M17x Order Status Discussion - Part 4

Grrrr... Still pre production! That means it will have taken me over a month to get this laptop.

 

still pre production as well. Don't worry it will come eventually. I use an old Dell netbook at the moment so this will be a step up once I receive it.
I hope we get ours soon

 

I ordered my on the 8th of october and still in pre-production, why is it going so slow and why does there nothing happen?

mine is set for the 2 of november, dont know if this is still possible :/.

I think this thread has shown people ordered early october aka 1-5th? maybe have had theirs go into production and shipped this week. You should I guess be in production late this week or next week and it should be delivered soon after?

I know there was stock issues but it depends on your configuration and where its for I guess. Keep us up to date if anything does change though

 

I just called with customer service and they said everything was there, so i dont know where they waiting for.....
I am just hoping for it.....

 

Ordered 2nd oct, now in delivery via UPS! currently in shanghai china and will apparently arrive on the 29th, next monday and i cant wait

 

My situation is exactly the same with you !!! Ordered on 2nd and got an email saying it will arrive on the 29th ~

But i am not excited at all, every extra second i hv to wait makes me wanna choke dell to death ~

Hey everyone who ordered on the 02/10/12 and has delivery date on the 29/10/12.

What are your config and price ? Does Dell give u any discount for such delay?

Price was on special offer for £1,300 but with the nvidia 675m so I haggled to change it to the better AMD. Despite the AMD being £20 cheaper, that wasn't reflected in the price i payed, but I did get to use a 10% off and free postage code to bring the price down to £1,150, full price 1,533!

No discounts on delay, but to be fair it is only an estimate and was the 26th ever since i clicked order, and to only move to the next working day isn't that bad, even though i'm so eager to get my hands on it.

I get the impression that the only ways to get discounts is via this page, using discount/voucher/coupon codes from the internet, or just haggling somehow.

Just checked the status of my m17x and it went in production finally!!
The delivery date is 2 november i am feeling this will be no problem!!
I am so happy the status changed, i keep you guys up te date!

Ugh. Ordered on October 9th with an EDD of 29th. Been "In Production" since the 15th and still hasn't shipped. I guess mine is going to miss its EDD.

 

Ordered mine on the 6th October, got an EDD of 9th November, phoned customer care, was told there was a shortage of displays for the M17x and that more might not arrive until mid November!!! They apparently had a delivery on the 22nd October, which is why so many orders when to "In Production" on the 23rd, but it appears those who are still in "Pre-Production" might have to wait a few more weeks

Last time I order from dell...

 

Dells customer service is really ........, but really, it's with all big companies, all there support sucks because they are so globalized.
And the alienwares are really nice so i think its worth the wait

 

Just had this confirmed on the phone with Customer Care.

There IS a parts shortage, they are unsure of when the parts will be delivered, but there is currently a 3 week delivery period on new parts at their Manufacturers for the M17x, she is going to confirm the new delivery date (of the parts... not my laptop) on Monday, but she warned me to expect a month on top of my current EDD.

Totally and utterly outraged. Will be looking around for another Laptop on the weekend to cancel my order with Dell Monday morning - Any recommendations?

The problem was when I ordered I specified to the lovely English lady on the phone that I needed the laptop for a business trip on the 10th November - She told me that if I ordered that day, the laptop would be delivered in 5-10 working days. I hate it when Sales lie to you, even if they do know no better.

 

You guys from the UK have better deals and cost.

I order the 19, was pushed to 23 due to payment problems, with a estimate for 20 and have the same problem, I have a fly programmed for the 17.

it happens exactly the same to me......First they lie to u so that u will order..... and then they just completely forgot abt wt they promised. It is so sick..........

 

I ordered the 08th.oct and was pushed to 12th oct due to PSU from 180 to 240W, and my EDD is 08th nov...My status was not changed from beginning.Is still under pre-production.
And my rep told me order-shipment will take at least 3 three week or so.
I will be worried if I do not get the laptop up to 05th nov.

I ordered an alienware laptop m17x R4 and it will come on the 29th Oct. So i think i am almost an owner.
My m17x config is as follow:

i7-3630qm
gtx 675m
8GB RAM
500GB of Hard Drive

I know there are lots of better combinations that will top my config here, well too late to change now~
My question is, without any comparison with others, is my laptop good enough to play most of the games?

Thanks, but is there a huge difference between high and ultra? i mean does ultra give u another texture of a game?

To be honest, until my laptop arrives i have no idea! Im pretty sure you will notice some difference, but high will still look pretty stunning and you should still be able to have some options on ultra, sometimes like with Modern warfare 3 it can all be on ultra. I assume after awhile you'll find what settings are most important to you, to get the balance of frame rate and settings right.

this laptop almost cost my life haha, 2500euro.
I never put this much of money away for "just" a laptop.
But really, i think it worth it.

only problem was to choose the videocard between 680m or 7970m
I went with the 7970m becuase the performance is on par with the 680m and the price would drop a little bit.
I have done alot of research in this and overall i think the 7970m is better.

 

I have the exact problem, I am driving my wife crazy hahaha.

 

Dude , i even clean my desk so that when my alienware comes it won't be contaminated by the dirt.

I am so frustrated wif the laptop i am using now. It is a sheity LG laptop tat gets overheated when i watch youtube

I am working from a fairly nice laptop now but its crap compared to my new m17x haha.
I think i just go in hibernation mode till the post man arrives.

 

3840qm is expensive en then all extra options like full hd, killer wireless, 12 gb, the hd with 32gb intel srt
I geuss alienware is expensive anyway.
I cannot wait and i saved up money for 1 year for this soooooo
