get here, when it gets here".

Still cannot wait to get my hands on the laptop though!!!

 

What parts were missing on yours ?

They wont even give me a date apparently they are waiting for an update! :/

I ordered my Nebula red with 7970m last week and it went into production 15 minutes after purchase. EDD 7/20

I have checked my Order Status and its out for Delivery!

I have a new issue though, the delivery service is Walsh Western International (check them out, less than positive reviews )

When I click the "Track Here" link from Dell, I just get a blank page with the Walsh Western banner at the top of the screen.

If I try and manually check my order via their parent company (Syncreon) it claims that my Order/Customer numbers don't match!

Guess i'll give it a few days

ordered on June 21st, EDD is July 20th, and its been in-production for the past 2 weeks. didnt have a chance to call and ask for specific status and what's holding it up, but this is ridiculous, next week friday will make it a month since I ordered the laptop.

 

Yeah you do. I am right behind you on that. Customer service is little to no help as they give you false answers to try and carry you along. If my machine is not in my hands by the end of next week then I am canceling this one and just ordering something from the outlet.

 

I ordered on the 29th of june, but Dell lost my transferred money for 10 full, agonizing days. I was through many customer support / economic offices in India and here, in Denmark. In the end, it was Dell on twitter (dell listens) that connected the dots for them, and it's scheduled to arrive on tuesday 17th.

 

Does it not say shipped on your order status ?

And mine has finally gone into production today! I spoke to my rep and he said hes emailed the manufacturing company to speed my delivery up but i doubt thats true :/

 

Prior to my last post, my Order Status has updated with UPS as my Carrier!! Est Delivery date is Monday!! Looks like the delay to my order only pushed it back a couple of days from my original EDD!

No, im from the UK!

Initially when my Order Status changed to 'Shipped' it said my carrier was Walsh Western (they have crap reviews online).

At around 5:40pm I got my official dell delivery e-mail which gave me a UPS tracking number.

Checked my Order Status again and my carrier had changed to UPS!

I will give my first impressions on Monday! (Hopefully )

 

Ah right fair enough i hope i have UPS! As this other firm doesnt look good at all!
Im going to have to wait till monday i guess now to find out if my order will be shipped as i dont think they work on saturdays :/
