Others have pointed out for some time that the 485M is not listed in the 3D Vision requirements on nVidia’s web site. Though the Clevo P170HM3 is supposed to be released with a 120Hz screen and the 485M, it is not available yet. Sager, which follows suit with their own version of Clevo models, has explained to me that they think it will be a few months before the model will actually be released. This may not be related, but then again…

Yea but 32 is soo useless today. For user 8gb is enough and if you do emulating or idk, u will ''need'' more.

That would be fraudulent and is not allowed here...

    On another note:

I no longer have the 485M, we aren't going to be seeing 3D in the 485M any time soon and I preferred 3D versus a 1.5-2x faster processor, it runs everything great on the 460M, only reason I even got it was to help you all out in testing it since I can afford it right now.

No reason for me to keep it because I won't be utilizing it so it was sent back. Sorry I can not contribute anything more to this.

Thanks mate for all the effort, I'm in agreement with you on the 460m it seems to be doing very well indeed and considering that 3D is best played at 720p so far it has handled everything I've thrown at it, been playing crysis 2 in 3D and it's great, no lag high fps and very playable in 3D.....I really can't complain

Only glitch I've had so far with my machine was the wifi not connecting out of the box but with several installs and messing around it's 100% now

also had to reinstall the 270 nvidia driver due to portal 2 not running in 3d, it was fine yesterday, I think some MS updates messed something up, Windows 7 in my opinion is less than perfect, better OS than Vista but no where near as stable.

Thanks for testing it out! Very sad ending to the thread though. :/ It's just a matter of time until someone finally brings out 485M with 3D, too bad it's taking so long.

See you on the vip threads.

its worth a shot.. I dont have a 485m any more, nor have i picked up an R3. I just like when people can successfully get what they want out of a machine, especially if it's not how the original manufacturer's intended it to be ;)

edit: for whatever reason i cant get their website to show up correctly. i can pull up a cached version, but it's not loading anything i want to click on lol. maybe someone else can get it to work?

can you post or pm me the part number if you please? also, if you noticed, i was able to swap the 485 and the 460 without having to uninstall and reinstall drivers, so swapping them back and forth is really very easy (with an extra heatsink).

    ^^
on driver i found this 3D id line: ''StereoMonitorID"=dword:02c5e430
Maybe it's the solution but idk...

So i check on gtx460m and it's the same and 270.61 works and 3D works on gtx460m.
Something with gpu and screen id has a rapport. :/ for sure..

wow, still no laptop from dell. r3 has been with them for over a week.... so, nobody wants to attempt an id change since mine failed? and no 1.03 volt flash? no way to do a registry edit or something so the nvidia drivers will read the gpu or display differently?

well, my 485m is up for sale if there are any takers, I bought it at $799 at the time, but now retails at $750. I'm selling mine for $600. Wish you guys luck. 485 is a great card, but my M18x is on the way.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/computer-components/575615-fs-nvidia-gtx-485m-2gb-video-card-notebook.html#post7451180

wish all my 485m friends good luck in cracking the 3d mystery. if not, hey, enjoy a sweet 120hz screen and smoking fast card!
